The HCC Montblanc is a very good hotel with a good ratio price/quality. I advice you to choose, if possible, a room not on the Laietana Street because it isn't quite. Breakfast in hotel is expensive, so it's better to go out. Enjoy Barcelona!!!

The room was very noisy as it was facing the street and the window was not sound proof. I was even waked up by the car sound on the street. Also the breakfast was not included and wasn't highlighted during room reservation. It costed 17 Euros which seemed a bit expensive.

Hotel room was much quieter than expected, considering it's inner city location. Onsite parking was a godsend in a city where parking is not given priority for tourists. Coffee making facilities would be appreciated but obviously not considered normal in Spain anywhere. Would recommend on service and location.

Air conditioning did not function first night, and slept with window open. Neighbors were noisy. The staff is great. The rooms are cute and compact. People very helpful. The hotel is on a busy street, but so are most. Location is great.

We had a wonderful 4 day break at the Hotel HCC Montblanc are first time in Barcelona. The position of the Hotel is perfect for seeing all that Barcelona has to offer. Our room had a Balconey which looked out over the backs of other properties, not the best of views but made the room quite quiet. The room was cleaned each day to a good standard. The hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants and only ten minutes walk to the beach. We used the Metro to easily get around to see all we wanted. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Great location, just steps from the rambla and gothic quarter. The room was very nice and clean - great bathroom, but a little noisy at night and the AC was not too powerfule. Overall a pleasant stay.

Not a bad place but a little generic and nothing really special considering the price, great location though. Breakfast not included and very expensive (14 euros), I suggest eating in a coffee shop nearby instead.

We (my daughter and I) had a very pleasant stay at the HCC Montblanc. The personal was very friendly and helpfull. The hotel itself is nice, modern, spacious and has a lot of light inside. Breakfast is not cheap, 15€ per person, but after 2 days "on the streets" we went for it. A very rich buffet, with a great varity of fresh fruit and bread (not only sweet-rolls)You can also take cheese, eggs and a lot off different sorts of sausages and cereals. The breakfastroom looks very nice with its twinkeling stars at the ceilling. There are a lot of details which make you feel welcome and at ease. We´ll stay here again, that is for sure! The location is also the best in town!

The only bad point about this hotel relates to the staff on reception. They were incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful - in fact I would say bordering on rude. They never smiled or gave any sort of acknowledgement when you came near reception and everything seemed too much trouble - very disappointing considering how excellent the facilites were.

A much higher rating than 3star.The evening meal was great value for money, and the quality of both food and service oustanding.I would certainly stay there again. However the breakfast was expensive. We used one of the nearby bars; 6 euros coffee,o/j and toast.

Perfect central location. Five mins. walk to Las Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya-- Shopping, Food, hop on hop off bus, airport bus. Very safe surroundings. Welcoming and very competent staff, who also do not mind helping you out on touristic questions. Room a bit small for me and can hear the shower from the other room, but clean and for the price reasonable. Hotel lobby looks impressive, and makes you feel you are checking in a big 4 star hotel. Breakfast not included but a lot of coffeeshops outside. Luggage room also available, and staff friendly to extend my checkout time. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

The location of the hotel is hard to beat. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The only downside for us, was we got a room fronting the main road which is quite busy.

This was an excellent hotel. It's in a very central location, near a metro stop and near the shopping street 'Las Ramblas'. This hotel had so many amenities and was as luxurious as a 4-star hotel. The rooms were super clean, quiet and spacious. The pool, restaurant and bar were all great features, and the free glass of champagne was a nice touch too. The price was quite expensive, but after checking out several hotels, we concluded that hotels in Barcelona tend to be more expensive than in other European cities. Food and drink tend to be cheaper though. Highly recommended!

The hotel is in a great location. It is clean and we had a room at the back which was quiet. Two things I didn't like - the quality of the breakfasts was poor (toasters weren't working, coffee was cold...that sort of thing.) and the swimming pool was only open between 10am and 6pm - the precise hours you are least likely to be in the hotel!! In summary, a good hotel for the price but don;t have the breakfast...go to a cafe down the road

roomson main street are quite noisy which should not be the case taken into account the price ; hotel is very confortable, very well located in the center, near restaurants for dinner, next to Catalunia Plaza (1mn walk) which is great as it is the bus stop for bus from and to the airport, and next to all toursits attraction ; hotel to be recommended for tourists ;

The hotel was ideally located for accessing the main tourist sights of Barcelona. However, being located on a busy street meant it was too noisy to have the windows open. We visited in November when the air conditioning only gave out hot air and the rooms became very hot - made worse by having to keep the windows shut to keep the noise out. We chose not to eat here for breakfast as there were several small coffee bars located nearby where you could get food and drink much cheaper. Overall an enjoyable stay in a pleasant hotel which was in an ideal location for La Ramblas. We actually paid less than the price quoted when we booked!

Excellent Hotel in perfect location. Could not fault the service or the staff. Photo's on web site do not do the hotel justice, it is far better. No complaints whatsoever. I would recommend without hesitation. NB Watch the cafe next door it is a rip off. Go round the corner for an excellent breakfast for only 4.95 euros as opposed to this cafe's 10 euros for a coffee and croisant! Only bad point in a perfect weekend.

comfortable modern hotel, good location on edge of Barri Gothic. Helpful front desk, rooms better than average for cOntinent at this price. Rere rooms open onto area with ducting etc which can be noisy at night. Reasonable buffet breakfast @ €11.50 but eccentric service - set yout own table and poor coffee self service. Overall we were happy with the hotel and would stay there again

When I first arrived the receptionist did not seem aware of my booking - panic! But after searching on the computer the booking was found and the arrangements for the room were fine. The hotel is very central and close to many restaurants and bars. Also, it was a nice surprise that the hotel is actually more attractive than it looks in the photos. A small guide book and map is also given to guests - just in case you forget your own!

Hotel was excellent. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Bathroom was large, very clean and decorated in marble - wonderful. Breakfast was buffet style and expensive at around £10 each, but you do not have to purchase here if you prefer to go elsewhere. Could hear movement from adjoining rooms, but not enough to worry us. Staff were helpful and we would definately book this hotel again.

The Montblanc was a great base, very close to Placa Catalunya. The only thing I would say is that the prices quoted do not include tax, which when we stayed was 7%, so not too much of a shock, but I would have preferred to have known in advance. There was a lot of choice for breakfast, but a bit expensive at 13 Euros each, but it was open till 11am, so we went down quite late and ate quite a lot, so we could fill up and not need to eat until the evening, which meant we could do more sightseeing.

Mont blanc is ideally located for the tourist and the casual visitor to Barcelona. Public transportation, bus tours, trains, activities are all very convenient when staying at the Mont blanc which is in the middle of the Bary Gotic area of Barcelona. I highly recommned this hotel with it's fine facilities, spacious, comfortable rooms and location central to most all "must see" spots in Barcelona.

Front office staff including the Front Office manager were extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. We needed to stay an additional day in Barcelona. Since they didn't have room in their hotel we asked them to assist us with another hotel. They refused to help and sent us to the tourist information office where the lines were 1 hour long. Furthermore before leaving the hotel we asked for a taxi and when the taxi didn't arrive they refused to help us with getting another one. We were left to fend for ourselves. These were the most uncourteous and unfriendly people we ever encountered

We didn't spend that much time in the hotel as we were sightseeing. However the room was clean and regularly serviced. The staff were always helpful with any enquiries. The hotel was ideally located for viewing Barcelona: as some of the main sights were within a short walking distance as were the metro and tourist bus.

The location is central & very convenient. Personnel very forthcoming and helpful. Best to ask for a quiet room away from elevator. The "pool" is small, but there. Our stay was 2 weeks after renovation-everything new-but also substantial. Only the breakfast buffet was a bit high-priced for our taste. Otherwise we were completely satisfied.

This was a more than pleasant stay. Being American, i am used to large hotel rooms and lots of amenities, however i have lots of experience in european hotels where the standards are different. These rooms were surprisingly large, our room had a nice view of placa Fontenella, even tho the noise level from the street below was a little loud. One thing that needs to be on the website is how to indicate how to request if a double room will come with a large bed or two smaller beds. Our room came with two beds pushed together but upon request the staff happily exchanged our rooms. This might have been a problem during tourist season, but it wasnt for us. All around an excellent value. The price ended up being less than i had expected to pay...a first for me.

the only critical point I had to remark on was the confirmation of my reservation, which came not until the check in day. So I had to ring up the hotel to confirm my reservation. (But I had to add, that our reservation was really short-term...)So all in all, ther were no problems and we enjoyed our visit.
