Good location, just a 5 minute walk to the Placa de Catalunya (and pretty easy to catch the Aerobus to the airport in the morning). The staff was very accomodating and helpful. Room was not the biggest, but OK size for the price. Only complaint was that the walls were a little thin when it came to other guests coming in late.

Nice hotel, very conveniently located in the Gothic section of town. The staff speak English well and were very helpful. Good internet availability. Price was fair for the location. It was a little tough to find, but GPS got us there.

I've been there on December 08 and the hotel was fine. It is in the middle of the nice Gothic quarter of Barcelona. Rooms are not very large but perfectly furnished, and you've got a lot of TV Channels, though most of them in Spanish. There is a free Internet post.

Very friendly and accommodating at reception. Generous with Cava and lovely green apples. They looked after our bags on the day we checked out until we left for the airport. There was a mixture of older couples and groups and the hotel was very quiet at night.

Nice hotel and excellent location in the walking area of the Gotic quarter. The room was a bit noisy during the night due to trash collection and people making noise. Expensive (but good ) breakfast.

One member of my party was unable to travel. Staff at hotel were very helpful and efficient in allowing us to amend our booking. Reception staff could not have been more helpful or welcoming. We especially appreciated the complimentary refreshments and the discounted breakfast on the first morning. We rate this hotel very highly!

Perfect location for the old town, yet still quiet. Very welcoming staff on the front door. Comfort for the price was excellent, and I would definitely consider staying next time I come to Barcelona, something I can't say about other places in town where I have stayed.

This location in the Gothic section was really fun. It was nice to walk out the door and be right in the middle of the section. The beds were on the hard side though that did not really bother us. The staff at the desk were always helpful. The price was OK,less than the big hotels and more intimate. The US dollar is not worth that much right now and therefore anywhere we stayed would be alot.

Can recommend this hotel. In a fabulous position,so close to cathedral, museums & other landmarks.Very quiet,a plus in Barcelona, & clean.Front desk staff unable to advise location of laundromat & how to catch train to airport,(we eventually found them ourselves), but otherwise helpful & friendly.Pastry/coffee shop diagonally across road, great for cheap breakfast.

Excellent hotel, wonderfully located in the bario gotico, very close from the cathedral, the rambla, and a subway station. Free internet available. Spacious rooms, very quiet. One could wish some more space in the arrival hall, which looks more like a corridor tha a hall

Very centrally located in the Barri Gotic, reception staff knew English and were extremely friendly, 3 minutes from the Rambla and within walking distance from metro, good shops and interesting sites. Couple of good pastry shops and excellent tapas bar in the hotel street. Will return to this hotel.

The hotel is in the middle of barri gotika and close to Las Ramblas. It's clean and comfortable, I had a single room which was about the size of a walk in closet but had everything that I needed including a nice sized bathroom. But, the barri gotika, I've been told has a fairly high crime rate so be aware when venturing out at night. (I didn't have problems.)

Most taxis do not drive up to the hotel because it's actually a walking area. From the Rambla it's quite easy to find by foot though. The reception was very nice with Cava. They told us we could get 50% off the first breakfast if we would sign up for breakfast right away. We decided to go for it, and were quite happy because the breakfast was pretty good. Personally I like having a buffet style breakfast. If you just want coffee and one type of dish, there are plenty of cute restaurants all around the hotel, so then there is no need to get the quite expensive breakfast. Free internet and a printer are provided on the main floor which is also very convenient. The room we had was quite small and stuffy and we were kind of turned off by the hairs we found on the toilet and bidet. The biggest problem we had with the hotel was that it was very cold in the room. Freezing. They told us that the heating was turned off because the summer was to be starting. We were there in the end of March. So, there was no way to turn the heat back on, and all they could provide us with were 3 nasty thin blankets which did not keep us warm. I had to sleep in a wool sweater! Thus, in the end, we felt like the hotel was much to expensive for what you get. The only really nice thing was the location, which is really excellent.

We stayed at the hotel in Mars 08 for 4 nights. The hotel has en excellent location, just a few steps from La Rambla , but still in very nice and quiet surroundings. Rooms were small but clean and nice, with comfortable and rather spacious bathrooms. Staff were kind and helpful, and the breakfast-buffet was delicious. We would absolutely like to stay here again.

great inexpensive central hotel; friendly staff. A kettle in the room would've been nice. Not a particularly fancy place but more than adequate for a couple of nights. We stayed in a twin room with a window looking into the atrium so no view but that wasn't a big deal as we were out most of the time.

The hotel was in an excellent position, although the taxi driver on arrival could not take us to the door and we had a little trouble find the entrance. The rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet, but did lack any views from the windows. We were welcomed with a glass of champagne which was a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My wife & I stayed at the H10 Raco del Pi in Sept 07 for 3 nights. The hotel was clean & tidy with polite staff. The room was pretty small & had no view but it was fine for our needs (very clean etc.) The thing to note is that the hotel is in a superb location! Only moments away from La Rambla & the stunning maze of streets & alleys of the Barri Gothic. Our favourite bar was called "Dusk" & was on a little street called "Marquet" just up from "Colom" which is the main steet running along the bottom of La Rambla. I love Barcelona & would definately stay at the H10 again.

Posizione ottima e personale molto disponibile.

We had a great time in Barcelona with the hotel between the Ramblas and Barri Gotic. Couldnt ask for a better location,on a pedestrianised area so therefore nice and quiet at night. Free cava on arrival and a half price breakfast the next morning which was sufficient although I wouldnt like to pay the full price of 30 Euros. Room was spacious very clean and had everything you'd expect. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. Would have no hesitation in staying at the Hotel Raco del Pi again.

We were surprised to find that the hotel was situated in a pedestrian area, but the location was exellent. Very close to everything. The staff was very friendly, and the welcoming surprisingly nice with wine. Breakfast was good, but too expensive to have every day, so we ate breakfast at one of many nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. We also tried some very nice and quiet restaurants nearby at night - with success. Close distance to Salvador Dali museum and Picasso museum, and in the middle om the shopping area. Barcelona has something for all people, and I would definately stay at Racó del Pi if I go back.

Barcelona is a great place to visit and the Hotel Raco del Pi puts you right at the heart of the old centre, with the cathedral just round the corner. Las Ramblas is just a minute away (with a metro station only a few minutes' walk). The hotel is in a pedestrian area so there's no traffic noise and there are shops and bars all around - and the shops open until about 9pm. The staff speak English and are helpful and professional. The buffet breakfast is not cheap at 15 euros but it's a superb spread, with cereals, fruit, cold meats, hot bacon & egg, pastries, etc, all well presented and fresh. A 50% discount applies to the first breakfast of your stay. Free cava and free computer access - I could check-in for my BA flight home and print my boarding card (in colour)before leaving the hotel.

Very good hotel! We got a rather tiny room at 2nd floor first, but after first night stayed at 4th floor, quiet and spacy. The location is superb and the hotel is a great place to stay. I would call it a nice straight forward hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. No problems staying there again. The best rooms are probably those with the lower room numbers (below XX6)

This hotel really surpassed all of our expectations! A very warm welcome was much appreciated and the staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The only comment I would make is that as the weather was cold the room (especially the floor) was also very cold. The heating did not work either but I thought initially that this was due to my not understanding the controls. I should have raised this problem with the staff as I am sure it would have been resolved. There were extra blankets in the wardrobe which were very welcome! I was also expecting a double room and not two single beds pushed together. The location of the hotel was perfect and the staff were extremely helpful. I would certainly choose to stay at this hotel again when I next visit Barcelona.

We receieved a very warm welcome. Champaign and fruit even though it was very late at night. The only negative thing was the rooms were not quiet at all. I don't believe it was anything the hotel has control over, but you can hear everything! People talking on the street, dogs barking, people in the next rooms etc.
Heterosexual Couple

We found this hotel to be quite good on the whole. Our only negative points are the noise coming from outside which seemed to go on most of the night, and the breakfast which at 14 euros is way overpriced when there are other alternatives not five minutes walk away.

Elegant and small hotel in midst of Gothic Neighborhood. Large improvement over another place I had booked earlier in the trip. Staff were VERY kind and helpful - referred me to a wonderful nearby restaurant and reliably provided me with an early, early wake-up call. Arrival taxi dropped me off on Ramblas, but it was only a short distance to hotel. Departure taxi for a very early morning flight picked me up right at the door. Upon arrival registration clerk said, "Why don't you have a seat and a glass of Cava while we check you in...?" Try that at Ramada! I would highly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again if ever in Barcelona!

The room was enormous and quite lovely. However, the window to the courtyard did not open and the air conditioning did not function. Therefore, our room often became uncomrtably hot during the night. The staff, with the exception of one member, were unfailingly nice and professional. One woman, who appeared to be a manager, was rude and offensive. I would think twice about staying at this hotel knowing that she is an employee serving in a supervisory capacity.

The location of the hotel had it's pros and cons. The pro was that it was very central but and the con was that the location brought with it a lot of noise. At night you have people coming back from bars , street cleaners etc and during the day the hussle and bussle of a city centre street. This would have been greatly improved if the windows had been double glazed. We visited in November and the noise was bearable but I would imagine that during the summer sleeping would be fairly difficult. Hotel staff, facilities etc were all excellent.

This hotel was a bargain for the location. Free internet was a bonus and the staff was very helpful and spoke english. We did not have the breakfast at the hotel or eat there. It is downtown a two minute walk to the la rambla. Very close to a metro stop and very close to walk to the water front. We had a bit of trouble finding it as it is in the small streets of the old town but once you find the street the hotel is easy to find. I don't know how you would access this hotel by car but as the streets appear to be pedestrian only. Overall excellant hotel and we enjoyed our stay, staff was excellent.

The room and location were both excellent. The employees however were quite rude when a problem arose. When a second problem arose they were hostile for no reason. It was obvious to me that a language barrier had created an issue but they insisted that I lied to them. Not what I would expect from a hotel of that price range and appearance. Because of having a bad experience with multiple employees I would never stay here again and would never recommend it to anyone.

Suggestion: for customers arriving by car it would be usefull to inform them that the hotel cannot be reached by car, and refer them to the nearby carpark (€ 20,= per night!!). Comment 1: pitty you cannot open the the windows (kind of claustrofobic effect). Comment 2: very nicely situated in the hart of the pedestrian historic area.

Location is excellent - very central to all amenities and services. We were allocated a 'top floor' room which had no windows!!. Admittedly, we had made our booking for the accomodaton just a day before we actually arrived but the room we were given was at the back of the hotel near the lift. The fact that it was at the back meant that we did not have a window at eye level which made the room quite claustrophobic. Being near the lift meant that it could be quite noisy when the lift arrived. Apart from that, the room was clean and practical

The hotel is comfortable and very well located for visiting the Barrio Gothic and for transport from Pl Catalunya (eg Airport bus and tourist buses). However we struggled to find the hotel because the web site gives no directions, and the map is useless. Arriving after 10pm we found the hotel locked because the receptionist was doing bar duty! (We had indicated our arrival time by e mail). Should they have one or two more people on duty? Given that the hotel was full, there seems no reason not to. Comfort level was good, but we opted not to take their breakfast at 14 Euros since there are so many local cafes where a coffee and croissant can be purchased (sitting in a nice square) for less than 2 Euros. Why pay more? Similarly we always ate out in the evenings, so can't comment on the cuisine. Would we stay there again? Yes, the location is excellent and overall the hotel is good.

only one minor complaint: as the rooms are done twice a day, it was rather difficult to have a siesta on the day of arrival, due to quite loud noise from chambermaids. i was also intrigued by the fact that some guests were greeted with a glass of cava but we were not. Was this because we booked independently rather than through a tour operator? having "done" most of the major european cities, this hotel was definitely the best in this price range; more like a 4* than a 3*. the breakfast at 14 euro is expensive but worth every penny if you feel like treating yourself.

This is a nice hotel in a brilliant, central location just near the medieval cathedral. It is in a nice, bustling street and benefits from being back from the Ramblas. I would definitely recommend this hotel in a city which is renowned for it's high-priced hotels.

A most comfortable, clean and well run hotel in a central position near the Cathedral. An excellent breakfast is available, and we would certainly use this hotel again.

We loved Raco del Pi. The incoming cab couldn't drop us at the door, but the short walk was pleasant. I chose the area because cars can't get in. The cab out came right to the door. The hotel is a feast for the eye architecturally. The staff recommended a great restaurant, Vinisim. Walking around Barcelona will populate my memory unitl I die and Raco del Pi is part of that happy memory.

Centrally located in a historic and scenic location, the large clean rooms, excellent bathrooms and friendly staff make this the best hotel, of this price range, I've ever stayed in.
