Hotel (???) fatiscente con camere piccole e rumorose sito in zona fortemente degradata ed insicura. Prezzo ben al di sopra dell'offerta, avvistati topi nella struttura.

The hotel is in the centre of the city, but in a very poor, degraded area. The staff was not very welcoming nor particularly helpful, and the bathroom in the room was dirty and even after the cleaners had gone in the following day it remained in the same condition. For the 60 euros a night that this cost (+10 euros a day parking), we were not satifsfied with the experience.

I cannot understand how this hotel got 3 stars on the first place. I have been to hostels that have been better than this hotel and definitely cleaner. The toilet had the "disinfect anted" sign on it, but when i checked it was dirty: it had sh.t marks all over. I did not want to seat on it as for sure it was full of germs. Also my sheets had a hole on them and in the closet there was only one blanket and one pillow available and it was a 2 single-beds room. It was cold during the night and my brother let the blanket to me and he got frozen. What kind of 3 stars hotel is this?!? They were also cheap on the soap bars and toilet paper!!!Ok, the price was low and even if in internet had written that it was a hostel i might would still choose to go due to the price, but it would be my choice and i would at least had known what to expect.

I saw some negative comments about Hotel Ronda, but I was perfectly happy with the place. The off-night rate was reasonable and I got a good, solid room for the money. It was a little noisy (wood floors, thin walls), but there wasn't much going on to bother me so that was fine. While I didn't investigate this in advance, it turned out to have incredibly easy access to the airport via bus and easy walking access to some prime Barcelona avenues.

The hotel was extremely difficult to find. We drove passed it several times before realizing that it was located in the far left corner outside the plaza. That was even after we had been on the cell phone several times with the desk clerk who was giving directions.

The rooms were very noisy through out the whole night. Trash and dirty brooms were left in the hall way right out side the elevator. The front desk staff was very sweet and checking in and out went smoothly. The area was nice during the day but come dusk it wasn't a good area to be walking in.

Nice hotel for a nice price. Very clean. It has only one disadvantage. Breakfast is available but not very tasty en very expensive (€10 per person).Better take breakfast in a local bar. Personnel is friendly but they could have a better look at the people entry of the hotel. One could enter the hotel and not been recognized. So, everyone not registered could go inside and won't be noticed by the staff.

Worst hotel ever stayed in. In a back alley with kids kicking a ball around till late evening. Scooters and locals in the alleys all night. Basic of basic hotel with no remote for tv, no tea making facilities or anything. Bath which only a midget could fit into. Balcony (in back lane) backed onto residential balconies which we noisy all night. Over price. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

We were told that cats were allowed online (a mistake), and when we showed up with our cat there was an awkward moment. Eventually, we agreed that they'd let us stay "for now" and we'd look for alternate accommodation. When we found alternate accommodation and tried to check out 3 days early (per their original request), they insisted on charging us for the 3 nights that we did not stay there. The double room was quaint, but tiny. The front desk service was good, but the owner of the hotel was persistently contradictory. We ended up filing a claim against the credit card company requesting a refund since the hotel refused. In addition, a group of approximately 20 young people (age 13-15) showed up and the quality of the walls was immediately apparent since we could hear everything from our room. On the last day of our stay, when we were checking out with 6 bags from the top floor, the elevator was broken.

Were woken by drilling and hammering outside our window on 1st morning due to construction work taking place at hotel. After complaining we were moved to another room which was better, however on 2nd morning repairs started on the building in front! Room was basic, but very clean, beds with foam mattresses, little wardrobe space, thin walls, but shower was excellent. Hotel staff were predominantly Oriental and particularly unfriendly in the restaurant at breakfast. We went at beg. of March and there were a lot of other young couples there. The location of hotel is in a side street which was very noisy of an evening until the very small hours! It was close to the Metro, walking distance to Las Ramblas/Plaza Catalunya and a variety of nearby bars, restaurants to choose from. Generally a no frills hotel, but great proximity to other areas and price was reasonable. Take your earplugs tho!

The hotel was quoted 3 stars but it is a 2 stars. During a stay some young people were staying at the hotel and they did party inside a room (they were 20 people in the room 302)until 2 am thursday and friday night! And nobody of the employees came to quiet down! I think it is very scandalous, because inside the hotel it must be quiet!

Fine if you want somewhere cheap which is fairly near to the Ramblas. The hallways and fire escape routes leave a lot to be desired. Good accomodation if you travel with a group of friends: rooms are clean and quite new, a very good offer for the price you pay, but the surroundings of the hotel are not very nice, with some 'walking' girls on the street. If you look for an accomodation for a romantic weekend with your girlfriend look for something else.

Typical of about 100 other hotels in the area/Italy. Just the basic no frills accomodations. If you routinely stay at the Hilton, you won't be happy here. But if you are not rich, and don't expect room service, this hotel is great. The breakfast was better than received at other hotels in the area.

THE HELPFULNESS OF THE STAFF WAS THE ONLY SAVING GRACE FOR HOTEL RONDA. THE HOTELS - 'PAY FULL BILL AT CHECK IN' RULE IS A FIRST AND A NUISANCE, MANAGEMENT ARE NOT VERY KEEN TO ADMIT WHEN THEY'RE WRONG EITHER. THE BATHROOM WAS DIRTY, AS WERE THE TOWLELS AND OUTSIDE THERE WERE PROS******* GALORE!! WE HAD COME FOR A NICE FAMILY HOLIDAY - IT WAS DISGUSTING AND VERY UPSETTING TO SEE ALL THEIR GOINGS ON RIGHT OUTSIDE THE HOTEL, AT ALL HOURS OF THE DAY. IT RUINED THE HOLIDAY FOR US. Good-sized clean and airconditioned room. Central location with most viewable places in walking distance. Parking in hotel for 20€ per day. Payment has to be made upfront (incl. parking). Staff also wants you to leave your car keys at reception (for emergencies). Only way round it is to leave your mobile number. I wasn't called. Very difficult to get there by car, access restricted by system of one-way roads, with none of them leading to the hotel. Ask at reception for best way to get to hotel. In summary, difficult access, demanding payment methods, but very good value for money.

We had wonderful six days in Barcelona at the hotel Ronda. Hotel's location was excellent and the neighbourhood was original and interesting - still missing our morning cigarettes with locals at the small "plaza" next to the hotel. Neighbourhood's "working girls" were patient and caused us no harm. Hotel's breakfast wasn't any gourmet-experience, but got us started and kept us going for a while. And it was included in to the room price! We definitely recommend this hotel and we are willing to stay there again. Don't miss nice restaurants and bars at C/Carme and C/Hospital! The position was wonderful and the neighbours were quiet except for the last evening (Monday!)Take a kettle and iron with you and possibly some cups. Everything worked fine. The worst point was the 89 stairs which would be too much for someone who is not fit! Several things annoyed us. i had asked for a quiet room as my wife is pregnant, so they put us next to a service elevator. Also one night some guests in the room above were having a party, we were unable to sleep until my wife rang reception at 3.00 am. You had to pay for your entire stay at check in (i wonder why??) You had to pay a 20 Euro deposit for the remote control for the romm TV. There were prostitues on every street corner in the surrounding area after dark. Friends of ours booked a three star hotel in Playa de Catalonia (5mins away) and there was no comparison-they had free wine and sanwiches each night in a luxurious lobby. I wouldn't have minded but at over £100 per night Ronda wasn't exactly cheap. One saving grace was the staff who were friendly, polite and welcoming.

I was very disappointed to discover that the main road leading to the hotel was FULL of prostitutes...the surrounds were awful to say the least. The second room we occupied (we had to move from the 1st one because it was unbearably hot) faced the back of some poverty sticken buildings where people yelled and screamed through the night (we had to keep the window open because it would have been too hot otherwise). I find it ridiculous that an extra €4 were charged for the safe seeing that the room wasn't inexpensive to start with. Walking around the city, there were many three-star hotels that were MUCH nicer. The hotel itself is situated between two small, ugly back streets. I was extremely disappointed! I also found it highly unusual that the rooms had to be paid for upon arrival...

Hotel Ronda is a good choice if you wish to stay in Barcalona on a budget, It is well situated if you want to be near the busy Ramblas, the down-side to this is that the streets around the hotel can become a little 'seedy' come nightfall, safety in numbers, that's what i say! The breakfast was very good with everybodies taste catered for. It is true what they say about Barcalona, beware of pickpockets, in our four day stay we saw it happen twice! Despite this we still had a great city break.

The area near the hotel is not very nice for different reasons: though it is not dangerous if you are in group and it is always crowded, there are prostitutes and not very nice people around. Location is not that great, even though Ramblas, Catalunya and even Espanya are within walking distance; it was a bit seedy. Paying on arrival was our only such experience in 6 different places on our trip to Spain. Breakfast is included, and it was quite excellent. Usage of the safe deposit box, on the other hand, was for additional 4 euros a night. Interestingly, water in the bathroom did not run if you did not turn on the light. The hotel was very good value for money. the staff were extremely efficient and the breakfast was excellent. The waitresses constantly cleared and replenished food. The only problem we had was that the room was exceedingly warm at night and when we enquired about the air con we were informed that it wasn't available as it is winter!

Continental breakfast choice - excellent with croissants, sliced bread, muffins, cold meats, cheese, fruit, cereal , fruit juice, tea & coffee, eat/drink as much as you like. Would have appreciated tea/coffee making facilities in room not a common facility in Europe, but we took our own travel kettle etc. Very good value for money accommodation, and would recommend to all. Position of hotel, nr aerobus drop off point, and pick up point for Touristic bus, metro and Pl. de Catyluna -but you had to walk thro'part of the red light district to reach the Ramblas which I thought would be intimidating but they understand the word NO!! All in all, very pleased with my choice - as last year in Barcelona stayed in a much more expensive hotel with less stars which in comparison could now only in comparison VERY basic!!! and there is a very useful lift.

The eating area lacked invite, character. The atmosphere was devoid of spirit, welcome. Not the kind of place to lounge in or bring someone into for company or a chat. I wouldn´t eat there.

Breakfast was poor and the car park difficult to find and manoeuvre.
