This was my second time visiting the HCC Montblanc and my stay was as just as pleasant as the last. The location alone is superb! It is in a brilliant area and has easy access to the airport, all the main transport routes and tourist sites to allow you to really explore all that Barcelona has to offer. The hotel itself is clean and spacious and the staff are incredibly helpful. The pool is also a nice added feature for a city centre hotel! The only downside was that there was an overpowering smell of drains in the bathroom however this was only a minor issue and the rest of the room was perfect and would not stop me from staying here again or reccommending the hotel highly to friends.

Staff was very helpful, personal, gave advices, good hints, gave real time and effort. Cleaningladies, bar staff, receptionists, everybody was full of energy and interest in our wellbeeing. we needed extra pillow, extra plug, cables for internet, extra glasses, ice cubes, everything was there immediately. They found out scooter rents, adviced on restaurants, really helpful. Intercooler worked fine. Location is suprime, close to the Rambla but still in a quiet area, no problems with taxis, buses or parking space, swimming pools is good, service there excellent. I can recommend this hotel to everybody and we will surely stay there again.

Location was excellent, just a short walk to La Rambla, Barri Gotic and Catalunya Square. There is a wonderful little tapas bar (Taller de Tapas) within a five minute walk. A short walk to the Barcelona city tour bus stop. Did not eat at the hotel. The hotel has free Wi-Fi in the lobby and bar area. There is no business center and they do not have a tour desk. The only major complaint was the bed. The mattress and pillows were hard (not "firm" or "extra firm", but HARD). Did not get a good night's rest.

HCC Montblanc is in a great location in the heart of old Barcelona and close to Plaza Catalunya where the Airport bus terminates. We stayed for 3 nights in a comfortable double room and enjoyed drinks in the bar one evening. There are several very good restaurants nearby - walk down Laietana and veer left into Magdalenes. The price was higher than I had hoped to pay but good for this part of Barcelona. The free internet access with Ethernet cable from the room worked very well.

Good stuff - Location is great! - Near the Ramblas and Catalunya square. Value for money is also OK. Two things though: a) Rooms are minimally equipped - 1 towel, 1 soap, beddings are a bit old, etc. b) Internet in the room is only with a cable, but reception does not have cables... So - if you are looking for high-end hotel - this is not for you. If location with reasonable price is most important - go for it.

Location is superb but beside that its quite pricy . 4 days stay = 514 euros for a mid-range noisy hotel with simple room without any kind of view . The beds are quite hard , a old crt tv is placed on a table .. Pluss side its quite clean ,and the bathrooms is nice. Staff speak good english and quite helpfull. Would probably not stay here again , but for families with small children its a good choice .

Perfect in every way. Location can't be beat-2 short blocks from Plaza Catalunya in safe, quiet area. Easy access to metro and trains as well as the Barcelona Tourism Office at the Plaza, which was a real plus. Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Pass on the (cold) buffet breakfast-there are several places to get breakfast down the street.

We had a wonderful 4 day break at the Hotel HCC Montblanc are first time in Barcelona. The position of the Hotel is perfect for seeing all that Barcelona has to offer. Our room had a Balconey which looked out over the backs of other properties, not the best of views but made the room quite quiet. The room was cleaned each day to a good standard. The hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants and only ten minutes walk to the beach. We used the Metro to easily get around to see all we wanted. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We (my daughter and I) had a very pleasant stay at the HCC Montblanc. The personal was very friendly and helpfull. The hotel itself is nice, modern, spacious and has a lot of light inside. Breakfast is not cheap, 15€ per person, but after 2 days "on the streets" we went for it. A very rich buffet, with a great varity of fresh fruit and bread (not only sweet-rolls)You can also take cheese, eggs and a lot off different sorts of sausages and cereals. The breakfastroom looks very nice with its twinkeling stars at the ceilling. There are a lot of details which make you feel welcome and at ease. We´ll stay here again, that is for sure! The location is also the best in town!

The only bad point about this hotel relates to the staff on reception. They were incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful - in fact I would say bordering on rude. Perfect central location. Five mins. walk to Las Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya-- Shopping, Food, hop on hop off bus, airport bus. Very safe surroundings. Welcoming and very competent staff, who also do not mind helping you out on touristic questions. Room a bit small for me and can hear the shower from the other room, but clean and for the price reasonable. Hotel lobby looks impressive, and makes you feel you are checking in a big 4 star hotel. Breakfast not included but a lot of coffeeshops outside. Luggage room also available, and staff friendly to extend my checkout time. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

The hotel is in a great location. It is clean and we had a room at the back which was quiet. Two things I didn't like - the quality of the breakfasts was poor (toasters weren't working, coffee was cold...that sort of thing.) and the swimming pool was only open between 10am and 6pm - the precise hours you are least likely to be in the hotel!! This was an excellent hotel. It's in a very central location, near a metro stop and near the shopping street 'Las Ramblas'. This hotel had so many amenities and was as luxurious as a 4-star hotel. The rooms were super clean, quiet and spacious. The pool, restaurant and bar were all great features, and the free glass of champagne was a nice touch too. The price was quite expensive, but after checking out several hotels, we concluded that hotels in Barcelona tend to be more expensive than in other European cities. Food and drink tend to be cheaper though. Highly recommended!

Excellent Hotel in perfect location. Could not fault the service or the staff. Photo's on web site do not do the hotel justice, it is far better. No complaints whatsoever. I would recommend without hesitation. NB Watch the cafe next door it is a rip off. Go round the corner for an excellent breakfast for only 4.95 euros as opposed to this cafe's 10 euros for a coffee and croisant! Only bad point in a perfect weekend.

The hotel was ideally located for accessing the main tourist sights of Barcelona. However, being located on a busy street meant it was too noisy to have the windows open. We visited in November when the air conditioning only gave out hot air and the rooms became very hot - made worse by having to keep the windows shut to keep the noise out. We chose not to eat here for breakfast as there were several small coffee bars located nearby where you could get food and drink much cheaper. Overall an enjoyable stay in a pleasant hotel which was in an ideal location for La Ramblas. We actually paid less than the price quoted when we booked!

The Montblanc was a great base, very close to Placa Catalunya. The only thing I would say is that the prices quoted do not include tax, which when we stayed was 7%, so not too much of a shock, but I would have preferred to have known in advance. There was a lot of choice for breakfast, but a bit expensive at 13 Euros each, but it was open till 11am, so we went down quite late and ate quite a lot, so we could fill up and not need to eat until the evening, which meant we could do more sightseeing.

Front office staff including the Front Office manager were extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. We needed to stay an additional day in Barcelona. Since they didn't have room in their hotel we asked them to assist us with another hotel. They refused to help and sent us to the tourist information office where the lines were 1 hour long. Furthermore before leaving the hotel we asked for a taxi and when the taxi didn't arrive they refused to help us with getting another one. We were left to fend for ourselves. This was a more than pleasant stay. Being American, i am used to large hotel rooms and lots of amenities, however i have lots of experience in european hotels where the standards are different. These rooms were surprisingly large, our room had a nice view of placa Fontenella, even tho the noise level from the street below was a little loud. One thing that needs to be on the website is how to indicate how to request if a double room will come with a large bed or two smaller beds. Our room came with two beds pushed together but upon request the staff happily exchanged our rooms. This might have been a problem during tourist season, but it wasnt for us. All around an excellent value. The price ended up being less than i had expected to pay...a first for me.
