We knew we were paying for the location - so in that respect it was VFM. The hotel was quite noisy both inside and out. What the website fails to mention is the front of the hotel is 10 feet from the steps to a main Metro station so it was bound to be noisy.

The location is perfect. you have the Tube station in front of the hotel. The room was simple but we have no hot water in the bathroom that was too small. However itìs a perfect accomodation for a short period.

I was very happy with the Hotel Suizo; I found some of the reviews to be overly critical. The location is excellent, it is quite noisy but to be expected given its convenient location. I had a single room but it was quite spacious, with a nice big bed. I found the staff particularly helpful (ready to call a taxi without me asking, etc.) and well-organized. A few details (floor tiles in room missing) could be improved, but overall fine - I would definitely return because of the location and good price.

Totally disappointing. Very rude night receptionist. Room had no windows, unless skylight counts as a window. Room was very noisy, and I was unable to sleep because of some noise coming from the roof. Sounded like a compressor trying to start. Did not feel like facing the night receptionist twice. Would not recommend the Suizo Hotel to anyone.

The hotel, apart from the reception area, gives a slightly run-down impression. Or so at least does room 410. Staff is friendly, and efficient in checking guests in and out, but lethargic in reacting to complaints. The air conditioning, when it worked, made the room smell like the inside of a wet vacuum cleaner. This disappeared once it stopped working, which it did, and we were spared heat stroke by the fact that the fan still worked, and that we manage to sleep despite street noise and quite loud music. A broken TV was not changed. The hairdryer in the bathroom was offset on the wall so as to expose the electrical terminals! An assortment of breadcrumbs under the glass-top on the writing desk stayed as long as we did, as did spots of chewing gum on the already quite stained parquet. And then a cockroach manifested itself in the shower, to top it all, as it were. (No compensation offered.)The Sunday continental breakfast (one!) was indespicably uninteresting, but the buffet breakfast (in a next-door hotel) was quite acceptable. In all, I HOPE we were unhappy victims of equally unhappy circumstances.

For the price that we paid,(75€/night) I suppose that the hotel was ok. But we had to change rooms because it was a 2 single beds put together....So 2nd night we had a better room. BUT the noise from outside was horendous!!as if there wasn't any windows!!(we were on 2nd floor...)The hotel was perfectly central, that was very good. The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly every day....

We had one problem with our stay, the shower did not work right, also they are using very old shower heads, which gave hot then cold water, no medium and caused many moments of boiling skin in the shower, they also did some renovations upstairs on our weekend stay which was quite noisy. We stayed in a twin room, it was ok but would have preferred a double but it was last on the site for booking. I recommend it more for young couple for the water problem, but its in a great location, we did love that.

The Location was good for general access to the sights of Barcelona, the little streets surrounding the hotel were a good source for food, entertainment, sightseeing and shopping. Staff at hotel had limited english(as expected)but were helpful. The 3day stay was enjoyable except for the squeeking bed.

Very nice, room a little small but clean and a great price. I will stay here again, It's near so much you can walk to great restaurants, shops, church etc. We did not eat at the hotel, but the bar service was good.

This hotel is in a very good location, very easy to find and very clean. The metro is just outside. The staff were excellent, we had a problem with the phone but as soon as we reported it we had a replacement straight away. The staff were polite and informative. I would recommend this hotel to anybody, in fact a couple of our friends are booking this week.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, right in the centre of barcelona, so of course its a wee bit noisy! The rooms are quite small, fine for a short stay, but if your there longer than a week probably too small! but if your sightseeing and hardly in the room all weekend great!

The welcoming is very poor; and I observed that it was tha same with all the foreign tourists in this hotel. The main problem is that we had to pay twice the taxes (VAT); as I realized it coming back home, I sent them an e-mail, but they answered quite ironicaly and not really politely to me.

The hotel is advertised as completely modernised and redecorated. Facilities to include airconditioning and mini bar. The hotel was infact a building site, covered in scaffolding, dusty, and noisy. When we enquired about the airconditioning, we were told it was not available in May!! Booked double room, given twin room. Mini bar had 3/4 cans soft drink, 2 cans lager. Towels old and tatty. Very disappointed - hotel was nothing like we expected after looking at website.

When we arrived, they did not have out booking. i gave them my comformation print out to show them we had book to which they then said they found it, but i'm not sure they did. the first room they gave us was on a floor that was in the process of being re-decorated with electrical wires hanging from the ceiling(taped at the ends) and decorating gear around and the room had two single beds instead of a double plus it didn't look that good. they finally gave us a double room which was cleaner but the heating was very poor and the sliding window would not lock but having looked outside we decided that no one could climb up and enter the room. by this time we just wanted to get sorted and enjoy Barcelona so i didn't bother to complain about the heating or window. other than that it was excellent. thankyou

I read some other reviews and was surprised at them, after a lovely stay in the hotel. For a 3 star hotel this is as good as you can expect, as for the room, maybe i was lucky but i had a view of the square and yes there was a little noise but if you stay in the city centre you must be prepared for that. The location is great for the gothic city, pacaso museum and the harbour also lots of good food close by. oh yes dont forget the jacuzzi.

The hotel is well located for tourists and is clean and comfortable. However it faces streets on all 3 sides so rooms tend to be noisy - no sleep first night! Staff were friendly and more than happy to move us to a new room on the top floor which was considerably quieter but still not great.
