There is a supermarket in the basement and a bank on the ground floor of the same building, which is excellent! Very close to Barcelona Sants train station -> easy ride (18min) to the airport. 15 min walk, and you are in the shoping centre Lilla. Subway is 5 minutes away. Buy T10 ticket (7.85EUR) from the airport, thios ticket is valid for 10 rides on all public means of transport, instead of buying one time 2.8EUR ticket. Pretty decent hotel, new and clean. Very, very friendly staff. The only minus was that the shower was not working very well, one can shower, but the water is going away slowly and the water is coming from the shower head and the faucet simultaneously. I would recommend the hotel and would stay again there.

The staff were very friendly. The plumbing was poor: the controls for the shower and the bath didn't work: the water came out of both tap and shower, wasting water. The cost of the hotel breakfast was high, but there are some nice cafes doing bocadillos and coffee in side streets nearby (near the park). Travelling with my wife and daughter - with an extra bed in the room - meant it was a bit of a tight squeeze in the bedroom.

The hotel is really nice and very close to public transport metro and train station "Estacio de Nord", the workers are very kind and open to help customers in any needs and requests. The relation price and quality is very good, the only negative thing is that the price doesn't include breakfast that costs 15 €.

Very beautiful, modern and comfortable hotel!the employers are all very nice, competent and kind,if you need any type of information they will give it to you without any problem.the room are quite small, but with all you will need and all is every day clean.the hotel is near the station of metro and train so you can easy reach what part of the city (or the aeroport) with a small budget without use of the taxi. if you want you can reach the Rambla walking, it takes half an hour but the surrounding are not dangerous and full of little low cost bar, restaurants and shops. we are very satisfied with this hotel!

The location is great and close to the main train station. If you walk out the front of train station cross the taxi pick up area and walk all the way to the end of a huge concrete area w/a covered area on left you will see 4 palm trees in front of you. Look down the right 2 blocks and you will see the hotel. There is a grocery store right next door. Use it if you drink soft drinks/water otherwise you will pay 2 to 3 euros each on the street. The hotel has 2 computers with free internet. AC worked first night but not second. We walked to the fountain/light show @ the contemporary art museum 2 nights and it was great! Also, if you don't see prices quoted in resteraunts & for cabs ask twice before eating or getting in the cab. Barcelona was beautiful but I felt screwed several times in these areas and I am a pretty savy traveler.

Good hotel. The surrounding of the hotel is not great, but it compensates with its vicinity to public transports. The hotel is near the main train station from where you can get the tube to the city centre (La Ramblas and so on). The trip is about 10 minutes. Walking, you will need 30 or 40 minutes. Our room was clean and spotless. Good services in general. Good price/quality ratio.

Nice hotel, close to Stans train station (10 min) as well as to Touristic bus and metro station (5 min). Only comment was the noise coming from the street, better ask for a room on the other side. Breakfast expensive (14 Euros). Otherwise, we would go again. Staff is competent.

We stayed two nights sharing a twin bedded room.We were offered 1/2 price breakfast on arrival - which was very good value.Unfortunately our first night was spoiled as neither the aircon nor our TV worked.Next day I complained and we were moved to another room which was AOK and I blagged a free breakfast .Hotel location meant metro journeys to get to any sights but metro and rail stations are near . the metro is cheap if you buy an H10 ticket.

We were surprised how nice this hotel was. It was much nicer than most hotels in Europe and corresponded with a decent hotel in North America. It is very close to the subway and only a 5 minute subway from Plaza Catalunya. I think I prefered the location to being right in the main tourist area. I would stay here again and can easily recommend it.

Despite quite busy surroundings, hotel gave us calm relief at any part of a day, but try to book a room with window heading backyard - Av. de Roma seems to be less busy at night, but can be noisy anyway. Room cleanliness with no objections, staff very friendly. If you don't mind living little outside the centre it should be an almost perfect match. Metro station Sants Estacio is approx. 5 min. walk from the hotel, where Line 3 leads you directly to La Rambla and Catalunya Square within 10 minutes. Very good overall impression.

After taking an hour (on a very hot day)to resolve a dispute as to whether breakfast was included in the terms quoted, we checked in. The checkin staff seem inexperienced and seemed to have no supervisor available to help. When she came on duty, Elisabet was very helpful in selecting a room. Room and breakfast were excellent. Supermarket adjacent to Hotel was useful. Hotel is in case-rolling distance (five minutes) to main Sant Rail and Bus Station and Metro. We would recommend Itaca to friends.

The Hotel is located in a relatively quiet surrounding with a near-by metro-station (100 m, 10 min. ride to the ramblas). The rooms are well equipped and clean. Hotel staff was very friendly (e.g. helped to get a rental car from a company in the neighborhood). The prices for breakfast are with 14 Euro in the usual range. If you do not want to spend this, you will find a bakery/coffee shop next to the hotel as well as a supermarket.

Room was very nice but annoyingly it contained two single beds rather than a double bed. There was a mix up over whether breakfast was included or not, and we ended up being charged extra for breakfast, but breakfast was very nice. Location was close to metro, but 20 mins walk from Eixample shopping/tourist streets. Overall, very good value for a nice hotel - we would go back there if we return to Barcelona.

We really appreciated the excellent service and the friendliness. I don't mind that the breakfast is not included because there are two supermarkets and about 3 cafes in the very neighbourhood and you can have a different menu every morning. The breakfast buffet is nice though and they have some nice specialties in it too. The minibar did not seem very expensive compared to other hotels. The room was VERY small (actually there are two very small double bed rooms on every floor and we got them). However, we specifically asked for other features for the room and we had them. Train, buses and metro lines are 5 minutes away, shopping areas from Av Diagonal are about 30 minutes away by foot. The backview is quiet and pleasant and includes a child playground that is behind the hotel. The cafe has a very intimate section, it was definitely an overall pleasant stay.

Generally and excellent hotel. If the exchange rate had been better as it was earlier this year it would have been an even better value. Staying in a 4 star hotel for under £50.00 is excellent anyway. The restuarant was very good and had a very nice menu. We were warned about the poor value breakfasts by other reviewers, so came up with the idea of tea/coffee with cakes as room service. This only came to 10 Euros including the 3 for service charge! Highly recommended, the station is very near by which makes up for being slightly away from Central Barcelona.

First of all, the hotel is in an excellent location (very near metro Station Tarragona on line 3)so you can move very easily => very very good to spare time ! It is for sure a 4 star hotel (very nice building, rooms & service (even a printed sheet put in the room every day for meteo forecasting !!), welcome, newspapers)...but TV channels are crap (MTV in German with non stop adds for SMS & rings for mobile phones...). Now talking about money, be aware you get with VENERE a very good price but you have to add 14 Euros per day and per person for breakfast (I hope it is good for this price but we prefered to eat in a bakery in the surroundings for 5 Euros for 2 -> 23 Euros saved per day : yes !!) and 13 Euros per day for the parking (ggrrmmbll... fair but I would have liked to see it included). Conclusion : very good but I would have liked to get a little more services (a cup of coffee included for instance)

We were delighted with the hotel. I spent a lot of time searching for a good deal and eventually paid EUR 440 for a 4 night stay with my wife and baby daughter. As we were travelling with a baby, it was essential that we had a cot in the room and I was able to communicate this directly with the hotel. The room was spacious, modern and very clean. The only minor niggle was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Maybe this is the norm for Spain? Having said that, the service in the hotel was top class. From the reception staff, to the restaurant staff and even the cleaners, all were very efficient and courteous. They were attentive to our every need and very helpful with any 'baby needs'. All in all we had a very good stay and would definitely look to book with H10 again.

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in Barcelona. Although it probably wouldn't be suitable for those taking children everything else was fantastic.

My girfriend and I both think that the bathroom was very small and possibly dangerous, due to the fact that the edge of the vanity has a sharp corner that could result in injury if someone fell in the shower which also didn't work properly. The shower head mount was worn and as soon as pressure was put thru, the head would move all over the place, producing a danger to those that used it, considering the vanity top.

I liked the Hotel, it's location is close to the center, and nearby station Bus/Metro. They have good Internet in the entrance... I went for Honeymoon in Barcelona, got great welcome, and bottle of wine. I did not like at all the available TV stations. Simply unwatchable for English speaking, even MTV in German?!

The room service is really good. The room are comfortable with an excellent bathroom. Breakfast is plenty of food for all the tastes. The best thing is that it's quite close to the railway station of SANTS and to two underground lines. I strongly recommend it.

The hotel was at a mush higher standard than expected, and the distance to the city-center was shorter than it appeared on maps.

Overall the hotel compares very favourably with hotels of a similar price in the country areas of Spain eg Paradores. The one dinner which we ate at the hotel and breakfast which we ate every day were excellent. Little things let it down slightly eg the shower head would not stay in its holder easily and the batteries had been removed from the scales in the bathroom. The biggest problem for the hotel is its location ie near the main railway station with all of the problems which that brings. On our first day, within 100 metres of the front door, we were stopped by the Barcelona drugs police and searched, our money sniffed. It is quite a long walk to the Port Vell area and we ran up big taxi bills. We had selected the hotel specifically because it had a secure car park but on our first night our car was vandalised in the car park and the BMW badges prised from the bonnet and boot with considerable damage done to do so.

The hotel was clean, modern and well maintained. The breakfast was especially good. It is located close to a metro station and in walking distance of the Palace and Magic Fountain. I only have one critisism, we were not provided with bath robes as specified. If I'd have known this I would have taken my own! That said we would stay here again.

Very close to the Metro line and an easyish walk into central Barcelona but not in an area of natural beauty! Personally I found the bathroom a little cramped. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Helped us with reservations and recommendations for things to see and restaurants etc. If breakfast is included take advantage. It's great!

No Internet is available in the Hotel at all! In all Internet-marketing adds was listed that Internet was available in the rooms! We brought especially our notebooks with us for connecting to the Internet.

We arrived early in the day and were greeted by a very friendly and efficient staff. After a glass of cava and a handfull of pistachios the world seemed a better place. This is a very good hotel which serves an excellent breakfast buffet. Highly recommended.
