Hotel Hesperia del Mar - Barcelona

Wanted a hotel by the beach and it was a perfect location. The closest metro was not really that close, but bus 41 takes you to Placa Catalunya and stops out front. Nice hotel, clean rooms.

Bad wifi reception, awesome shower gel, took a long time to check in. but good value for 62 EUR

As with most European hotels, the room was small by American standards. However, the people were very nice and quite helpful. The location was quite good - very near the HOHO bus stop and within blocks of a shopping center.

Excelent hotel for young couple. Very easy to get at any location you want and quite surrounding. Many parks, cheap restaurants and supermarkets around, also it's very near the beach. Everything was fine in the room.

Albergo molto bello, a pochi metri dalla spiaggia di Mar Bella. L'autobus 41 ferma davanti all'albergo e collega al cenro città, quindi comodissimo, però non svolge servizio notturno; comunque la metropolitana è a 10 minuti a piedi e c'è un altro autobus che ferma vicino. Lo consigliamo!

Great value. Right on the water. There's a public beach across the street, and it's a short walk to the marina/harbor where there are plenty of restaurants. Metro access is convenient (<1km).

When we arrived at the hotel, it was 01.30 in the morning, and we were fully expecting to be allocated just any old room, and frankly, we would have been happy with that. When we arrived at reception, the man there happily informed us that we had a nice room with a view of the sea from its balcony.. the sunrise in the morning was breathtaking. To be honest, we didn't use the hotels facilities much, as we were only there for a couple of days, and wanted to explore the city, but it's one of those hotels where you just know that everything works exactly as it should. When I go to Barcelona again I will stay here again. No doubt about it.

We chose this hotel because its near the coast, but unfortunately didnt have the time to sit by the beach. The location is a bit quiet and low traffic. Being tourist for the first time to barcelona, we were happy that we managed to visit quite a lot of the popular landmarks. But something happened after we checked out. Less that 100m from the hotel while walking to Pablo station, we were stopped by policemen wanting to check our passport and demanding to check our bags for drugs. They showed us their ID. Obeying their orders and that we are innocent and we were released. Only when reaching Girona that we realised that we were street robbed by those "policemen". Almost all money gone. We did not make any report as we do not want to miss the flight and even lost more. We regarded that as our bad fate. We later on think that even if we deny their demand what might happen? They may have weapon with them and the worst might happen to us. I would like to call those who wish to be on foot and not taking public transport ie taxi, make sure to choose a busy place rather that a quiet one. There are culprits eyeing the tourists and simply apply a lot of tricks to rob them. As for all of us there will be no more trip to spain for a very long time perhaps thats the first and last one.

Todo Excelente, solo me sorprendió que un hotel de esta categoria tenga escaleras en la entrada lo que dificulta entrar con las maletas, el resto fue excelente, en especial los recepcionistas, muy competentes todos.

My husband and I had a fantastic stay at Hesperia del Mar! The hotel is beautiful, located close to the beach and has a great breakfast buffet! We were upgraded to a junior suite from a double room when we arrived because there were no double rooms left. We were thrilled with the room -- two bathrooms and a great lounge area The hotel is a 20 minute bus ride to downtown Barcelona so make sure that you are prepared to take public transit. The tourist bus and public transit both stop right outside the hotel.

L'hotel è davero molto bello, le camere spaziose e il personale molto gentile. Si trova nei pressi del port olimpic a un quarto d'ora dal cuore di Barcelona!

Siamo 12 anni che viaggiamo in giro per il mondo ed e' la prima volta che trovo un hotel cosi pulito(ogni giorno cambio totale degli asciugamani e teli doccia ecc..) e' l'ideale per la vacanza mare-visita citta' e degustazione cucina catalana) vi consiglio di mangiare al ristorante EL TUNEL DEL PORT(Port Olimpic) se arrivate alla stacio' del nord( da Girona) prerndete il bus n.41 e scendete a 40 metri dall'albergo.. non prendete la metro sono 700 metri a piedi!! Ah dimenticavo per la Rambla e visite varie optate per il bus!! Buon divertimento!

We thourghly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hesperia del Mar. Our room was larger than expected and the bathroom was great. The only down side to Hotel Hesperia del Mar is it's distance from the Metro. It is, however, only a 5 minute walk to the beach. The staff were very helpful and spoke very good English. If you are wanting a relaxing vacation near the beach, Hotel Hesperia del Mar would be a wonderful choice. I have no complaints at all with the hotel itself. However, if you are wanting to be in the thick of things near the city center or the harbor, the distance to the metro would be a factor to consider.

The breakfast is great. The hotel is really close to the beach. The bathroom is quite spacious. The curtains in the room should be changed or cleaned

Location far from the main district of Barcelona. The corporate office is close by. The beach by is an average sand beach. With so much to do in Barcelona, I did not even have time for the beach.

Overall good impression. Personnel very kind and helpful. Rooms to small for a four star hotel. It's worth to come back.

Public transportation in the area is null

EXCELENTE HOTEL, EL PERSONAL ALTAMENTE CALIFICADO, AGIL Y ATENTO, CON LA MEJOR PREDISPOSICION, EXCELENTE RELACIÓN CALIDAD PRECIO. SIN BIEN ESTA ALGO LEJOS DEL CENTRO, EN LA ESQUINA PARA UN BUS QUE EN 20 MINUTOS LLEGA A LA PLAZA CATALUÑA. LO RECOMIENDO!

Hotel was in an excellent location if you want the beach(just acrross the road) an big mall (10 min. walk)to the east and the flavour of Barcelona 10 min walk to the West(narrow street lots of stores this is not the LeRamblas,ReLambas is about another 10 to 15 blocks awayThe only negative it is difficult to find a place to park inorder to register I guess you just park on the road and leave your flshers on.otherthan that it was great EB

Hotel staff were lovely and friendly, the hotel a bit of a treck out but buses ran from outside fairly frequently. Taxis werent expensive either. Had a nice stay, would have been nice if the bar had been open at night.

Hotel is far from metro. Only bus (n. 41) is near. After 11.00 p.m. you must use taxi (9.00 euro from Ramblas) Around the hotel there is not shop, coffee and other facilities. You choose this hotel only if you want to stay on the beach.

Albergo situato a qualche minuto a piedi dal Porto Olimpico di Barcellona, dove la serata è molto bello passeggiare per la presenza di locali sulla spiaggia e di ristorantini. La spiaggia è di fronte l'albergo ed è possibile la balnezaione. L'unica pecca è che la fermata della metro vicina è in ristrutturazione e quindi per spostarvi dovete utilizzare l'autobus (ogni 20 minuti, eccetto la notte). Anche per la colazione il bar vicino è poco fornito. Se avete l'auto si trovano posti nelle vicinanze non a pagamento. In generale si merita un 8.

Air conditioning in our room did not cool the room. Front desk personnel were not able to correct. It was warm but bearable for one night. Besides this, it is a very nice hotel. Restaurants are on the beach very near the hotel. Superb food!

Hotel is next to the beach, which was excellent for us! Bus station is just round the corner too and it takes only 15min to town center.

I would really recommend this hotel to anyone. the place was fully worth the price paid. the hotel is about a 30 minutes walk from La Rumbla or 8 euros by taxi. also the 410 bus stops right outside the hotel which does to La Rumbla and this costs 1.20 euros.

Un hotel nuevo, con excelentes instalaciones, fuera de la zona comercial.

First time in Barcelona and it won't be our last. Beautiful rooms and a great location.

Contemporary hotel, clean- overlooking the sea. breakfast buffet/dinner with many choices. close to tourist bus line

The rooms were on the small side, but adequate and nicely furnished. A/C in my room barely worked. I could feel a feeble bit of cool air coming through. Opening the windows to let the cool ocean breeze through was a better solution. Although the Wi Fi was free it didn't work in my room. The cable from behind the TV was broken. The Wi Fi did work in the public areas. There was a small refrigerator in the room, not real cold either, but worked better than the A/C. The location was great if you like the beach. Only a block away . The restaurants on the Pier were only about a 20 minute walk. Lots of bars and eating spots to pick from. Was only there for one night so didn't make it into central Barcelona.For the price I paid- 80 euros plus 6 for parking-it was OK. I would probably choose another hotel for a longer stay.

Very good position for the beach. Further from the city centre than we expected but the bus and taxi services were good. Breakfast was overpriced. Nice clean new hotel overall.

We missed tea & coffee making facilities. While the hotel offered a reasonable service and was located in a useful area for our trip we will probably choose something less expensive next time.

Hotel is fine in good location near the sea. However breakfast should really be included in price. It is unclear on the website. Hotel is good but fairly expensive.

Would possibly say on the high side, price wise, but very comfortable accommodation and very clean. Breakfast not particularly brilliant, expensive for what was provided.

I was very happy the way everything turned out as this was my first time booking a hotel on the internet. The hotel staff were really friendly and looked after us extremely well - always making light of any request and happy to make sure we were ok. Would recommend this method of booking and hotel to all my Irish friends.

The breakfast service should be quoted with the price. But it was pleased to stay.

It is a nice hotel close to the seaside. If there wasn´t a building site in the close neighbourhood it would have been a perfect stay. Except that for my oppinion hotels in general should offer breakfast included in the overnight-price.
