I went to this hotel thinking it was quite comfortable. I found a dirty and uncormfortable room, strong smell and the bathroom was really dirty. There was no sight on the way and no air. I just had to stay one night because I was obliged to pay the rest and then I changed as soon as possible. There is no relation between price and quality.

Strong noise from the cars in the streets. No parking at the hotel but possibility to find a free park in the streets closed to the hotel for the night. 12/15 mn walk to Sagrada Familia or first metro station. Big double room for family of 4 or 5 persons. Good welcoming. Good bed. Continental breakfast with fresh products and choice.

The hotel is perfect to visite the city and clean. Staff is competent and kind. The hotel surrondings aren't good if you want to walk in the evening, but there are many small shops to buy water, food and other. Only issue is the expensive breakfast (10,8 euro per person)that offers a very good buffet, but you can also have the breakfast in the bakery at 20 meters of the hotel: croissant and coffee at only 1,5 euro and it's very good. I suggest this hotel if you want to visite this beautiful city.

We were a little bit disappointed that our room was located near the lift it was very hard to sleep. I must say the room was clean and we had no problem with the hotel location. The only reason we rated this hotel low was due to our room location.

After a wonderful stay at the Hotel Alcazar in Seville, Hotel Glories was a nightmare! The first room we would given was in the basement next to the air shaft. We immediately demanded another room which was above ground but also next to the air shaft. The third room was on the second floor, which we eventually accepted as there were no other rooms available, was small and looked like it had not been painted in years. You could not change the channels on the television and the only way to turn it off was to remove the card from the electric slot. The bathroon was disgusting and dirty. The room needed to be scrubbed. We would have moved but there were no rooms available. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone nor would I stay at this hotel again.

I chose Hotel Glories because it was in a quieter area of Barcelona and reasonably close to the Glories and Monumental metro stops. The room was very small, typical of a hotel in the center of Barcelona, but for L'Eixample, it's smaller than the average hotel in my experience. The room was quite clean and had free WiFi in the room. I don't know think the hotel has any backup generator. The power went out in the entire hotel and I was stuck in the elevator for a short while. They manually opened the elevator doors pretty quickly, but there was still no power for about 4 hours. There are a number of cafes nearby, but that part of L'Eixample doesn't have a lot of restaurants. If you will spend all day outside, then the hotel is fine, but otherwise, I think there are better places in Barcelona. And even if you're going to spend all day outside, for the same price, I think there are better hotels in Barcelona.

I stayed with my family (six people) in two triple rooms. They were very clean and quit at night. Basic rooms, very spacious, confortable rooms and very nice and diligent staff. They were very helpful with directions to get to various sites and help us to get urgent taxis to get to the airport on short periods of time. The hotel is about three blocks from Monumental Metro Station, a nice neighborhood, some restaurants (although few) and a nice cafe with excelent breakfast, although we do not know anything about the breakfast provided by the hotel. In general we had a great time in barcelona at this hotel, I would recommended. Affordable price and good quality.

Didn't have the breakfast. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the Glories Underground station which is in a desolate area, but safe. This hotel is a 12 minute walk from the 'Nord' Bus Station (an easy walk to this hotel) - the Station where the Girona Airport bus arrives/departs.

Excellent place to stay for sightseeing. The only thing is that the numbering of the street is confusing. Once you see 170, stay on that side of the road and then you'll see the hotel as you go along , even though the numbers on the street go down instead of up.

We were lucky to have a corner room facing an empty lot, which made it more quiet than my friends' room. They stayed for four days and were in a room facing the front street. The room was too noisy to open the window, and too hot to leave the window closed :( Remember this when you check-in! The 20-minute walk from this hotel, via some diagonal streets, to Gothic quarter was very nice. Most parts were for pedestrain only, passing a Train Station, handsome Arc de Triomf, beautiful Palau de la Musica Catalena, and to the Catedral de Barcelona!

Hotel is among with the best choices for stay in Barcelona. He is placed in very convinient place - you can easyly reach both - beaches and downtown. Not so quiet but it is not so big problem. One thing the hotel have to change definitely - their location map on venere.com. The closest metro station is Glories - not Arc de Triumph.

This was my first time to Barcelona, and it was great! The hotel is located in a very nice quiet area. The hotel service was wonderful. And, there is this great tapas bar across the street. If I go back to Barcelona, I'll absolutely stay at Hotel Glories again. The only thing I didn't like, and this has nothing to do with the Hotel, nor the employees there. This is just a word of advice for those of you going to the airport from the hotel via a taxi. The person at the front lobby was honest enough and told me that the taxi ride from there to the airport is 25 euros, and when the taxi driver dropped us off, he told us it was 35 euros. Although, the rate on his dashboard read 26.00 euros, but he covered it up quickly. And, unfortunately, I was too in a rush wanting to catch my plane on time, and with small kids needing my assistance, that I didn't bother saying anything.

It is a very good hotel, the reception lady is very helpful, hotel very clean, room with bath tub. Very close to the central of Barcelona, excellent location. It is in walkable distance to the monumental train station and the bull fighting stadium (excellent location and very quiet hotel). Breakfast is yummy. I can easily miss lunch in Barcelona as I filled myself up during breakfast. Although, the hotel is 3 stars, it is better than a 4 stars hotel I stayed in Rome. At the end I actaully paid 20 Euros less as they said the rate were lower when compare to the time I made reservation. I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone going to Barcelona

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Glories. It's not located exactly in the center of the city, but very close to some metro stops (Line 1 - Glories, and Line 2 - Monumental). The Glories stop can be akward, when exiting to go back to hotel, take the exit for Avenguida de la Meridiana (you should see tram tracks). The Monumental stop is less stressful and a more direct walk back to the hotel. Many buses(bus #7) pass by on the Gran Via De Les Corts Catalanes. The bus station Estacio del Nord is also not very far away, near Carrer de la Marina. The hotel is located on Carrer de Padilla between the Gran Via and Diputacion. The hotel itself was very nice. The breakfast was great, a lot to choose from. My room was on the smaller side, but OK for a single traveller. I thought the maid could have cleaned a somewhat better. It can get a little noisey at night and in the morning with the closing of the hotel room doors. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very close to the Torre Agbar, Plaza de Toros and Sagrada Familia. There is also a shopping center not too far, near the tower and metro stop Glories. Next to the hotel there is a small supermarket & bakery, and across the street there is an Internet point. The Internet access in the hotel is quite costly. I recommend that you take the Bus Turisitc tour guide (Barcelona's official tour). There are 3 lines and you can hop off and on whenever you like, and change routes. There are 1 day and 2 day tickets available. I also got the 5 day Barcelona Card that gives you access to all public means of transportation (metro, buses, trams, etc...) When you buy the Bus Turistic tickets, you receive a coupon book that will be very helpful in getting discounts to museum entrances and discounts on food. Well worth it. I would definitely stay here again for the price and the quality of service.

Hotel Glories is EXTREMELY difficult to find if you are driving in Barcelona - the one way system is a nightmare. We had requested directions from the hotel via e-mail but these were poor and resulted in us driving around for an hour trying to locate the hotel! The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We were not aware that we would have to pay for car-parking at the hotel - this should be mentioned in the hotel details as it would prove expensive to leave your car for any length of time - approx 15 euros for overnight. Breakfast was great - nice variety of continental and English food. We paid approx £100 for a quad room which seems expensive for a hotel 15-20 minutes out of the centre (taxi between 5-10 euros into centre). Overall the hotel was fine but I would look for something more central if we went to Barcelona again.

As a family of four, we stayed in a quad room which had been recently renovated. Two separate rooms, basic and modern design. Very clean and staff were very friendly. The location is a bit out of the centre of Barcelona, although the metro station is only 10minutes walk away. The area around the hotel is a bit grim, although there are restaurants and cafes close by. As an overnight stay, we were delighted with the hotel and the quad room was excellent family value. We wouldn't hesitate in staying there again.

It was our first time to Barcelona and the distance of the hotel from the main sites was more than we expected. We only stayed for the day so much could not be covered. The Hotel is very clean and the price was value for money as we expected a quad and got two rooms together. Breakfast was good and plenty also included in the price. The hotel had a bus stop round the corner and possibly would be better suited for people staying for a longer period of time giving time to adjust to the area and not staying in the very center but if like us that we had a limited amount of time and wanted to cover the most possible time was wasted on the distance made to and from. We also travelled with two younger children which tired easily. All in all the hotel in itself was good and would not mind going back to it on another occasion as stop over or if sightseeing with a number of days to spare.

I booked all my hotel rooms for my 2 week honeymoon in Spain on venere.com and was very pleased to find that what I expected was what I got with every hotel. Hotel Glories was clean, affordable, in a good neighborhood (metro only less that a 5 minute walk away), and the breakfast that was included in our price was excellent. Not a whole lot of charm, but great amenities including internet, hair dryer, and room safe. I would definitely consider staying here again. We had a room in the back without a view but plenty of silence which was more important to us.

The check in clerk was extremely helpful in giving directions for our day out and helping us put our bags in a room to wait while our room was ready. It was ready as promised and was exactly as described and requested. What surprised me the most is we were leaving before breakfast was to be served and they OFFERED to pack us a picnic breakfast for our flight which was unheard of in all the travels we have done. It was a yogurt, apple, bottle of water and ham sandwich was delicious and really appreciated when you have to be up and out as early as we did with two children.

Travelling with a 16 year old who chose the destination (l'auberge espagnole oblige). We enjoyed the smile and kindness of the staff. I am travelling too much for biz to enjoy a breakfast buffet, a room, etc. but she did very much. Beds were excellent.

The hotel is away from the center city but very close to Sagrada Familia and the big Glories shopping center. The metro station is about 3 blocks away, so it was quite easy to get around the city. Breakfast was excellent and included with the room. Although they charge for internet access, just go across the hotel where there is an internet cafe (which charge for lesser amount). The room is clean but a little too dark. Our overall stay is quite pleasant.

The room we stayed in was in the basement next to the kitchen area, which made it a noisy place in the morning. The noise from other rooms could be heard very clearly. There was some confusion about quoted prices and breakfast. We told the hotel we would not be having breakfast one morning but they still showed the breakfast cost on the bill and would not take it off. The hotel is not in an easy part of the city to access by public transport. The surrounding area was seedy in term of cleanliness and people. At 9pm there were no shops opened in the area to buy food.

For the price we paid (ca. EUR 80,-- / double, incl. breakfast) we really could not complain. The rooms are noisy, though. If you are a light sleeper, you might have problems...

The hotel, staff and services received were first class. It is a fine hotel offering excellent value. I can wholeheartedly reccommend this hotel. Even though it is a little way from the centre the metro (Monumental) is less than 5 minutes walk and a taxi from The Ramblas cost E6. Besides all that, its worth it for the breakfast. OH YES.
