Hotel Jazz is a terrific Hotel in a great location. The rooms are spacious, spotless and silent. The hotel is close to everything you want to enjoy in Barcelona. We stayed for seven nights and we were delighted with our choice.

Great location easy access to transportation. Would definitely come back. The staff was very helpful & they have a wonderful pool & cabana on the rooftop. They should advertise this amenity plus the cute bar on the first floor.

Clean and very spacious corner triple room that was more than big enough for 3 people. With traffic on both sides of the building, the corner room was a bit noisy, but with good windows, great matresses and ear plugs we all slept well. Staying on floor 6 also helped reduce noise. Greatest feature: Pool and lounge area on the roof top which was much better than viewed in pictures, great when traveling with children. Hotel is perfectly located with shops, restaurants, la Rambla within walking distance, also metro station close by. Highly recommended.

I stayed at the Hotel Jazz in July 2011 and it was great! that is why I came back in January with my daughter for a New Year's holiday. The staff is very helpful and friendly specially Xavier at the front desk. My 4 days at the hotel in 2012 were really nice and we even got a bigger corner room this time. The Jazz hotel is well located within walking distances to quality shopping, restaurants, museums, the metro... tho it is located in a quiet side street. The rooms are modern, with very comfortable beds and spacious! My daughter and I loved to go to the pool on the roof for a view of Barcelona and enjoy drinks there. The best value for a hotel in Europe!

The hotel was beautiful, clean and in a great location. But there was no fan in the bathroom, resulting in water damage on walls and ceiling, staff that barely spoke English other than at reception - the waiters at breakfast didn't understand a word of English which was difficult. Some staff members were plain rude - for example on the day we left I asked to fill up my baby's bottle with water and was told no, but you can buy a bottle of the bar. Nice hotel but over priced and poor custome service.

We were in Barcelona for 4 nights and had an amazing time. Hotel Jazz was perfect, very modern and very clean. The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful, they advised us which tour to do and also told us of some fantastic restaurants. The only downside was that the hot breakfast wasn't hot at all but there was so much other food to have that it didn't bother us. I would highly recommend this Hotel

We stayed at Jazz on two occassions during our holiday in Spain and both times we were really impressed. On the first occcassion, we arrived in Barcelona very weary after 33 hours flying from New Zealand so were delighted to find reception staff welcoming, helpful and no languages difficulties and a great room. The hotel is just away from Los Rambles so noise was not an issue. We've never slept better. The hotel is very well placed for all tourist attractions and transport. Altough we don't usually use hotel breakfast facilities, we did at Jazz which was superb and enabled us to have breakfast before much else was open. Very helpful for tourists eager to get going in the morning. The roof top pool and bar area was a great place to relax for a drink after a hard day's sightseeing. At the end of our trip we spent another two nights at Jazz and it was like coming back to an old friend before our equally long flight back to New Zealand.

The ideal hotel for a stay in the heart of Barcelona. Although the surrounding is rather busy, the rooms are very quiet. It is a very clean hotel, the breakfast-buffet was great and the swimming-pool on the roof just sensational. The value for money compared to similar hotels in Barcelona is excellent. We were four people and all of us were very satisfied.

We have been in Hotel Jazz earlier, too. It is a very good option with a central location. The staff speak good english. Extra bonus now in summer season is a roof terrace with swimming pool. Cleanliness of the room we evaluated rather poor, because the cleaning of the room was not ready when we returned from the beach for siesta at 4 pm.

POSITIVES: Excellent central location. Car parking under the hotel - could get car easily at any time. Breakfast good range and quality. Easy to find, located at junction of two wide streets. Overall a good four-star hotel. MILD NEGATIVES: Value for money: Barcelona is an expensive city, but we managed to get a similar quality hotel, in a central location, on the same booking terms in Madrid for about 35% less than the Jazz. Our Jazz bedroom was small and cramped (and the black decor and black ceiling made it seem even smaller), although the bathroom was OK. BIG NEGATIVES: They don't let you borrow an iron, forcing you to use their pressing service which is expensive and is not working if you arrive late at night as we did. So bring your own iron!

The hotel is very well situated. Only thing to consider is the room situation. Two sides of teh hotel are facing very busy streets and sound proof can be improved. Breakfast is great for teh price. Parking in the basement is rather expensive (24€/day) but cheaper than other public parkings.

My husband and I concluded our cruise with a 3-day stay in Barcelona. The hotel allowed us a very early morning check-in without any question. What a great introduction to Barcelona! We were able to walk out and immediately explore the city which was very easy because of the hotels location close to La Rambla. We had easy access to all shopping and the metro. The staff was very knowledgeable about the city and spoke excellent English. Our room was very dark and quiet at night. I recomment taking the city's tour bus which is easy to catch at Catalunya square. You can see all the city on the cheap and they run every 5 minutes.

My boyfriend and I spent three nights at Hotel Jazz. It was close to absolutely everything and we had a very easy time getting around. Most impressive was the helpfulness of the staff. When we missed our train to go to San Sebastian, they arranged for us to have our old room back at the same rate and called the hotel in San Sebastian to let them know the situation and request that we wouldn't be charged. It was fantastic. Also, the pool and roof are great - a nice bonus that is hard to find!

We arrived very early 09:30 from cruise ship and did not expect our room to be ready. Our luggage was kept securely until we returned to the hotel in the afternoon. After hearing numerous stories about thefts from hotel foyers it was comforting to note that there was always someone on the public side of the desk just keeping an eye on people entering the hotel. The room was clean, bright and comfortable. If you had the misfortune to have missing or lost luggage, everything was provided to let you face the world refreshed. Hotel location was good for shopping and sightseeing.

Stayed for the weekend in a double room in the Hotel Jazz. Room was all we expected and staff were welcoming and friendly. Bed was great size. Only slight quibble was we found the A/C a bit draughty - i.e. room temp was fine but draught was blowing onto the bed! Otherwise, great and would recommend it - despite being on a noisy street windows blocked out all the noise. Plenty of places nearby for breakfast and highly recommend the gourmet walking tour from the tourist office.

This is one of the very best urban hotels we have ever stayed in, at a very reasonable price, considering location and quality. We stayed a week. For the last night the hotel arranged for us to change rooms on the same floor, because the toilet flushing mechanism in the first room had suddenly stop working (something that can happen, even with quite new, high quality equipment, which we certainly found in the bathrooms). Both rooms were quite spacious, the second a bit more so than the first. The first room was at the back of the hotel; the second overlooked a busy street, but was still very quiet, due to good construction. We took the advice we found on venere, and did not take breakfast in the hotel. The breakfast coffee and croissants we liked best were at Ciudad Condal, across the Gran Via and two blocks toward the Plaza de Catalunya. In locating the hotel it may be helpful to know that it is close to the Plaza de la Universitat, on the left side of Pelai coming from that Plaza. We would certainly stay at Hotel Jazz again, and would recommend it to just about anyone.

The rooms and bathrooms are good sized, clean and nicely appointed. We did not use the breakfast service. The location couldn't be better. Public bus service from the airport to Placya Catalunya is 4.05 Euro and runs every 5-10 minutes. The hotel is a few minutes walk from there. Taking a shower was tricky at first due to the lack of a shower curtain or closing shower door. but except for this minor inconvenience, the Hotel Jazz is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Great location, very nice staff, just a great place to stay in Barcelona. My only regret is that it was too cold to take advantage of the roof-top pool.

We strongly recommend Hotel Jazz. It is a modern design hotel and its location is excellent, only 200 m. from Placa de Catalunya and 50 m. from the metro station Universitat. The staff at the reception desk was very friendly. Our double room was clean and spacious, like a suite. Please, note that breakfast is not included in the price of the room.

I booked this hotel for my parents based on the excellent reviews it had received here and on Tripadvisor. When they returned they were not quite as enthusiastic as I had expected. They agreed the location was excellent and the hotel very nice. However, what was not made clear in other peoples reviews was that this is essentially a business hotel and lacks any sort of informal seating area where you can sit in the company of other guests and relax (Perhaps, this is the case with the rooftop bar in the summer, but it was closed for winter). The other disappointment as raised by other reviewers was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

This was our first trip to Barcelona and we did not know what to expect. For us, the hotel was ideally located. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. The only thing we would change is to have access to the roof top patio in the evenings. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean, chic, contemporary, but not costly. Hotel Jazz is the perfect place to relax and unwind next to the roof top terrace swimming pool, after a busy day in the hustle and bustle of central Barcelona, the Ramlas, wonderful tapas and fabulous culture. Definitely recommend it.

This is a fabulous Hotel and the staff are really as friendly other reviewers have said. The reception staff have great English and gave us lots of advice re maps etc. They also kindly booked us a restaurant when asked. No breakfast but right next door to the Hotel is a great little cafe/deli excellent for morning coffee/croissants and late night pizza and wine! And right next door to this cafe is a hairdressers if like us you fancy your hair done for nights out. Pool area is gorgeous and clean as is all the hotel. We have already recommended this hotel to anyone we know traveling to Barcelona. Wish i could go back soon?!

The staff were particularly wlecoming and helpful. There are other hotels closer to the Ramblas, but the Jazz is only a short walk from the centre and feels very safe in a city known for petty crime. Bareclona has excellent public transport.

Hotel Jazz was in a graet location. The room was very clean and modern and the hotel staff were very helpful. I would definately stay again and have already recommended it. Barcelona is a wonderful city and I am looking forward to returning. My only comment would be to avoid the pricey bars and resturants on Les Ramblas, venture off the track a bit and there are some great alternative choices.

Excellent location, easy to walk to Las Ramblas, and could practically fall out of bed and into the subway. Lower floor rooms can be noisy because of the trains rolling underneath, so ask for an upper floor. Very gracious staff.

Hotel was very good and would recommend it. We were in a suite (can't book on line), and well worth the 50 euro upgrade. Location excellent and for this city it was relatively quite. If there was a complaint it was that we had to be out of the room (check out) for 12.00 exactly, and from 11.30 onwards we were contacted several times which was annoying having spent 4 nights there. This was a leisure weekend, but I travel all over the world and this is an excellent Hotel and would recommend.

I stayed at Hotel Jazz for four nights and found it to be an excellent place, right in the middle of Barcelona with walking distance to all interesing places and shopping. Superb service, good breakfast, good wifi connection, and everything looking new and fresh. The rooftop pool was closed at this time of year, but the place was also excellent for sitting and reading in the sun. The metro was only 100m away, with connection to train RENFE. I will absolutely recommend this to anyone, beeing a business traveller or for holidays. I will be back)

The hotel was of an excellent standard in a convenient position - near shops and metro & walking distance from the drop-off point for the airport bus (less than 5 minutes) - slight rumbling of metro did not disturb us at all. Beds comfortable. No drawer space in the main area of the bedroom or bathroom - all personal bits on display or had to be put in the wardrobe or safe. Nice to have free Internet access. Good to have a little space for milk etc in the minibar fridge. I took a travel kettle which was very useful. Also took my own hairdryer - the hotel one was okay but did not have the cold air blast facility which I need. Two problems which might not affect some people but did me. 1. The bathroom - fixed shower screen meant I had to climb into the bath to put the plug in before I could fill it with water for a bath. No problem if you wanted a shower. Also occasional bad drain smell - a problem that seems common in Barcelona 2. I chose the Jazz Hotel because of the good reviews but the deciding factor was the supposedly open outdoor smimming pool. It was closed for some repairs. This was not communicated to me either by Venere in advance (I asked if it would be open but did not receive a reply) or by the hotel on arrival. This meant I returned from sightseeing at 4:15 in order to swim before the pool closure at 5:00 but found it to be closed. The hotel staff did their best to find a soluion but it involved travelling 3 stops on the metro to a sister hotel or taking a taxi or moving to that hotel in a less convenient location - and we had already unpacked. We were compensated for the loss of facility but I was very disappointed. I love swimming outdoors in any weather and we were blessed with beautiful sunshine in January. If I were to go to Barcelona again I would happily stay there (if I knew the pool was open!).

Excellent hotel! Rooms are big and very confortable, there is lot of space for clothes and luggage, an in-room safe, flat screen TV, the bathroom is beatiful with a real hairdryer and they give you three towels/person and all needed for toilet (and change all everyday). During the night you can hear the underground (our room was in the fifth floor) but it is not a real problem. The location is very good, is nearer to Pl. Universitat than Pl. Catalunya, but it is a very short walk, and you can get to lot of places on foot.

It would be an advantage and an attraction if a full or continental breakfast at a reasonable price was available but, on the other hand, it was enjoyable finding interesting cafes for breakfast
