Sunotel Central - Barcelona

There was a problem with the strength of the wifi signal. We needed to open the hallway door to receive a signal. The staff attempted to remedy but could not. Wifi was important to me so I would rate the hotel lower because of this.

The hotel has been fully paid in advance by us.SMS confirmation from the bank was received. Staff at the reception upon departure would remove from us a second payment for the room, arguing that we should call ourselves on Venere and find out why they were not paid. After our perturbation they have found himself in the presence of pre-prepared check with our already held payment. Staff wanted to cheat us!

Nice hotel with good location. Staff was good and all required infomation and help was given immediately.

I general, it is a great hotel, in an excellent location (Eixample). Plusses: Location is excellent. Decent room sizes, as many towels one needs, not just one :), by far one of the best breakfast offered in similar level hotels I have seen in Barcelona and it was INCLUDED in price. Well worth! Roof deck for taking sun with pool. Wireless internet was working with decent speed, that is a plus. Minuses: Physical key not an electronic card entrances to the rooms (I have not seen this for a decade). Twin size Beds are a joke (actually one broke when we had fun :)), since those are on wheels. Jacuzzi in the roof deck was not heated.

Walking distance to most museums etc ,close to Metro.Staff very helpful and welcoming.Good selection at breakfast.Would return.

Very high rate quality/price. Very good surroundings. And above all very good and great breakfast (cakes, sliced, etc.)!

*very good location ,10.min.to Placa Catalunya.The hotel is between 2 subway station. *Breakfast was fantastic. *May be not a real 4 stars hotel but,it has bathtub.After a long walking during the day the hot water makes me feel good. *Good service .They clean the rooms everyday.

If you know that this is one of the main streets in Barcelona and is never quiet then you won't be disappointed. However, the double glazing doesn't keep out much of the noise. The breakfast was great and the position of the hotel in Barcelona is very central, just be aware it won't be quiet and you'll get what you expect! There isn't a proper bar in the hotel, just a small sitting area but as part of being in Barcelona is going out then that might be the reason behind this.

We stayed at this hotel as a family group of 7 people and a baby of 2 years. When we booked we asked for a cot in one room and again this was all provided as asked We were only there 1 night so needed a central location. This hotel met all our expections. The location for the price could not be better. The young man at the desk was pleasant and very helpful, and again at checkout. The breakfast was included in our price and was excellent. It was on a busy road but our rooms were at the back and although there was no view they were very quiet which was ideal for us. Overall we found this hotel extremely good value for money considering it was only a very short walk to the main areas. I can-not understand some of the poor reviews this hotel has been given. We would certainly have no hesitation in staying again at this hotel

Location is good. The Hotel rooms are clean and the room cost is not expensive.

THE HOUSE IS QUIET BUT THE ROOM NOT VERY INSONORIZED. BETWEEN ROOMS ALL NOISES PASSED

The staff was not really welcoming as they should be and the Air conditioning makes is quite noisy at night... Except from that: perfect (although we did not try the breakfast: a rip off I think)

We came back to this hotel for our second stay in Barcelona, because we were satisfied with location, service, cleanliness. One should now that almost all hotels in Barcelona are noisy (inside or street noise).

We were extremely happy to find this 4 star property right next to the 3 star property where our friends were staying, and for less money! The old adage "you get what you pay for" is very true in this instance. Directions from the subway stop were incomplete, and it took quite a while to locate the property even though it is on a major avenue. Reception was cold at best, not what we expected after a long travel day. The first morning we were awakened to jack hammers tearing up the service drive to the hotel. During our entire stay, there were more construction workers on site than hotel employees. The restaurant was closed as was the health center. Breakfast was 14 euro per person plus 7% VAT. Something should have been offered to make our stay more pleasant... possibly coupons to the Starbucks a block away for a coffee in the morning. Anything to get us away from the construction site. Maybe this will be a decent property once it is completed, but for now I would recommend staying next door.

My room was clean and spacious enough for one person. The air conditioning worked well and the staff was friendly and knowledgable. That being said I had booked the hotel because of the "rooftop terrace" and was dismayed to find it and the top floors undergoing what appeared to be an extensive remodel thus no finished terrace or pool. As I only stayed there Sunday night I wasn't impacted by any remodel noise so don't know what it is like during the week. The restaurant and bar were not open but that was probably because it was a Sunday night. If one doesn't want to have a 14 euro breakfast at the hotel there's an excellent pastry shop and a restaurant specializing in "English breakfasts" a block or two down the street to the left as you exit the hotel. I paid 112 euros for the room.
