Hotel Derby - Barcelona

The hotel was very noisy in the early morning for rooms cleaning.

An overall very pleasant experience, with a very friendly and cheerful staff that was there for you all the time. The hotel is what it is, but at the price, an excellent cost/value.

Very Good Breakfast, Quite Hotel not far from Subway Room Clean but not that spacious. Overall a very good stay.

Very nice! I was positively impressed by the quality of rooms, service provided and the excellent location( the public transportation was really close). I definitely recommend this hotel :)

Was first time when I had stay in Derby. I was tired when I get for check-in and I forgot my sunglasses on the reception desk, when I had ask if they found my sunglasses they answear no. The room has old furniture, the door from the bathroom was looking very bad, and if you keep open the wardrobe you can see the light from the bathroom. They where saying you receive complementary bottle of wine...forget about it! You should think twice before to choose Derby!!!

We spent our first week in Barcelona in Derby hotel this June. Hotel is in walking distance from main tourist attractions. Only 3 minutes away from tram. Great variety of restaurants near by. Friendly staff! Clean rooms. In one word: perfect!

Bell'ambiente con belle persone. si tratta di un buon hotel con camere ben rifinite e pulite. nelle vicinanze ci sono alcuni locali notturni, ma non creano alcun problema, è una zona tranquilla anche di notte. il prezzo della colazione è un po' costoso, ma in compenso il buffet è molto assortito. è un comodo punto d'appoggio sia per viaggi di lavoro che per vacanza.

Non è un gran che per essere a quattro stelle..

Ottimo albergo, pulito, personale eccellente, peccato sia un po' lontano dal centro ma col pullman (27 e 32 di giorno) si arriva alla stazione dove si può prendere la metro. La notte c'è invece un solo pullman per arrivare all'hotel (N12) che passa ogni 30 min.

El ambiente fue excelente. Muy bien ubicado para conocer Barcelona. Se puede llegar a pie a casi todo lo importante, salvo a la playa

The nearest metro station is at 15 minutes walking. You need to go out for breakfast. Apart from this, nice quiet hotel.

First time by this hotel. Very nice breakfast, rooms just a little run down but very spacious with a lot of light, and a perfect wifi free connection: Wonderfull. I will definitely come back to this hotel.

To begin on a positive note, the hotel was clean and modern. If you're a fan of art deco, this is your place. However, the pool wasn't at this hotel, but at a hotel owned by this company, located across the street from Hotel Derby. The pool was quite small, and misrepresented in photographs. The staff at the reception desk were detached at best, lending to a bit of irony in the term "reception". As a final comment, the noise from other rooms/guests was extremely loud, particulary sound traveling through the bathrooms.

Pulizia assoluta, accoglienza cordiale. Tutto il personale parla perfettamente l'italiano.TV con Rai1 e Rai2 gratuita. Posizione centrale ottimamente servita da mezzi pubblici.Vivamente consigliato. Unico problema:le finestre sono molto basse e se le aprite rischiate di cadere sulla strada.

Stayed there for nearly a week. The staff had their own dedicated member, that helped us out with where to go, what to see and so on in a manner that we appreciated. It's a huge advantege when going to Barcelona, because "the commom man in the streets" has a poor english tongue.

This is a very nice hotel. If you're wondering why it's so cheap, it's because it's not a walk from the city center at all. It's a bus ride or a metro ride for sure. And it's a good 10 minute walk to the metro station. Not a big deal, if you want a nice hotel for cheap. This is definately a great place to stay. The neighborhood isn't bad, it's just that on a Sunday, absolutely nothing is open (including the nearest Metro) so you're kind of stranded. And the rest of the days, there's really nothing good to eat in the area and nowhere to go. The business center consists of a computer on a table behind the reception desk. And the people who worked there were just very rude. Not helpful, snobby and rude. On the plus side, the stuff in the minibar was reasonably priced. On the downside the TV didn't work. Someone was sent up to fix it, he flipped through the channels and then left. So, on a whole, if you need a nice hotel for cheap, this is a good choice.

Il servizio e la sistemazione in stanza si è rivelato ottimo. Rispetto alla descrizione in internet del sito la collocazione dell'hotel si è rivelata un pò più distante dal centro: i dieci minuti in realtà devono essere riferiti all'uso di un mezzo di trasporto. Nel complesso però è ben situato in una zona accessibile ai mezzi pubblici a 5 minuti i bus e a 10 la metro. L'unico vero disguido incontrato è la poca insonorizzazione delle stanze.. per dormire bisogna avere un sonno di piombo perchè con la vita notturna spagnola tutta la notte è un grande via vai purtroppo condiviso in tutto il piano.

Impressive hotel, but it is a long walk to the Metro. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the Metro, and it is uphill. There are limited places to eat and drink close to the hotel.

Great hotel for the price. Excelent location, only 2 blocks from tour bus stop. Very friendly staff. Overall great hotel, i would definite ly stay there again.

Nice hotel with good rooms in a quiet neighborhood. + for CD-player and radio in every room. Service of staff was not as expected. We asked them to reserve a table at a restaurant for us, but nothing was done and no feedback given to us.

Very efficient, clean hotel with good services. The breakfast is to be recommended. The only problem was noise, from refurbishment of the hotel we think, but our stay was very early in the season and at a special rate. Overall very good value for money.

An extremely good hotel at very reasonable prices - we will definitely stay here again! The only improvement would be to have tea-making facilities in the room...a minor point.

The rooms and the hotel was noticably cold and the breakfast was absolutely overpriced!

The lobby was very beautiful and the rooms okay, I expected a bit more luxury out of a 4 star. For example, they could not give us an iron to use which surprised me. I witnessed the staff being very rude to other guests and I felt I was treated below par of service several times. Be warned, breakfast is not included and they will charge 13 euro a person - not posted anywhere.

The nearest metro stop is too far, about 8 min. walking and the location of the hotel on the web map is not clear at all. They give to us a noisy room just next to the lift and one morning at 9 a.m. they start to work with the drill in the corridory making a lot- a lot- a lot of noise.

Lovely hotel. Touch of luxury, big and clean rooms. The only downer is the location: it is about 20 minutes to the Placa Catalunia by bus. There is no metro station closer than a 15 minutes walk!

Ideal location to explore this wonderfull city. Friendly staff & the room was excellent.Overall we had an very enjoyable stay.

Very noisey rooms due to wood flooring and plumbing, rooms dark and small, food overpriced and poor quality.Overall not worthy of 4 star rating.

The location was further out than we expected however this did not end up being a problem as the bus stop for the tourist bus was only around the corner and metro a 10 min walk away. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The facilities were limited i.e the bar and restaurant never seemed to be open. The rooms however very very spacious but a little noisy.

Please give us real maps and informations on how to get to the hotel. The ones I had this time were REALLY bad, we looked for the hotel for more than an hour!!

We had a nice stay at the hotel but the next metro station was to far away for sightseeing. Although the hotel was quite nice, we would not stay there again because of that distance.

Good service, faraway from the metro, breakfast € 13 pp. in hotel but good coffeeshop and price better.

I think Derby Hotel in Barcelona is a very good hotel.In particular it is very comfortable.I am not sure if the rooms are very very beautiful, but surely very comfortable. Also the bathroom is clean and comfortable.The hotel is very cheap as well.

Good point to start sightseeing much cheaper than comparable hotels in inner city and close to a central bus stop

A very nice hotel in a quiet area in the Center of Barcelona. Very comfortable rooms.

I'm very happy, because the choice was perfect.... The hotel is very nice, and the hotel's team was very kindness.... i had enjoining my holidays period..... I think that derby hotel is one of the better choice that i could find... The hotel is situated in the most exclusive zone of the barcelona, but at the same time is very closely to the city life centre...(with taxy you can spend around 3 euros to go in the catalunia place).... I think that i'll can be another time in the barcelona, and i think that my choice can be derby hotel...

Overall satisfied with the hotel,but was under the impression that breakfast was included. When told that we would have to pay 13 Euros each for breakfast (78 euros for both of us for the 3 days, we felt cheated)

The only problem with this hotel is that is far from las ramblas. However, there is plenty of public transportation available in the area. The staff is courteous, specially mirella. She helped us getting familiar with Barcelona.

Not near any metro stop, although the map led us to believe otherwise. It was great that we could book for next day arrival!

Nice, quiet place and very clean. Breakfast recommended. Although it is quite a walk to the metro from here.
