It's a very good hotel not far from Diagonal. The room was noisy but I think this "problem" is in the whole city. If you want to sleep don't go to Barcelona. :D We were pleased!

We were very happy with Via Augusta. Although it was a bit far from the city center, the neighborhood is safe and it is a short walk to nearby Gracia, where there are quaint streets full of interesting shops, cafes and restaurants. The best feature of the room was a very large window that opened to a nice view and got a good breeze. Walls were thin and it would have been noisy if we hadn't used the air conditioner (which was easy to use and worked well) to provide white noise. Staff was extremely helpful and spoke good English.

Ecxellent hotel. Everything was satisfactory. Great Quality/price ratio. Very welcoming and helpfull personel. The room was quit, clean and of high standard, especially for a 2 star hotel. We have stayed at many 3 star hotels of lower standard. Close to metro which takes you to central city in 10 minuttes. All in all one of the very best hotels we have ever stayed in regardless of price. We can higly recommend it.

An excellent, clean 2* international stle hotel. The area feels safe, and the hotel staff friendly. The laminate flooring makes for some noise transfer from rooms next door, but nothing serious. My only issue was that as a single person, I was given a 'large cupboard' as a room. Big enough and perfectly clean, well furnished and with a flat screen TV - but you wouldn't want to spend a lot of time in it! Fortunately being in Barcelona, that was not a problem. I recommend this hotel totally - and if I go back, I will always check to see if it is available.

Really good hotel. Good size room & nice bathroom, although the bathroom window wouldn't open which was a bit odd!! Not as close to Ramblas as expected & also website is missing directions to hotel. Closest metro station is Fontana on green line L3 for anyone arriving!! Would recommend hotel for a few days stay!! And Barcelona is a wonderful city!!

I've changed hotels in the midlle of my trip. There's one Sr. at the reception(the bald one) that is vey unpleasant, and was always with a long face. didn't gave us the messages as he should and when i've ask for two glasses and ice, he was non cooperative. He acted all the time as we were bothering him... In result of his, We change to Hotel Decomte, where we were very well received, the location was better, the hotel was better and we've payed almost half the price...

We stayed 9 days on vacation. Rooms are very small but nice and clean, in rooms opposite of the street the windows are blocked, no possibility to open them (and nowhere specified). The staff is ok, but not very friendly (they should learn to smile once in a while). It is a 5 minute walk to the train station. Good price/quality ratio

on arrival, we were shown up to a spacious triple share room, clean and welcoming by competent and charming clerk, Francesco. The bathrooms were large, clean and we had clean towels. At night, there was a slight rumbling of the metro but that could not be helped otherwise it was quiet. For Catholics, there is a church just accross the hotel. I would opt to stay there again.

I went from a 5 star hotel for 3 days business meeting to a 2 star hotel for leisure, so trying not to have that distort the picture. Quality OK, especially considering the price (EUR 75 compared to EUR 360 for the 5 star hotel). Beds OK, bathroom was clean and fine. Clean room. Rooms facing the block interior, have no outside noise. Metro almost next door. Breakfast is fine. Quite a lot of noise from hallways and adjacent rooms though as hallways and rooms have no carpets but laminating. One experience worth mentioning: the fire alarm went off, so the good thing is that it works, but it was at 5 am. Everybody went outside, but no staff around in the lobby when walking outside. Haven't seen a firebrigade. None of the staff took the time to tell the people outside they could go back inside. No apologies whatsoever.

Excellent value for money; as the single room was spacious and qujiet, all new fittings in pale wood finish, good lighting, individualair conditioning/heating very good. Very helpful staff. Breakfast extra but sensibly priced . Garage in neighbouring building at preferential rfate - expensive of course, 25€ a day, but convenient and very secure with helpful staff. Be sure to get your carpark ticket stamped by the hotel and pay at the office, not the machine. Location good, a pleasnt area and right next to underground railway to Catalunya and a few minutes from metro Fontana.

Nice Hotel, walking distance to the Rablas. Room well furnished. We had a room on the 8th floor, frontside of the hotel, with a great view. Breakfast was not included. This wasn't a problem. We found a very nice coffeebar around the corner (when you leave the hotel 2x left on the right corner of the next street). We had 1 time lunch and 1 time breakfast there and we paid only 5 euro per person. A very friendly waitress.

Very good 2-star hotel. The room we were given was recently renovated and was very clean and confortable (air conditioning, bathtube and shower). Hotel is close to bus stop (on the same road) and underground station (Fontana). All in all this hotel is a very good value for money.

A very relaxing, central place to stay. Large spacious rooms (mine had a/c), friendly staff, a central location close to a subway station (75m away from the door!) all make this a sensible place to stay. I will definitely stay there again when next in Barcelona. Very impressive for a 2star rating!

Unmentioned fees for paltry services are outrageous (Small continental breakfast will run you €8.00 per person, per day). Despite being told by a member of the front desk staff that phone service to connect to our phone card would be free of charge, stiff phone fees were added to the bill. Additionally, the staff attempted to charge us twice what was quoted during reservation with this website. After arguing, we had no choice but to use their overpriced (€2.00/15 min) internet service to prove the price we`d agreed upon. We were refused the right to speak to a manager, and were told that "in Spain, they charge for everything." Not my experience at other establishments. VERY DISSATISFIED!

This hotel is hard to get to. From Barcelona Sants station, take the metro to DIAGONAL, then change to the L6 direction towards Gracia, get off at the Gracia metro stop, take a left out of the station. Go about half a block and you will hit the hotel. Its very easy once you know where you are going.

Barcelona is expensive, so when spending under 100 euros a night, you can't expect too much. The hotel was very well located, very near the metro, in a "regular" neighborhood some distance from La Rambla, etc. After seeing the touristy areas, we decided the Via Augusta neighborhood was much more interesting with it's pastry shops, little restaurants, all the shops the folks who live in the area use every day.(La Rambla is filled with Indian owned junk souvenir shops where they speak English much better than Spanish or Catalan, toooo many tourists even in May, and lots of not very good restaurants) We were lucky enough to be on the 8th floor, so our room had a little balcony which most rooms don't have. The room was entirely adequate, like a somewhat used dorm room. Front desk staff were numerous and varied from cheerful, friendly and helpful(a young woman) to cold and imperious (a young man).

we stayed just for sleeping and nothing more.the staff was very friendly and the cleaning was amazingly quick. so for us the stay was pleasant, everything that we needed was there.a shower and even a bath to sit in,a toilet and a bidet and our room was for three persons and therefor i slept in a folding bed.maybe it was nicer to have a room where the three beds were next to eachother but we didn't find this anoing. for the time that we've spend there it was perfect and also the price was good.but be aware that the tax is not included in your total price. so like i said:do go to via augusta for a good stay.
