Fantastic location, that's what we wanted! In the top top top heart of Barcelona! Rooms were OK! The price was OK too! We stayed 3 nights in Barcelona and we enjoyed our trip very much!! I would recommend Barcelona and hotel Rialto to EVERYONE - you just CAN'T get a better location!!!

The hotel Hall is very nice but all the rest is terrible. Tha halls were full of stuff as they were doing work in the hotel. The carpet was very dirty and apart from the location I would not stay in this hotel again.

Possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Location great and front appearance good but the hotel and rooms were shabby, dirty and dark. My room was down long ill-lit corridors with threadbare carpet over concrete and paint peeling off the wall. It was minute with no window and reeked of smoke. No hairdryers and the lock on the mini safe had already been broken. I asked to change but was told that no other rooms were available for the price I had paid through venere!! they are clearly putting Venere customers in the worst rooms.

The position of the hotel couldn't have been better , but the room was very small. I had written an e-mail to the hotel before our arrival to ask if we could get a quiet room. When we arrived we got a room close to the lift and a number of automats with soft drinks, which was absolutely not a quiet room. When we complained we got another room, but a very small room which absolutely not corresponds with the pictures at venere.

Hotel is in a perfect location, just off Ramblas but still on a good main road (not one of those dark little back streets). We were there for 2 nights only so we really appreciated the close proximity of hotel to main areas. Metro is only approx 100m away too, which made life so much easier. Only down side was all the floors were getting decorated in hallways and therefore we were walking on floor boards to get to room. The other thing was the smell of drains from our bathroom, quite strong at times. However, the location of hotel out-weighs any negative points we had though, once decor is completed i'm sure we'll be back! Great paella restaurant over the road from hotel. Another cracking place to eat is L'Antic Forn, just further up Ramblas (well just off it)...3 courses each and 2 bottles of wine for 60 euros! Well worth checking out!

This hotel is not deserving of a three star rating. It is tired and worn. The hallways are dark and narrow and the paint is soiled. Not all lights in the room were functioning and the shower head was broken. The noise from outside and inside is constant. Walls are thin and not soundproof. Surrounding buildings were under construction or repair and the noise caused many clients to ask for room assignments away from the noise. This said, the hotel is well located within walking distance to many attractions. The front desk staff were friendly and respondent but slow due to the many complaining guests. The breakfast is ample but not tasty. The food service staff were not friendly and appeared generally unhappy.

A very good hotel. They had a waterleak from the roof in the corridor, but it was fixed during the nigth. We had a really nice stay, and I will choose it if I go to Barcelona again.

Hotel in posizione splendida nel cuore del quartiere Gotico a due passi dalla Rambla. Camera confortevole, aria condizionata, tv lcd ma niente frigo!Internet solo a pagamento (anche con il proprio portatile) staff molto gentile. Consigliamo a tutti!

Our room was dirty and the hotel was under construction during our stay. I realize hotels have to update their facilities every so often, but I would have liked to have known beforehand.

The lobby of the hotel looked great and I couldn't wait to see the room - but it wasn't worth it. It was hardly biggern than the so called double bed inside, which was actually a twin bed. This wouldn't have been a big problem, if they didn't roll apart with loud noises on every movement. The walls had bricks and parts of the wall paper were comming off. In the bathroom tiles were loose or even lost. If we hadn't stayed for only one night I whould have asked for a diffenerent room. They are currently renovating, so you could try to get one of the new rooms, maybe you do not hear every sound from the corridor then and the room is in a better shape. The big plus it the great position. You are in the heart of Barcelona and can reach a lot of interesting places by foot (La Rambla less than 5 minutes to walk) and for the rest you can use the good public transportation system.

The hotel personnel were accommodating enough to save some extra luggage we had between our visits there. We stayed there before and after a 7 day cruise out of Barcelona. We had traveled to Ireland for a couple of weeks before we arrived in Barcelona so we had cool weather clothing we did not need in Barcelona or on the cruise.

As a central location for a sight-seeing visit to Barcelona, the Rialto met all our expectations; being so close to the Rambla gave us the opportunity to see all that happens there - and when the Merce05 parade passed up Ferran, we were delighted ! As indicated above, we think the Rialto is excellent and have recommended it to friends.

Good, but small room. Nice hotel, excellent location. Price of the room via venere.com quite reasonable, much lower than stated in the hotel itself (januari). Breakfast buffet at 12 euros o.k, but expensive.

The stay was good, but the shower facilities were average, they need to upgrade these for taller people. The room fronted a laneway which was used all night by people passing making loud noise, which disrupted sleeping. This should be looked into with a change in the glass to stop noise from entering the room of an evening. This is the only hotel in Europe that we had to pay for the safe in our room, which we found unusual. All of the other hotels we stayed in around Europ, had this fee of charge in the room.

Great location in the heart of the city's old quarter. The hotel was fine. The only complaint was the room in which we stayed was very small and devoid of almost all natural light.

The hotel was very cheap by booking via the web site, so we did not expect a palace. It was comfortable and clean. The location was absolutly perfect; central to all the tourist attractions in Barcelona. My only critism is that the rooms on the front of the hotel meant no sleep all night due to noise! However we were quickly moved to the back of the hotel upon request.

My daughter works in Barcelona and I have visited the city four times within the last twleve months this is my first time at the Rialto, the hotel is very central and is two minutes walk to the nearest metro station and all tourist type locations. The hotel is large and clean the rooms are fine with the usual facilities - no radio so unless you can understand spanish tv take some music with you. The downside is that there was a lot of noise from other guests returning back to the hotel late at night and the sound seems to travel very easily and kept us awake. But I think that would be the case in most hotels. Dont ask for a room with a view to the front unless you like noise and are probably one of the late night people. Overall I would recommend the Rialto hotel.

On hotel's website all rooms had hairdryers, soundproof, cable TV and piped music. No hairdryer, could hear noises from adjoining rooms and outside and no piped music. No cable TV only local spanish television. When asked at reception about hairdryer was good as told to go out and buy one.But showed a printout of their website had one the next day.Recieved it with no apology .Not very good security with the rooms.Good point that it is very central for site seeing around Barcelona.

The hotel was very nice and the staff where very nice, although they did not speak english very well. The hotel breakfast was very nice, but the main meals where not so good and very overpriced for what you got on your plate. The rooms we had did not have any outside ventalation so the room was very hot and there was no way of cooling it down at night. In the hallways there was a very pungent smell, I can only asume this was coming from the sewer system, when the hotel was full, and everybody was changing to go out at night. The hot water system failed twice during our stay. I think the system was on a timmer so you cant get a shower till after 5pm, although it was ok in the mornings. Apart from all the above the hotel is very nice and I would go there again..
