Hotel located well for our proposes. Walking distance to most of the facilities we wanted to see. The bonus for us was the Palace Guell immediately across the road from the hotel. The Rambla is only a 30 sec walk away also

The hotel's location is very central and handy for the metro. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean and of a decent standard. The only downside to our room was that the air conditioning in the room was very loud- it seemed to have a small helicopter stuck inside it. In the summer this would be very annoying - it would be impossible to sleep with it on and very hot otherwise. The location is very handy for dining- the placa reial is just opposite, offering a wide array of tapas type places. Loved Canarias, which was excellent value for money. Avoid Brasil which is not.

The triple room we've booked was overviweing Palau Guell (closed for renovations at the time of our visit ) so this way we had a chance to see some of the roof decorations. The room was simply decorated , nu fuss , but clean. The hotel is right around the corner from Las Ramblas so expect noise all night , especially if there's a major soccer game happening.Beware at night as the area gets gritty. But overall ,the location is great - very close to 2 metro (subway) stops , lots of teracces and restaurants nearby . We didn't buy breakfast at the hotel as for the amount charged for one person you could eat 3 times at some cafe in the little squares nearby.

We stayed in Barcelona for 3 days 2 nights for my sister's 30th wedding anniversary. Especially would like to praise the service we got from the lady in the bar in the afternoon/evenings and the gentleman who sorted out our luggage on arrival and departure.

Website indicated that each room had an iron so I didn't bring my own. Upon arrival I was informed that they would arrange for my ironing to be done for a fee. Also, guest registering in before was told their breakfast was included, ours was not. I would have liked to know the criteria for breakfast when making reservation. Our room was in the back, not good for views, but quiet at night. Location great. This is my first time to Barcelona, I would certainly use Gaudi Hotel again and recommend it to my friends.

Very funky hotel just a stone's throw from Las Ramblas. Perfect location. The room was for three with twin beds in one room and a single adjoining. Breakfast not too good but so what! Would definitely recommend this hotel and would use it again if I return to Barcelona.

First time in hotel alone since the loss of my husband in January 2007 and was a little apprehensive although my son lived in Barcelona and met me during the day to sight see. I was made to feel very welcome by all the staff in the hotel and especially the porter who carried luggage to room for me and was never less than helpful. I felt very at home there and will certainly revisit next time. I did feel however that the breakfasts could have done with a bit more imagination so after first two visits I did eat out. Also it would have been even better if there had been tea and coffee making facilities in room. Small things but would make guests feel they are getting value for money. Overall I was,as I have said very comfortable there. Lovely friendly and 'smiley'staff. There was, noisy building work going on directly outside my window, but fortunately, was only during the daytime when I was not in room.

The hotel is very convenient to Las Ramblas, and about 2 blocks from the metro. Our room was on the back side of the Hotel, which was quiet at night, and you could see the spires of Sagrada Familia, and the Barcelona Cathedral from the balcony. One of the Gaudi buildings is across the street from the hotel, but unfortunately it is being restored right now, so is fully covered with scaffolding and not open to the public.

Room was OK -- for one night, it did what it had to do. Had double bed + single bed in outer room for our son, but that was it -- no other couch, chairs, table so for more than a night, or two max, it would not have been comfortable. Room and bathroom were very clean. Front desk staff did not go out of their way to help with info, directions, getting taxi, etc., but did comply and we did get the info we needed -- just felt like we were imposing.

My only problems were that the rooms were not ready at 12 am and that the cafeteria closed before the published time. Access by car is also very difficult because of the one-way system. An unexpectered bonus was that our terrace looked out on the roof of the Palau Guell and Gaudi's superb chimneys.

The hotel was as good as you would get for the price and location. It is situated a few yards down a side road from the very busy boulevard Las Ramblas. We had a small balcony looking out onto the street which was nice. The hotel is right in the heart of the main tourist areas, walking distance to the port, the shopping areas and the Gothic quarter.

Parking and breakfast are not included and expensive. Third bed in the room is unconfortable. No safebox in the room. Staff was not able to tell me the addres of a very close and nice restourant. General experience is good because the hotel has a nice structure and the location very good.

Our first stay, we had a second room for our children. The service was excellent, location great, room surprisingly well appointed, bathroom spotless and everything worked. The full breakfast buffet was included at no extra cost (though our reservation said it was not)... a/c worked good, as did the shut out blinds and the bed was very comfy. We would recommend and go back, price was great for the location and quality of room.
