We really enjoyed our stay at the Fira Palace. It is, however, a business persons hotel, so though it is beautiful, spacious and clean, it is a little sterile. Also, I believe that since it caters to business, the staff is not as knowledgeable about tourist attractions, hours, and openings as you might expect. We were misled about the hours of an attraction that not only ended much earlier than expected, but would not be repeated daily as we were told but only on the weekends, as it was October. Wifi is not included unles you are an iPrefer customer. This is easy enough to do by enrolling on line, however, if I had not done so, wifi would have been an extra charge. Also, one must get a new wifi card every 24 hours. I would imagine this must really bother business people. Breakfast is also not included and for a hotel of this caliber, I thought that was uncalled for and unusual. Other than those few small things, the hotel was well situated, close to transportation and very close to the beautiful gardens and National Palace of Barcelona. Veneer.com got us a superb rate for a great hotel. I can recommend this fine establishment.

Expensive for what it has to offer. Good spacious rooms, Hotel needs to be modernized, certainly new flooring needs to be done. First night lot of noise by nearby nightclub. Nice pool and fitness. Breakfast not included.

This hotel is near the Barcelona fair and Plaza de Espanya, were you can get subway and bus. My room was very quiet and so large that it was like a junior suite! Also large bathroom, divided into three different spaces. Very large commons areas, with restaurant, breakfast room, bar lounge with tv and small shop. Staff was kind and competent and there was internal parking on the basement floors. A very good value for the money.

Very nice hoel with helpful staff. Very spacious room but the beds were a bit hard, the staff fixed it so the beds were softer. Montjuic is a nice place to stay in Barcelona. Recommend the Telerific to the castle, amazing view over Barcelona.

The hotel is located in a great place- close to restaurants, tourist attractions, the tourist bus while also being on a quiet street at night. We enjoyed our time there including the breakfast buffet where some gluten free items were provided by the wait staff when we asked if an item on the 'healthy' table was gluten free. It wasn't but the waitress said she would bring some gluten free food from the kitchen and she brought two hot rolls and two mini croissants. This really added to our trip! We had them the next day too!

We had a great room for the price, 84 Euros, but I would not want to pay full price for this location (at "Fira" Barcelona Convention Center). Easily accessible to Montjuic museums and park. Walk to subway Placa Espanya or take taxi (always 2-4 outside hotel) to get to rest of city. 20 min from airport; about 25-30 Euros. Or take Aerobus to Placa Espanya for 5.05 Euros and walk 5-10 min. Indoor pool and fitness center. Buffet at moderate cost. Food at nearby cafes varied in quality. Luxurious marble bathroom with shower stall and tub.

We were very happy with our stay in the Fira Palace. The hotel was in an excellent location. Room was perfect -a nice touch were the super blackout curtains - just what all hotels should have but very few do! Staff were very courteous and professional. We would definitely return and will be recommending this hotel to family and friends.

This was our first time in Barcelona. The breakfast was too expensive therefore we did not try it. Nearby the hotel there were small cafes, but the types of the products were not suitable for our taste.(It may be suitable for other european countries). Our room was the very big. The bathroom was fine. Other than the breakfast everything was OK. The hotel is worth its price.

This hotel is close to the olympic village so is therefore just outside the centre where all the major tourist attractions are but is only a short metro ride away. Depending on your pace the hotel is only 5-10 minutes walk from the nearest metro station. We stayed in Barcelona for only three nights but could have stayed for a week. If you get the chance go to a match at the Nou Camp. I have been to an FA Cup final and the match we went to, a friendly against Inter Milan had 98,000 fans and the atmosphere was as good as the FA cup final. The hotel is excellent and is definately 4 star standard. The only thing lacking for us and it is only a small thing, they had no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.

A first class hotel, very large comfortable room, beautiful bathroom with the best shower I have ever encountered. Good location, quiet, short walk to nearest Metro station, and well situated for walking to Montjuic and the Palace display fountains. Didn't use the restaurant because it was expensive compared to other local eateries. Easy taxi ride from the airport (24 euros) and always taxis parked outside. Ice making machine hidden on the 3rd floor landing of the fire-escape/stairs (very useful , but took me 3 days to find it). Take the furnicular train from Para-lel Metro stn then the cable-car (7 euros) up Montjuic, great fun. Don't bother with the other cable-car across the harbour, queues can be bad if you don't like standing, also had a power failure on my trip so couldn't make return trip (wasn't bothered about missing return, and got refund). Buy a multi-day Metro travel card, very useful for getting about. Parc Guell is over-rated but Sagrada Familia is fantastic (get there early)

We were surprised how large and nice this hotel was. Our family rented 3 rooms for 3 nights. The rooms were spacious, clean, air conditioned, and surprisingly quiet, even the one near the elevators. The restaurant was expensive so we didn't eat there. The main disadvantage of this compared to other places we have stayed in Italy was the lack of a free breakfast (they wanted €15). However, there was a little bakery shop directly across the street which had a good variety of pastries and drinks. There is not much variety of eating places within 4-6 blocks, although we managed to find places down on Avinguda del Parallel. If you are into fine dining, expect to take a taxi. One great thing about the Fira Palace is that it is just a couple of blocks from la Font Magica in front of the National Art Museum -- on the weekend evenings there are great music+lights shows at the fountain and maybe 1000 people come to see the dancing water & colored lights in synchronization with the music. Happens every half hour in the evening on the weekend. Overall, this was a great hotel for the money, and they were very accommodating with a late checkout and other information. There seem to always be taxis available out front. The neighborhood seemed safe, as we walked around it at night multiple times. The streets around it are cleaner than what you will find in Rome, but probably not as clean as those in your own neighborhood at home. All in all, I would recommend the Fira Palace highly. ------ Advice: Just 3 blocks up was a pickup point for the Bus Turistic, which we used. One comment is use the bus in the early morning because it gets super packed later in the day. Don't make the mistake of getting on the Barcelona Tours bus, which has one loooong route around the city. The Bus Turistic has 3 routes so it is quicker to get to places and to get back home. The bus gives you a good tour of the city in the open air (top level of bus) which was fun.

My husband was running the barcelona marathon and so we wanted a hotel close to the start. Could not fault The Fira Palace it was 2 mins walk to the start of the marathon at Palaca Esapanya where there is also a metro stop. However if you are a fit and able person only a 15 -20 min walk along Avenida Parallel brings you to the port and Las Ramblas. Found the staff very helpful in providing maps and an adaptor plug. If I decide to run the marathon next year we will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is perfectly situated out of the noisy tourist district but convenient to metro to reach almost all important attractions. A casual walk to La Rampla takes about 20 minutes. The hotel is very attractive with huge rooms (each with a lounge area) and large, marble bathrooms (separate shower and tub, two sinks, water closet). The shower has massage jets. We paid around 125 euro a night...deal.

The rooms were spacious, well furnished and clean. Staff dealt promptly with reports of a broken light bulb and a blocked sink. The area felt safe at night. We were confused by the statement from Venere that "Breakfast is included in the price for guests checking in before August 31st." Needless to say it wasnt true!

Good hotel and although expensive still quite good value. It wasn't clear when booking that breakfast was not included in the price which was surprising considering the price. Other services eg HotelConnect always include breakfast so there is no ambiguity. Apart from that no other complaints.

This was a great hotel, just beautiful and all of a 4 or 5 stars. Breakfast was 14 euro's so we never tried as you can get it for much less. Short walk to metro and just under 10 minute on metro and you're at los ramblos. Only thing was I wouldn't try and walk to los ramblos as it's about 25 or 30 mintue walk. I'll stay again the next time I'm in barcelona. Try calling the hotel direct as we got a better rate $100 euro and they cancelled the first reservation and rebooked with the lower rate know problem. Great Place to stay.

Everything was fine until departure. I was given bill in euros, with no changes to amounts published. I gave them credit card, expecting them to charge in euros, allowing bank to convert. However, they did their own conversion rate before charging the card in dollars. and it was quite unfavourable to me! Pay in cash, or at least question their policy before paying bill.!!

I was extremely impressed and wish I stayed there sooner. I went to Fira because I hated the hotel I was staying at, and was so excited when I got there. I was sick I wasted 5 days prior at another hotel. It exceeded my expectations and will stay there again when I return to Barcelona. I also loved the location. The rooms were so QUIET I LOVED IT. Large too. You need to advertise the size of the rooms and the quietness to Americans, I assure you they will love the hotel.

Only stayed for one night whilst passing through Barcelona. A first class hotel in a good city centre location. Only fault was having arrived late due to delayed flight I was unable to get a sandwich or anything from room service as it stopped at 11pm. For a hotel of this size and hitgh quality I would have expected 24 hr service, especially as the bar was still going strong and had 3 staff serving 6 punters.

Good Location near Fira(Fare),5 Minutes walk to the Spanish Place (Underground, Busses ). Hotelroom spaceous and quiet. Excellent Bathroom ! Breakfast was not included, had medium quality but expensive ( 14 € & Tax )!Restaurant good but also very expensive. Some good Restaurants in the neighbourhood should be preferred. Internet Access per WLAN works good but 15 €/Day. All in all excellent stay.

Hotel generally matched upto expectations very well.Food in the restaurant was excellent. Main disappointment was that it had not been explained that as it was a bank holiday weekend (6th December)facilities like the hairdressers salon and the leisure facilities would generally not be available , nor was there a pianist in the piano bar in the evenings.

I travelled with my son to barcelona, booked this hotel via the internet, it lived up to the website in every detail. i booked the hotel partly because of it's very high standard and reasonable price, partly because of the facilities offered, especially the swimming, gyms and squash, and partly because it was away from the noisy areas near las ramblas and old town. we were not disappointed in any way with what we expected, the friendliness of the staff and the standard of the facilities was excellent. my only caution would be that it was actually a fair walk to get to the busier parts, it did not bother us, we wanted that, although it was a little further than expected, but if you are not prepared to walk any distance, be prepared to take transport to the busy parts (las ramblas/beach etc)
