The location of the place, far from the airport, expensive taxi costs, but a very nice quality hotel. Walking distance of the metro a lot of constructions around, not such a nice environment around but neat place, clean, and the lady at the reception was super nice.

Excellent position, 50 metres from the metro station El puxtet, in a silent, residential place. Clean and spacious room, well designed and comfortable bathroom, LCD TV, air conditionig, very well refurbished (quality wood and marm). Incredible value for money and the price/quality ratio is at the top! There is only a lack: the competence of employees: 3 questions, all wrong answers!

Overall it was a very nice stay in this Hotel. Nice and quiet rooms, good infrastructure, good breakfast. One problem: first night they gave our booked room to somebody else so we had to stay one night in another room, in some kind of company housing. next day we could move to our "normal" room.

It's my second time in Mitre. It's a small hotel, the room was not so big but clean and in very good condition, the bathroom was small too but very clean (+ jacuzzi!). The "metro" station and the bus stop (after midnight take the bus N5 from plaza catalunya) are less than 50m of distance. The Reception is open 24/7 and they understand and (someone) speak italian. I recommend this hotel for the quality/cost ratio but I suggest to the beach-maniacs to look for another one nearest to the ramblas.

Rooms were fine, however small. My friend was sick during our stay therefore we preferred to leave the room for a couple of hours every day instead of keeping watching the walls. The quality vs. price relationship is good. Keep in mind that it will take approx. 15 min to reach the centre by metro. If you need more quality time: chose a hotel close to the Ramblas.

It was difficult to find the hotel in town as pecified in the guide and maps. But then everything went right. Appart from breakfast not included in price and quite expensive, the hotel is OK, clean and quiet. The garage is also expensive and small, so room for the car is not always available. We have been positively surprised by the price lower than announced on reservation. We do recommend this hotel.

Although the hotel's location is a bit off city center, it is near the bus & metro stations. The price quoted though in a high season should have included breakfast. The hotel was just as advertised on the Venere site and reviewed by previous guests - excellent value, located on quiet street, easily accessible to city centre by public tranport, well-maintained and recently refurbished, air-conditioning. We were pleased to have been warned on the Mitre site of the extortionate 9 euro charged for breakfast. Warning - the map on the hotel website is terrible, not at all to scale, and very confusing! We had to get directions from the tourist office and a better map!

The Mitre was exceptionally good value for money for a city hotel. Our room was comfortable, quiet and clean, although if I do have a critiscism it is that the corridors could do with recarpeting. For under £500 for 7 nights for 2 of us it was excellent value. Breakfast in the hotel was expensive but we found a good local bar which even managed eggs on toast! There is a local food market within a couple of minutes walk where we shopped for bread, cheese, ham and fruit for lunch. The local Metro was fast and efficient and multi journey tickets worked out about £1.80 per day for unlimited travel. It only takes about 10 mins from hotel to Barcelona Centre.

Hotel pretty much as descibed on web pages. Location wise, although some distance from centre, it was very easy to use the nearby underground. Breakfast, although very good choice wise, was not included in the cost and this was not specified at the time of booking. On our last night one of the beds collapsed, it was only supported by cardboard boxes. We were only recompensed with our breakfast & small bar bill though this did not ruin our stay.

This hotel was fine and served very well as a base for a couple of nights in Barcelona. Though not central it is very close to an underground station.(Not however a metro station but a different operator so be sure to find the correct station downtown). By far the biggest problem was finding the place to begin with. the map and directions on the web page are useless. The hotel is hidden away in a side street, off a side street, off the Ave Balmes! A detailed map or perhaps ask for directions is a must if you don't want an unplanned tour of Barca's suburbs!

The Venere was everything we had hoped for. The metro was just around the corner, allowing us to get to the centre easily. The hotel was down a very quiet road. Breakfast is not included in the price quoted and although a little pricey, it was very good. Beware of the taxi drivers if they are carrying your luggage. They charge per extra case and one of them charged far too much. Other than that they are very reasonable from he airport. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very good value. It is just round the corner from the metro station so you can get to the heart of the city easily by day. But the metro closes at 11.00pm so you rely on taxis and depending on what areas you want to return from late at night it does add up to the overall cost. The bathroom was nice and well equipped. The bedroom was rather small but bed was comfortable.

Located in a residential/commercial area near Mt. Tibidabo, very close to Metro stop Putxet. We had no qualms walking around a night. Taxi from the train station cost about 7E. Breakfast buffet is not included but is worth the price - it included pastries, breads, cereal, coffee, tea, juice, eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, cheese, pretty much everything. While all the rooms include a whirlpool bath, ours didn't work (not that I minded). All the rooms have their own air/heat control, a TV and a mini bar. To use the in-room safe you need to pay a refundable deposit plus an extra 1.50E fee a day. The room we had was away from the street and very quiet. I would recommend this hotel primarily because of the price. There's a Bus Turistic stop up the hill and if you don't mind taking the metro or bus to the historic areas, it's also a good location - it's in town, close to major transportation but not stranded in the middle of nowhere or out by the airport.

Hotel a little out of the city centre hubbub but was very easy access to El Putxet (say 'el puchet') local railway station. There are also lots of buses giving chance to see the town as you travel. Tickets for 10 journeys (T10)are very good value and can be used on metro, train and bus. Small room, no view but a nice escape from the bustle. Smart new decor inside room and hotel. Self serve buffet style breakfast could set you up for whole day.

Excellent Hotel in a very smart part of the north of the town, though a bit out of the main City. Within walking distance of the "Tramvia Blau-Tibidabo" & Parc Guell on the Red Route of the Bus Turistic which is a great place to start your journey to see all the fantastic sites that Barcelona has to offer. I would highly recommend this hotel and it's staff and service.

An over-priced hotel for what it is. If you're staying in Barcelona, you can find something much more central and of a higher quality than this for less. The hotel is very close to the El Putxet station but very close to a noisy main road and down a bit of a dingey street. That said, the public areas are very good, the selection for breakfast was excellent and the noise levels in the rooms were remarkably quiet. The stay at the hotel was most memorable though for the surliness/bad manners of the reception staff who were as rude and unhelpful as you could imagine.

The breakfast is NOT included in the price of the hotel. There was a nice looking buffet breakfast sitting out in the lobby, but watch out, because it costs nearly $9 Euro for breakfast per person. The room we had was very nice and clean but it was really noisy with extremely thin walls. The cleaning staff started cleaning next door really early in the morning and woke us up. The hotel is not centrally located, although easy to reach via metro until midnight. So if you come back any later, only way is via taxi.

A high quality hotel, but a little out of the way. The rooms were fine, and there's just enough room to squeeze a bottle of water in the minibar. There's a good local shop closeby to get water and snacks, and the nearest metro (El Putxet) is well serviced with trains every 10 minutes (to the minute) to Placa Catalunya, where you can connect to most other lines. Unfortunately, you have to pay again to switch between the two metro systems in Barcelona. Some Taxi's didn't know where the taxi was but ask for El Putxet and you'll be fine. One last thing, it's pronounced "Hotel Meet Ray" not "Hotel Mighter", a mistake we made on our first night.

Excellent Quality vs price for this hotel. Just some problems with the toilets and the bedroom bar but quick solution have been provided by employees. I will clearly recommand it to other persons

Our overall stay was good, the only thing I can warn you of is, don't use their phone for international calls, they screwed us good and proper with the rates! Happy travelling.

Hotel Mitre was a very good hotel. The staff are very friendly and if you ask will give you lots of information about what to see, how to get there and a cost effective way of doing it. The information on the website was accurate and the cost was very reasonable considering the prices of other hotels in Barcelona, i think i got a very good deal. Would definitely recommend this hotel. It is a little bit out of the main centre but close to Parc Guell and is quite at night. It definitely contributede to an excellent holiday.

Nice and clean rooms. location is not very convenient - pretty far from the major attractions, but the metro is only two blocks away. cab fare to la ramblas (ex.) approx. 6.5 Euros. A/C works only if room is occupied (room key card has to be inserted into the slot in the room). breakfast is very good. staff very helpful.

Although the room is rather small, but overall Mitre is a very nice, quite, clean and modern hotel. The location itself is 'nowhere' although not far from downtown AND well connected with the metro (the station is about 3 min walk from the hotel + about 4 stops/10min to Rambla). The staffs are friendly and helpfull, and the breakfast is better than (same level) most european hotel i've been anyway. Good value for the price i paid certainly!

This hotel is great! It offers excellent value for money with beautiful, newly refurbished rooms and frienly staff. The hotel is only a one minute walk from the metro which takes you the the Placa de Cataluna in under 5 minutes. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again if i ever revisit Barcelona!

Excellent accomodation for the price. A bit out of the way, but metro station is close by and only a few stops (1€) into the main area.

Very nice room, nice hotel. The only bad point would be the breakfast that wasn't included in the price of the room.Even if the hotel isn't located in Barcelona's centre, it only takes 10 minutes with the underground to get there. I really enjoyed my stay there.

The best price/service ratio, I have observed in Spain. I do recommend for people looking for high qualiy, with low-to-mid budget. I have to underline the breakfast which was also excellent.

Only two minutes from the metro and ten minutes into the centre of Barcelona, this hotel was excellent value for money. The staff spoke english and were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were very good with a wide choice. There was a good reasonable restaurant just across the road and on the main road nearby, a small shopping area with bank, baker, grocer and some restaurants. We would stay here again.

The hotel is good and the services correspond to the description. The originally booked room was a bit narrow and less spacious than the one where we finally stayed. The reason for mooving room was that the toilet room was stinking because of a waste water installation problem which could not be repaired on time. Taking into consideration the fact that the hotel is a bit far from the center, the price is a bit high for the rooms offered.
