Nice little hotel that was situated right in the centre of the city. The entrance was smaller than I thought and initially the place was a little difficult to find, however we made it in the end. The rooms were satisfactorily clean and tidy and the receptionist was helpful and found my booking right away. We decided not to eat breakfast in the hotel and instead opted to go to some of the many cafés nearby. One gripe was that my safe required a key to operate (which I don't believe Venere stated when I made the booking). Otherwise though, the hotel was just what I needed for my 2 night stay in Barça. One of the great things about this hotel too, is that the "Urquinaona" metro stop is only about 100 meters away!

Having requested a quiet room we got a room overlooking the inside of the hotel. After a long fight we succeeded in getting a really nice room with a view. If not for that incident, we would rate the hotel much higher. Breakfast service and quality were were really high.

Only good thing for this hotel is location. Rooms are very small, and many of them have window facing to other rooms. Actually, you have one small hole in the middle of building with surrounding rooms, just to say that you have light, but it is like being in the box. Highly overpriced for very basic hotel, but have to say, with perfect location.

HOTEL IN POSIZIONE CENTRALISSIMA, MA CON CAMERE ECCESSIVAMENTE PICCOLE E FATISCENTI. BAGNO IN CONDIZIONI IGIENICHE PIETOSE. NON CI RITORNEREI. LA ZONA PERO è OTTIMA.

Very nice hotel, the location is the best you can possible choose for a few days in Barcelona. Just a 100 metres from Place Cataluna, you have lots of coffee shops near the hotel and restaurants, not to mention the mall Corte Ingles. The hotel is very clean, and the employees offered us their help with everthying we needed.

Hotel is located in the centre of city and suitable for sightseeing on foot very well. We were satisfied for this hotel in general but strange noise (what we heard in hotel room) disturbed us.

Room was clean and large enough, but it did overlook a busy road so was quite noisy. Also, there's nowhere to park nearby. However, the location is good - very close to the main attractions and the underground system.

Our room was directly situated next to the room which is used by the cleaning personnel and the elevator. It was really very loud. At 2.30 in the morning noise started and did not stop until we get up.

A very basic hotel in an excellent location. There were no frills, to speak of, and it is probably not for the light sleeper. But compared to another place we stayed, we felt much safer and in a better, less secluded space. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great location. Not much information about anything. Tiny, small rooms. The first offerd without a propper window, the next with slidingdoor and a veranda, but very small. Nice, but small bathroom. The bed was terrible, hard as stone. Fortunately it was 4 ekstra pillows which could be used as a madras.I was not aware of the difference between the "turistrooms", and the rooms showed at the pictures. Cleaningstaff started early in the morning and made a lot of noise. Other guests made much noise in the middle of the night when they arrived home. The room was not at all soundproof.

The room was very clean and was refreshed daily. However, it was very, very small. With one double bed, 2 small chairs, there was hardly any room left to move around. Had we not spent so much time away from the hotel, we would have probably gotten very clautraphobic (sp?). The staff in the breakfast area was very pleasant, however, since the price for breakfast was high, we only got coffee in the mornings.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Apsis Gran Ducat. It is very central to Barcelona, with aerobus and metro only a short distance away. The room we had was clean and well laid out. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. Our only problem was on paying the bill, when we were asked to pay additionally for breakfast. After showing the Venere email confirming our booking, this was sorted out quite quickly, and we paid the amount quoted on the Venere document.

Excellent service by front desk staff who spoke good English. Rooms were exactly as advertised, clean, comfortable, and new looking. Front desk made excellent recommendations for good restaurants in the area. Inexpensive buses to airport depart only a block or so away from the hotel - easy walking distance even with luggage.

Nice, clean hotel in a great location. Hotel is just round the corner from the bus which goes to and from the airport, and to the Tourist Bus stop (which is great value). It's also 5 mins walk from the Ramblas. The only downside was that the room was very small and the window overlooked a tiny enclosed 'courtyard' rather than outside. However, if you're on a limited budget and aren't too fussy, this hotel is ideal. I would stay again if I went back to Barcelona.

Das Hotel ist mit 2. Ausnahmen empfehlenswert: 1. ---------------------- The hotel is with 2. Exceptions recommendable: 1. The Quietness (road and air conditioning system) - Ohropax is a "have to must" 2. the air condition could not adjustable, either full Power or Out and windows open. The air condition seems to be a problem for completely Barcelona, all areas was heated on 30 °C. But: The beds are very well, the medress is o. K. and there are 3! pillows. In Barcelona there are unfortunately many pickpockets, therefore you have to bear the money and documents of identification at the body or to lie it in the safe of the Hotel room.

While I found the room to be small and overpriced, with the added cost of V.A.T. a rather unpleasent surprise when checking out (I find it irritating that this is not included in the overall price when booking- its not that much more money, and however legal, it just feels underhanded to do things this way), I had a rather inconsequential stay. Aside from the daily irritation of cleaning staff hounding us so they could clean the room, plus the rather extensive building work that woke us every morning (a definate negative when you have been hitting the sangria the night before!) it was pleasent enough. Its rather central with one of the main metro lines on the square by the hotel, and its easily walking distance to La Rambla. So convenience is a plus. I wouldn't return there, nor even recommend it to others, but in the event you're stuck for a place to stay (as we were) one could do worse.

I had a very good time at Apsis Gran Ducat. Very nice welcoming, lovely rooms and located in the center of Barcelona. It takes about 30 minutes to get from the airport to Plaza Catalunya by airbus directly, which is just great. I would go there again, any time.
