It is highly recommended in general. When I arrived they put me in a very noisy room (311), right in front to Rosselló Street. (If you have trouble to sleep with noise, avoid such a room). Next morning I asked them for another room, quiet as I had booked. They kindly asked to move to room 201. It was perfect: it has more space and it is very quiet. I suppose any room numbered _01 in this hotel is a good choice. The 201 window is right in front of a child-toy square and if you sleep too much in the morning you probably will wake up with children’s voices smoothed by the room sealed window. The surrounding is perfect in terms of restaurants and facilities for walking or taking metro to everywhere interesting to see in Barcelona. At the check-in they give me an envelope with some hints about restaurants and other information common asked by tourists. I realized that they use it to avoid being bored with those repeated questions at the front desk. I tried the recommended restaurants and found them good choices. One time I asked the front desk guy about an Air France office around. He didn´t know and suggested me to look for in the internet using the computers available right at the corner behind the elevators doors. I found out an Air France office at the neighborhood just some blocks far from the hotel (Balmes Street, 89/6 floor). One great thing about this hotel is the breakfast. Its served up to 10h30min or 11h in the morning and you can eat all you need as a very nutritive and tasteful breakfast.

My mother and I stayed here for 5 nights. From reading tons of other reviews on this site and others I was slightly apprehensive. However, I was proved wrong.Hotel was lovely.Room was spacious compared to many other european city hotels. We brought our own little kettle as my mother likes her coffee and this worked out well as the room had a mini bar which was a little fridge.Very handy for keeping milk etc in.The breakfast was nice but expensive. There is a lovely large and cheap supermarket right across the street to get all fruit, cereal, fresh buns etc.Always hot water in the shower. Bring a cable for your laptop for internet and there is no charge and the speed is excellent!! If you want wifi its expensive though or you can buy a cable at reception I believe. The safe in the room is large enough for a laptop and they give you the entire lock part at reception with a 50 euro deposit. Location was great if you are into living in cities. I've lived in Manhattan and it reminded me very much of the upper east side.Hotel is only a brief walk from the metro, the city bus to Park Guell and the Hop on Hop off bus. Also Plaza Catalunia is a wonderful street to shop in! Much better than Las Ramblas and the silly expensive Passeig de Gracia. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. Only negative comment is that the staff are somewhat 'cold' and unfriendly. We found this to be a general thing around Barcelona so didnt take it personally. There was one younger guy at reception who was really really nice though and smiled and stood out with helpfulness. Without him my review may have been completely different. Hotel area very safe and very pretty. Delightful with plenty of places to eat in surrounding blocks.

We spent 3 nights at the Evenia Rossello on 6/13, 6/21 and 6/22/09. The front desk staff were very friendly and gave us good information to help us get around the city. The rooms were very clean and modern. The location is great since there is a subway stop 4 blocks away and the surronding neighborhood is very nice. My biggest complaint is the hard mattresses. I read other reviews with the same complaint. It boggles my mind why a hotel would have such ridiculous mattresses. These mattresses are not firm - they are concrete. Breakfast should be included and they should offer free internet access.

Beautiful hotel in a nice area in Barcellona, not far from the center and from the metro. People at the reception kind and helpfull, the only "bad thing" the quiteness of the room, disturbed by the women who are cleaning...they are really noisy in the morning (that was my case...) anyway I suggest this hotel!

Overall great hotel, even if breakfast room a bit noisy and breakfast bit expensive for the quantity of food offered. Good point they have a parking lot, rather easy to access. Ask for a quiet room at elevated floor. Be aware that some room have windows on a very small internal patio.

A very convenient hotel with well furnished modern although slightly small rooms and a good restaurant but directions terrible - it is off the Diagonal in Barcelona which is a very difficult road to know where you are and to get off in the dark! Now we know where it is we would say again (it has secure parking although a little expensive).

Very clean, helpful staff. Good location for a tourist visiting Barcelona. Particularly pleased that I had ask for a 3 bedded room and got three beds....usually in hotels this would have meant a double and a single - this was perfect.

The corridor carpets on 'our' floor badly needed vacuuming, particularly round the doorways. However, this may have resulted from ongoing maintenance work (not seen or heard but suspected).

A negative point: We had the room 209. It means just above the terrasse of the restaurant next. The saturday evening, it was noisy due to a birthday organised on this terrasse. A second one: The cleaning ladies are also very noisy. The hoover was regularly smacked into the walls....

This was the first time in barcelona and the hotel was really good. It was clean, staff were friendly and very helpful. However it was quite hard to find tourist information on the first day from the hotel, it is about 15 minute walk from the hotel, but still was easy to get there. The metro is also the same distance, but there was metro works taking place so there maybe a metro stop near the hotel in the future. Only drawback was that breakfast was not included...however there are local shops nearby and cafes.

This hotel is very well located, is near the "pedrera" and several good restaurants and cafes, as well as the promenade, the rooms are great, the bathroom very good, the beds a bit harsh, is a modern style. We liked it very much.

This hotel was excellent and just what I was looking for (safe, secure, great location, hospitable, etc). You are literally 3 blocks away from Las Ramblas, 1 block away from a metro, and seconds away from bars and restaurants. I went with friends and had a great time but am already planning my next trip with my family and will DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again

The hotel is pretty good, it is not far from the centre and in a good residence area. The room we had was not very big, anyway it was clean and nice. For the breakfast we tried several coffeebars around, it was probably the best choice, since in the hotel it was too expensive. Maybe the walls are not so thick, actually it will depend on your neighbours... There is also a nice pub just in front of the hotel, opened till late. Enjoy your stay!

This hotel is very close to Paseo de Gracia and the metro/bus stations. So you can go everywhere quickly. The hotel is very nice, a real 4 stars, with a nice restaurant and breakfast until 11 on Sundays. It was a pity just that i asked for a double bed room and I had a twin, like always happens in Spain.

We oredered 3 double rooms (that meant 3 double bed "matrimonial") and we all had twin bedded-rooms with 2 single beds. That was the only bad point and would have been very bad for a longer stay. For 2 nights, it was acceptable.

Had chosen hotel with air-con, but found not operating properly. was told at receptionthat was problem, but no feed-back on why or when resolved. had to open window to get air-con!! Could do this because at rear of hotel, so no street noise. Mapping of hotel, as indicated on viamichelin search of rout was very bad!

3 of us stayed at this hotel at the beginning of April 2005. The location was very good. The hotel is in good condition and the rooms are spacious for a European hotel. The only downside was the frontdesk staff who tried to help but their "capacity" was limited. They do speak some English and they missed our reservation for a restaurant although our request was very easy to fulfill. the visitors would be better off on relying their guide books.

We booked a triple room which turned out to be a double with an extra bed squeezed into it. When we asked for a triple room it turned out that all rooms are the same size. We specifically booked this hotel to get a large triple room, but my Dad ended up sleeping in a shorter, lower bed that had been taken out from underneath one of the other beds. This was very unsatisfactory. The hotel was clean and well looked after, but the staff were not all that friendly, perhaps because we asked for the room that we believed we had booked. I would have given this a higher rating but for that fact.
