Sunotel Junior - Barcelona

I made a booking at the Sunotel Junior but was transferred to the Sunotel Aston when I checked in. Maybe my age group was no longer suitable for the Sunotel Junior. The room was nice, spacious and the bed was comfortabel to get a good sleep.The only problem was that the bathromm door jammed and was impossible to close. This is should be something easy to fix. I also had a problem with the inroom safety box as it would not open although I entered the correct code. Had to wait until next day to get the problem fixed; this would be unacceptable if I would have had to check on that day. Otherwise we had a great stay in Barcelona.

The good thing is that the hotel was very close to the metro station and consequently all major city attractions were easily reached. Rooms were not spacious and unfortunately the noise coming ouside the rooms was a big disadvantage.Breakfast schedule and buffet were more than adequate.

Nice receptionists. good location with few metro stops to the Catalunya Placa.

The noisiest room a have ever had due to constant traffic. The room was also quite small.

We stayed 4 nights and I couldn't have asked for anything better. The price was very affordable and the quality and cleanliness was perfect. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I have already to friends going to Barcelona. It is very easy to get to from the Metro. I loved it!

The room was small but comfotable. About 10 mnts from plaza catalunya by metro. This hotel was nice.

A little bit noisy

The first night we stayed in a room at the front of the hotel, very noisy.. The second night we asked to change rooms and had a room at the back of the hotel, very good and quiet.

We knew that the swimming pool was closed but the last time may be...

There isn´t computer to check emails

Tutto bene tranne una cosa,non potevo spegnere ed accendere l aria condizionata quando volevo io,ogni volte per spegnerla dovevo chiederlo alla reception,e spesso ripartiva da sola quando voleva,magari durante la notte(un po rumorosa).

La piscina era fuori uso e per noi era stato forte motivo di scelta quindi ENORME delusione, il rumore dalla strada è molto forte nonostante la migliore soluzione da loro offerta sia stata sistemarci a un piano alto ma stanchi come si è dopo tutto il giorno in giro ci si fa poco caso! Nell'insieme il posto è carino e il prezzo da noi pagato abbastanza proporzionato. Io lo consiglierei!

Non ci sono problemi per la colazione vista la pasticceria a fianco dell'hotel. Abbastanza vicina alla metro (5 minuti) clinical hospital. Stanza pulita ben arredata, ma con 2 difetti: si percepiva che vi erano stati ospiti fumatori (hai presente quell'odore che non se ne va anche se pulisci??...considerando la moquette!! Chiedete una stanza interna..sicuramente meno rumorosa!!

Very clean and especially for barcelona very quiet (but i had a room at the back of the hotel). the staff is kind, the hotel itself is very close to the centre. highly recommended!

La mattina dell'arrivo ci hanno avvertito che siccome era in ristrutturazione il piano dove era ubicata la nostra stanza ci avrebbero spostato all'altro hotel 3 stelle sempre di loro proprietà che si trova proprio alle spalle allo stesso prezzo pattuito. Erano perfettamente uguali quindi siccome siamo stati nell'altro credo che comunque la valutazione sia la stessa: molto accogliente, pulito, personale gentile e simpatico,un bellissimo spazio relax all'ultimo piano con piscina, sauna e idromassaggio con un incantevole vista su Barcellona. ci ritornerei subito!!

The service was realy bad, the same as Hotel Sunotel Aston, the booking was confirmed twice with an extra bed and the room was not available on the arrival. The put us in seperate rooms.

Too far from rambla. By feet : 1h20 to sagrada familia. 1h30 to the port. very noisy (even at 5th floor). Parking is near the hotel, but not inside. Actually it's behind , under the sunhotel aston.

I had a quite small room, which was o.k. It's quite centrally so I was actually quite satisfied, until the first night. I was there in December. They used the air condition to heat the hotel. Every now and then the air condition turn on. The first night I hardly slept. The second day I searched for another hotel and moved. So don't go there in winter time!

Le stanze sono molto accoglienti e pulite, un pò rumorose! un buon hotel nel complesso!

Air conditioning was in problem and no technical personal was available to fix it... The beds were not confortable at all. No food service at this hotel, no potable water available in the room. The hotel is located at about on kilometer from the metro station.

Located in a nice quiet area, within easy reach from the Sants railway station. Very welcomin staff. Rooms are not too spacious, but were enough for the 2 of us to move around.

There was a problem with the JUNIOR Hotel (2*), so we stayed in the ALSTON Hotel (3*), both in the same location. What seemed to be a great thing, was not in part: the first night, the A/C was turned off. The room became very hot and it was hard to sleep. The next day I was told that it was normal, from midnight to 09:00am. So, they offered another room with individual A/C control. It was ok! In the last night, the water was not hot enough to take a good shower... We don´t even want to know why! The rest was ok, location, near to metro station and 3 blocks from the turistic bus station!

Nice hotel, good prices. A little bit noisy due to the location of the room on the street. Very cosed to a great local for breakfast.

Excellent, clean and very nice staff!

Its nice and big, very nice deco, however because the room is close to the street, it is quite noise, and the hot water was not hot enough. But the overall surrounding is nice, close to metro, 24 hr super market, drug stores.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The lower floors facing the street are quite noisy during rush hour (24/7 it seemed), but we had no problems getting a quieter room higher up. When our bed broke (no really!) they had it fixed and ready within 1 hour, although we had to suffer some smirks from the receptionist the rest of our stay... ;-) Nice hotel and good value. 5 minute walk to nearest metro. Good breakfast spot on the corner.

The street is too noisy!!

I reserved at Junior Hotel, when I got there was sent to Ariston around the corner.

Only stayed for one night but found staff helpful, room was more than adequate for my needs and would use again.

Very nice hotel, close to the city center. I'd give more than just the 2 stars which the hotel has (at least 3). Only the general heater is pretty loud everything else is perfect and the little bathroom with shower even provides a little tub. Would definitly stay there again, especially if it stays that cheap regarding the price.

The room was clean and quiet.

This is a pleasant hotel. It is nicely furnished and so on. The noise of traffic from the street below could be a little too much at times although I suppose this is part & parcel of staying in a hotel in a busy city. The location was good - not too far from the very centre (a short metro ride) but far enough to get a sense of the native.

The hotel Junior was quite good but it was quite loud and we had to use ear plug when we went to bed. (A hospital is quite near from the hotel and we could hear ambulances all the time) Except the noise problem, the hotel was really good, everything is located quite near:Cafes, Backeries,a gas station, subway stations (3-5 min. walk), Kiosk etc... We are satisfied with the hotel and if we would be visiting Barcelona, we`d be staying there again.

Bon hôtel mais quelques désagréments lors du séjour : portes de l'ascenseur qui claquaient, 1er jour VMC bruyante et isolation des fenêtre insuffisante côté avenue, enfin la douche passait du chaud au froid. Par contre personnel très serviable et disponible et propreté impeccable.

Very nice, clean and efficient hotel, pleasant stuff, very good value for money.
