This is an absolutely charming 5 star hotel in a perfect location. The employees were extremely helpful, all speak English fluently, and the service is outstanding. I stayed in a regular room on my inbound but when I returned to Barcelona two weeks later since the regular room was not ready they upgraded me to a marvelous room at no additional fee. I strongly recommend the hotel and would definitely use it again if I return to Barcelona.

The hotel was fabulous. It has absolutely the best location. The view from the rooftop pool and bar is spectacular! I would highly recommend this hotel for any traveler, particularly a tourist wanting to easily walk Barcelona. On a previous trip to Barcelona, I stayed at the Hotel Arts/Ritz, and I much prefer the Majestic. The desk staff were extremely helpful providing full concierge services -- dinner reservations, recommendations, etc. Will stay here again.

Rooms were a joke! family room?? ha! 5*?? ha! more like a 5* lobby and lounge! rooms wer 3*, a dressing gown n a pair of slippers dont change that! i was also outraged to find out i had been charged for the room after going to my online internet bank account to see were my money had gone and realised! as we checked into the hotel they asked for my card only as a deposit as they do, but he had taken for the room and never said a word! even after i complained 2 nights afterwards the receptionist said the room wasnt paid for! im not sure if they trusted us as i was over wit a couple of lads, the receipt i recieved wen i was checking out was dated the night i complained and was put down to human error! wat a joke! very expensive, wine glass of beer for 7 euros, not 4 young people! couples maybe! roof was really cool, city was great, clubs wer great, food was great, only bad was d hotel really! we tought we needed to be central in the city but you could stay anywer as long as your stayin in the city....

This was my first time to Barcelona and we were staying for 1 night before taking our Cruise to the Mediterranean. We returned to another hotel for 6 nights after our 12 night cruise. This other hotel was selected based on Venere suggestions also. The welcoming was a little cold after so many hours flying from San Juan, PR, but after that everything went find. I had to show my reservation paper from the Internet because my reservation did not show up in their computer, its a good advise to always bring your reservation copy with you. The good part was that they let us use the room before the check in time. The room was a triple one and it was OK, not the view but for only one night it was OK. The location was perfect to visit The Pedrera and Casa Batllo. I would recommend this hotel to seniors or groups if they can affort the price. The hotel is more beautiful than the photos in the internet. Another important comment before a close is that we were dissapointed because they do not have free internet for the guest, they charge and very high.

The hotel was ideally located on the passiag de Gracia, however given it's high rating and 5 stars, I did expect a little bit more. The room was more like a good 4-4.5 stars. The desk staff were professional, but not terribly personal, and when we arrived on 30th December and were inquiring about New Year's eve - their response was that we should have organised something prior to arrival and were not particularly helpful in making suggestions (thank goodness for Maribel's guide to Barcelona). The rooftop terrace, a big selling point was also closed for renovation and we were not told this previously. I think there are better places to stay for the same money.

Positive: staff very professional and service-minded. Negative: standard rooms are TINY. Air conditioning not working properly (only heating). Lots of noise from the busy road. Room service expensive, its quality moderate. Leisure area was closed for renovation (this should be notified when a reservation is made)

Fancy, but strict and unpersonal. Only male staff. Poor beds in standard rooms. Fancy restaurant, but breakfast in the basement in room with no space. The breakfast is NOT worth the money!!

The price agreed upon was not the price I received. There were two reservations instead of one under my name. The first night the room was very noisy; I switched rooms. The hotel is redoing the entire lobby, which we should have known and perhaps gotten some sort of compensation, such as drinks? Pool is tiny.Overall, though, it was great.

Very large hotel. So called priviliged rooms for 60 Euros per not more than standard are only marginal lagrer and not worth the extra price.

We loved the safe, beautiful location and business center in the basement. They didn't seem to mind my teenagers with their "hoodies" look. Upscale shopping next door and throughout avenue. Nearby metro, McDonald's, Gaudi historic sites and late night snack shops.

The Hotel was really nice, excellent location, and really nice communal areas such as the bar near the lobby. Service there was top notch. the pool area is extremely small. I have no idea how they took that picture to make it look large but it is like a kids pool.still nice though

It is really the Majesty a 5 star Luxury hotel? I don't think so. I ordered a superior double room and was like a single one and can you considerate as a Luxury Hotel when the water of the shower comes completely yellow!! Ah! and they don't forget to charge more than 250€ per night!! I will never come back to the Majestic Hotel.

Stanze ben insonorizzate

The Majestic Hotel is in a prime location and is a beautiful hotel. The hotel has a wonderful sundeck and gym facilities - and we were able to work out every day! THe internet access was great in the business center (charge of 15 euros per room per stay to use it) The pool however is much tinier than the pictures. Our main complaint was that the beds were very soft and caused us back pain. When we asked concierge to switch the rooms, they stated that all the beds were similar. They did however give us an option to view another room, which we did, and the beds were the same. Other than this problem, the hotel was amazing and we would stay there again.

5 of us visited Barcelona and the Majestic was an excellent place to stay. The location was perfect 10 min walk to Segrada Familliria, 5 min walk to La Rambla etc. It is also on a crossing point between blue and red lines of the Tourist Bus route. We did not eat at restaurant or have breakfast in hotel, breakfast too expensive at 21 euros each for continental. But it is a top class hotel so no surprise there really. Would stay there again.

The room was extremely noisy and especially at very early hours of the morning. Staff was terrific and location optimal. I would stay again - but be sure to request a room on the higher floors so as to avoid the noise generated by the goings-on of the hotel.

First time we'd stayed at the Majestic and would definately go back. We booked a triple room, One king size and one single bed in an extremely large and spacious room. The room were exceptionally clean and the staff were very pleasant and discrete. The reception staff could not be more helpful. The bar and restaurant were slightly expensive but gave them both an exclusive air. The Majestics location on the Passage de Gracia means that Barcelona's bars and cafes are all within easy walking distance. First class hotel in an excellent location.

2nd visit to the Majestic. Reception very efficient & pleasant. We were able to check in before midday.Given an upgrade to a room with a view of the Passeig Gracia. Only quibble was the very small bathroom. N.B. Do not bother to catch the Tube to the Port outside the Hotel - Line 4 does not connect here but some 500yds away by an undergound tunnel. It's quicker to catch the bus.

It was quite a nice stay at the Majestic, the breakfast buffet is maybe a little bit overpriced but they really feature all the nice aspects you'd expect of a five star hotel like friendly personel, supervised workout area, and even a real person playing the piano in the lounge.

We were looking for a 5 Star hotel to celebrate a special occasion and were happy to spend the additional money. The Majestic is not only indicated as a 5 Star but as a 5L Star hotel on the Venere website. To our horror the first room we were given was extremely small and dark - 3 Star at the very best. After complaining we were given a bigger room. However, this is clearly a 4 Star hotel (as indicated by other websites and some of their own stationary, which varies between 4 & 5 Star descriptions). So, while the hotel is not bad it is clearly incorrectly rated and therefore leads to major disappointments.

The Hotel is in an excellent location for sightseeing around the City, but we were very disappointed when we arrived to find the whole outside of the property shrouded because of ongoing re-furbishment work. We should have enjoyed a great view down the Passeig de Gracia from our room , but instead looked out on scaffolding and a grey curtain. As this work seems to be long term it would have been nice to have been informed before we arrived for our 4 night stay. After all, the Hotel certainly charges 4 star plus prices for room and breakfast. Also, without wishing to appear too homophobic, we were not aware of any Gay festival in Barcelona over the weekend of 28th-31st August, but the hotel was full of gay male couples and there were times in the bar when my wife and I felt like the only heterosexual couple in town!!!......Having said all that, our room was nice and the standard of cleanliness was excellent. I just think we would choose another weekend next time and also check that the beautiful frontage of The Majestic can at least be seen

I was delighted with the location and the hotel and the service. The rooms are a little smaller than expected but did the job. One thing though - I was quoted a price of 479 euro for my four day stay but was required to pay about 550 for the four nights when I got there but apart from that it was excellent. The location is very central but we heard no noise in the room.
