Basic room with shower and toilet. Positive: close to a few metro stations, fairly clean, cheap for Paris standard Negative : we were on top floor , 6 flights of spiral staircase with no lift Rudimentary services but if all you need is a room while exploring Paris, it's a fairly good deal

Excellent location. Price is steep, and no breakfast but hotels are generally expensive in Beautiful Barcelona (What a place!)There's a great spot for pastries and breakfast across the street so no problem. You're close to Plaza Catalunya for easy walk from the bus that brings you from the airport or for Metro line. Rooms were nice and quiet. Would stay here again or similar category in the same area. Note though that November can be an awfully rainy month, and chilly. It rained the whole time we were there. Make the best of it and be sure to get into those architecturally amazing buildings, and eat and drink your heart out! You can bask in the sun some other time ;-)

Nice hotel, clean and spacious room, friendly staff. Pl. de Catalyna, Rambla and Metro stations are in walking distance. Comprehensive warm and cold breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, the service was very slow so that fruits, eggs and bread had not been availabale at any time. The laptop in the room, which was advertised during booking, was very old and didn't work satisfying. So did the computers in the public area. However, the friendly staff did the online check-in of our flights. Finally, we would book this hotel again when staying in Barcelona.

Great location--can walk to tons of restaurants and bars! The room was a lot nicer than we expected for the price. I definitely recommend staying here. One great surprise was a laptop with internet access in our room. There was some construction going on across the street from the hotel, which was pretty noisy, but we slept fine with the windows closed.

Great location and within walking distance to La Ramblas and subway. It's a real treat to have a laptop in the room and free internet. Check in was easy and receptionist was very efficient and friendly. Beware of pickpockets targeting new arrivals at the hotel and keep an eye on your luggage while checking in. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent place to stay, a few hundred meters from Placa Catalunya. Restaurants, bars etc just a stone-throw away.... Short walking distance to old city, La Rambla, main shopping streets etc, and if need for metro or bus, more or less all possible stops can be reached from Placa Catalunia. Airport bus stops just 200 meters from the hotel, so the location is amazing, right into the middle of the city but anyway quiet and aside the main street. The rooms are great with a fantastic bath room with a lot of space, massage shower and all possible equipment incl hairdryer. The room itself is large and very nice equipped, and the free laptop at the room is great to use. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, there is a nice little place close to the hotel, with coffee, snadwich and orange juice for €2,90 compared to the hotel price of €15,00. We will definitely return to this place when in Barcelona next time. Hard to see that something can be better......

Breakfast is a minimum of whats expected (egg, bacon, jamon, pastries, cheese, ham, fruit, yogurt, bread, fresh juice, coffee, tea) and tasteful. The location is perfect for shopping, tourism and restaurant. Staff serviceminded, friendly and comptetent.

I´ve been to another property of the same group - the Petit Palace Marqués de Santa Anna, in Seville, just a few days before, and was not surprised with the excellent quality of the rooms - mine had two spacious and well decorated ambients, and a bathroom with a whirpool bath, which allowed us having a comfortable rest after a day of exhausting walking. There was some noise coming from next rooms and corridors, but nothing to be taken seriously. For me and my wife, the location is perfect, close to Plaza Catalunya and the Ramblas, but conveniently out of the crowded surroundings of the Ramblas. Staff is nice, and the same qualities seen in the other Petit Palace hotels are present: free wi-fi acess and computer with internet acess in each room, bikes to freely use... I strongly recommend this hotel, and certainly would return in the future...

We found the hotel to be well placed and within a few minutes walk of a metro station and the main central square of Placa cataluyna, a very good location not too far away from shops, restaurants and transport links and very easy to access the hop on/off tourist bus which was invaluable for seeing barcelona on a first visit. Our room was facing the back of the hotel which we found to be a little noisey at night due to all the air condensation units being placed in this area. (a little annoying but not a major dis-appointment)

We stayed in Barcelona for 4 days over the F1 race weekend. The only issues we encountered were when we first arrived. The site indicates that the rooms are available at 2pm, and that was not the case, nor could they tell us when they would be ready. Other than that the room was very nice, excellent to have a laptop in the room. The location was excellent, a 5 min walk to most major attractions.

We(three of us) had a junior suite which was spacious and very comfortable. Loved having a laptop in the room to check e-mail. Great location -- close enough to Las Ramblas, but quieter area. Near to very best tapas restaurant we encountered in Spain (Ciudad Condal) and other restaurants and cafes. (For American coffee lovers: Starbucks only a block away.)

The hotel is very modern and decor is dark which made it seem a bit dreary inside. It was a nice touch to have computers in every room. The bathrooms were so modern we found it difficult to keep the water in the sink and the showers have multiple sprays which added to my amusement. We didn't have much contact with the hotel staff but check in and out was efficient. The hotel is within walking distance of Place de Catalonia so conveniently located. We took the hop on hop off bus as some of the sights are spread out, we did the 2 day pass and certainly used all of the time

The location is simply unbeatable. You can get a wonderful breakfast just outside the hotel (turn right when you go out). No noise from the outside, but the door provides only mild insulation from whatever takes place in the corridor. (Overall, this is not a serious problem and perhaps I noticed only because I stayed in quite a lot.) Only glitch in the four days I stayed is that room service never took place before 16:00: this is slightly inconvenient if you need to work at the hotel as I had to.

The location of Petit Palace Musemum is superb. It is within walking distance to the high end shops on Diagonal as well as the more mass market brands near Catalunya. The area feel safe. It is also close to the Hop on and Hop off bus. Just beware that the bus offers 1 day and 2 days trips, not 24 hours and 48 hours trips like what you get in London. This hotel is very charming. The interior is ultra modern and the exterior is very traditional. We were given 2 rooms with balconies facing the main street. I just love the balconies. They are so romantic. There are double panel glass door to the balcony so the room is very quiet. The front desk staff's recommendation of a resturant called "piscolabis" is not to be missed. The tapas and Sangrina are yummy.

This was a great hotel, it was close to all the sights, a delightful neighborhood. Maria at the desk was wonderful and so patient with our limited Spanish. We had the family room with our 2 college age children and it was very spacious. We stayed at 2 other Petit Palace Hotels in Spain and they couldn't compare, this was by far the best experience.

The welcome was perfectly efficient but not over friendly. The room was slightly smaller than hoped for, but otherwise was wonderful. Spotless and comfortable (really cool chairs), and the bathroom was top class. Location was great. We were within walking range of most of the sights, although for non walkers, there is an excellent hop on, hop off tourist bus service with a stop near to the hotel. You can check on the in room laptop computer for full details. Barcelona is well worth visiting, although UK visitors should be aware that the strength of the Euro v the Pound (November 2008) means that bargains are hard to find. The price of breakfast in the hotel is a bit steep and can easily be beaten elsewhere. I would gladly stay in this hotel again and following my recommendation, one of my friends has already made a reservation for their forthcoming visit.

This hotel was great for a weekend break. We were looking for a young and funky hotel for a great price in a good area and that's exactly what we found. The room was enormous there were three of us (in our late 20s) and we were designated a family room (which is one double bed plus a bunkbed!) and it was full of gadgets, including free internet access. I guess if you were looking to stay for longer than a weekend the hotel may feel a little sterile (we actually saw about 2 other guests during our whole stay) BUT in terms of location, price and facilities I'd definitely reccomend it. Only negative was that we arrived to find the mini-bar hadn't been cleaned out and it took us 2 days to finally get them to sort it out.

Can't quite explain here how good this hotel is. We have stayed in Barcelona on four previous occasions and rooms in the city tend to be on the small side (Hotel Royal on the Ramblas apart. We booked a family room including bunk beds for the two kids and were upgraded to a suite with a sofa bed, terrace and hot tub. The staff are very friendly and the rooms modern, clean and quiet. Very close to Placa Catalunya, making it walking distance from the Airbus - and central to everything (next door to the Ritz). Another couple who travelled with us had a standard double room that also was superb and enjoyed views of the Copper dome of the Comedy Theatre in the street behind. All in all an excellent location. PS The bathrooms are fantastic - great power showers.

Despite having been informed on the booking that we were travelling on our honeymoon, we were given a twin-bedded room, rather than the double requested. The staff were very happy to move us, but the new room was right next to two that were being (noisily) renovated. No effort was made to make our honeymoon special, which was a little disappointing - perhaps they didn't believe us as we were travelling with children. The older kids really appreciated the computer in their room. Overall a very nice, modern hotel, but somehow lacking in a personal touch.

Only negative comment: Very strong smell of adhesive/glue in Reception, also got this smell as we went along the corridor to our room , thankfully once inside the room it was fine.
