The hotel was well located, clean, we arrived too early from a cruise and could leave luggage to visit the city. Everything was OK including breakfast and wifi. I would just advise the hotel to have other TV channels. It was a good quality for the price!

Limited by budget as a single traveller having to pay for a room for 2. I would equate the room I got on the first night to my idea of a prison cell! Very sparse - a small double bed, tv that didn't work on a very old table, intermittent fluorescent light, window facing an internal wall-no natural light/air, no pictures or decoration on walls. Saving grace was a reasonable shower room! I asked for a/c,light & tv to be mended or another room . No other room available til next night. Night receptionist was very pleasant & did do her best and got me a big fan & managed to get something on tv! Offered free breakfast next morning which was pretty basic-better cafés yards away & better value/choice compared to hotel's 5 Euros. Room change on 2nd night was better & what I would have expected for the price. Annoys me that too often single travellers pay a premium & get inferior quality!

Good hotel for a budget-vacation. Although the room we had was a bit noisy, we still enjoyed our stay at the Coronado. Metro-station a few minutes away and practically at the foot of the Monjuic. In about a 15 minutes walk you are at Ramblas. Certainly a hotel we consider for a next visit.

My impressions of the hotel are very good according to it's price. Great location relative to the subway. On the street that leads to the hotel is located a few good bars and two 24h stores. Friendly staff, clean and tidy room. The only negative is the absence of normal TV channels in English, after all, the majority of the guests did not know spanish. I would recomend it!

It's near Ramblas and it's easy to reach every important site of the town with metro. It'important to know that price is higher because of paying with card than of paying with money???????? I don't understand!

I stayed in Coronado on July/2012 with two daughters. Coronado hotel was a good-quality one star hotel in quite shabby but quiet neighbourhood. Personnel were not proactive on making us feel welcome. But when budget travelling, this is totally ok place for sleeping. Sound isolation in windows was good so the street side windows didn’t bother us as the A/C was working nicely. I was surely missing free Wi-Fi which starts to be available in all properties. I wouldn’t take breakfast in the hotel as there is cheaper breakfast available in close surroundings e.g. on the way to close by underground. If you are not eager walker you might need a day-card to public transportation when staying in this hotel.

I stayed here with my daughter for 3 nights in June 2012. The hotel was basic but clean and the location was very good. 10 minute walk to La Ramblas and port area. The walk back can be a little dreary at night time but there are always plenty of people walking around so it's not a lonely place to walk. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

For a 1 star hotel this hotel was excellent value for money. Good location, close to metro station and La Rambla, great coffee shop/bar round the corner serving nice breakfast(not included). Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms basic but clean. Shower a bit old but lots of hot water. Clean towels every day.I would definitely consider staying there again.

Very good location: 5min to the rambla e 2min to the metro. Clean hotel and rooms, and nice personal. The room could be better isolated (noise from the other rooms and from the wc). Please check carefully the bill by the check out to avoid to pay some extra not used. For the price really very good hotel. If I will have again the possibility to visit Barcellona, the hotel Coronando will be again my choose.

The hotel is really near to the best places of the city:you can take bus,or metro or you can reach by feet everyplace.Paral.lel is just 2 or 3 minutes walking. The staff is perfect:service 24h and they're very polite. The breakfast is perfect:it is continental and you can eat and drink a lot.Near the hotel there're some places (like la mala reputaciò) that offer also vegan/vegetarian food. The chek-out from the hotel is about at 11 a.m. but the staff offer the chance to leave the luggage in the hotel (totally free service, that's fantastic!). Overall we enjoyed the best accomodation in Barçelona, the best staff and the best relationship between price and quality. Thanks for everything! I will comeback sure in this hotel and i will tell everyone about this hotel!

Air conditioner did NOT WORK. I asked for someone to look at it twice and they kept saying someone would be up. when the room is rather dark to begin with, the sheets are a bit coarse and the temperature is HOT with no air, it is hard to find anything much to recommend. Lobby is quite nice, staff was pleasant but unresponsive to the issue.

Hotel Coronado is a good hotel, very clean and confortable. The location is also very good, the underground station, several convenience shops, small markets and restaurants at very close distances. The hotel has a lifter which in my case is of most importance since going upstairs is a real concern. The breakfast is simple but good enough. The only flaw about Coronado was caused by the air conditioning. Every 10 minutes or so the machine generated a sound which lasted a few seconds, but loud enough to disturb your night's sleep. And the sound was allways there even if you had the air conditioning turned off.

The hotel décor was very tired and in need of some attention. Location was on the outskirts of the main tourist areas, very close to Montjuic, but close to the Parall Lel metro on line L3 so getting around was not too difficult. Local restaurants were very good value. Use Areobus to get from airport to city centre, good value and easy. Then use metro line L3.

Good location in that it is close to las ramblas. Hotel itself is below average. Would recommend only for those who need a place to leave their luggage. We initially booked it for that reason after coming off a cruise in the morning and having a full day until our flight, but we ended up staying until the next day. Walls are paper thin. Hotel was full of LOUD tourists blaring music and shouting over each other all night, we didnt sleep despite buying earplugs. Cleaners were just as bad slamming doors etc. It's treated more like a hostel then a hotel, so if this is what you're looking for then work away.

We got the room with a regular window (as requested), but not with a kingsize bed (requested as well), but the reception staff offered us to change the room, which we finaly did not do, because the room had only schaft window. The reception staff was very kind and helpful to answer any question. The location of the hotel is good, aprox.10min. walk to La Rambla street, just few meters to underground station and quite near by the Montujic park, which is beatiful. We have never been disturbed by cleaning staff, problem can be only some "wild party" in other rooms... The matraces could be better, not like trampoline and the bad smell from the drain in the bathroom we eliminated by stopper in the bath - I do not recommend the room with the schaft window for the same reason.

This is a great budget hotel. It is clean, the staff are friendly and the location is good--5 minutes from Para-lel metro and about 15 from La Rambla. Very easy to walk or take a quick metro ride to any city sights. Also, breakfast is included, which although it was average, it's pretty rare to find a budget hotel with breakfast included in the price, so that was great too. Free and fast wifi also a bonus! Excellent location. You can walk to most places. Las Ramblas was a short walk away . The subway was only 2 blocks away and very convenient. It went straight to The Sagrada without having to change trains. The only bad thing I can say is that the rooms were small and a bit dated but clean. The shower was hard to use because it was small and the water sprayed all over and flooded the bathroom floor. We had an inside room so there was no view but the room worked for us because we only slept in it. Ask for an outside room if you want a real window. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and answered all questions and gave directions. The breakfast was good and plentiful. It was only from 8-10, though. For the money and location, I would stay here again. We felt safe here.

The breakfast buffet is not very good, since the food is of low quality (very greasy croissant, bad sausage, etc.), and there are no fruits, yogurt, etc. Moreover, the number of tables/chairs is insufficient for the number of guests, so at some days we had to wait until some table became vacant. Although the surroundings of the hotel are not very beautiful,it is very well located - only a 5 mins walk to the metro station and 10 mins walk to La Rambla.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Metro station, the sea and the pedestrian street (La Rambla) are very close. The price for the hotel is reasonable. However the money transaction from credit card was done in USD - so some more EUR had to be paid. In the price was included good breakfast. Also the internet access was available. The house of hotel has very small middle yard (area). The windows of the rooms 201, 301 … go to this small yard. So the rooms do not have enough daylight. In case somebody stays more then two days it is better do not have those rooms. The staff is polite and besides Spanish speaks English very good. The stay in the hotel was enjoyable.

I paid £46 for this room and it was not worth it as room 407 needs some redocorating as there is bad damp on one wall. Breakfast was basic continental, but the bonus of bacon was good so could make a nice bacon butty (so english i know) but no fruit or yoghurts were available at all during my short city break there. Nice reception rooms just my room needed updating. Other wise ok for a stay as a budget hotel Staff were friendly & helpfull which is always a bonus as well.

Shower was amazing!!! Rooms very clean and very good value for money. Classy decor but i'm afraid beds need to be updated to bring rooms up to same standard as the rest of hotel. Ideal for budget hols which we were on. Breakfast is sufficient but basic but plenty of cafes in the nr by area if you dont fancy it. Literally ten mins walk to the main stretch (La Rambla). Staff helpful but mind the hotel bar - as all hotel bars, expensive! Go to the local supermarket. We got a decent btl of vino for 3 euros!!

The good: The Hotel is very good, especially considering the price you pay. The breakfast was good (and hot - Bacon and sausages), the staff was nice and helpful, and the location is 10 min. walk from la ramblas. It's everything we wanted in a BNB. The bad: The interior rooms are noise-free, but the exterior aren't. Don't expect any English TV. The air conditioning doesn't work when the window is open. when we got to the hotel, our toilet was missing the wooden seat. All in all – highly recommended for those who won't spend lots of time at the hotel.

Money has been spent on renovations in the public area but the bedrooms are badly in need of some attention. The beds were, frankly, terrible. The bedding had stains (it looked like paint) and the TV did not have any channels that worked. The TVs should be taken out of the room and the guests would gain more space. The bathroom wasn't ventilated - the extractor fan didn't work and the ceiling was showing signs of distress. On the plus side the staff were very friendly and very welcoming. The rooms were cleaned daily to a good standard. The breakfast was plentiful and adequate. The location is not in a touristy area but not far from the centre (a big plus for me!). It's an easy walk to Las Ramblas, there is a metro line 50metres from hotel and you can be on top of Montjuic in less than 30mins walk. I thought it was a little overpriced for the quality of accommodation. I would stay here again but not at that price.

I had been in Coronado hotel for 4 nights and I had a great time. Quality vs.Price has really positively surprised me also for very good included-in-price breakfast.foods offered are continental and various, maybe the only negative aspect regards the location: although coronado is really near Las Ramblas, the street (carrer nou de la Rambla) is not so good at night. The hotel was easy to find and very close to the subway... the streets surrounding it aren't very pretty but they're safe :) the hotel is located pretty centrically, only two subway stations to pretty much everything, and with a lot of cafes, and a night club near. The common areas of the hotel are gorgeous, and the help staff are very friendly and always ready to help you out in anything you need. The breakfast was OK, only that after 4 days it got a bit tyring, they could add a bit of variety. The room was a bit dark for my liking but they were roomy, actually we were two people and we got three beds for some reason (not complaining) The only complaint I had is that we had a very rude cleaning lady. Apart from that this was a great hotel, specially considering that Quality vs. Price... I would certainly come back.

We Were 2 Families of 4 people, and it was all quite good. The hall and the welcoming were really good, but the rooms are really poorly dressed.... Of course we didn't aspect Ritz, but we were afraid that the doors of the rooms could went down on a moment to the other! However Coronado shoulb a good location in Barca, easy to reach walking and with metro...

Consigliatissimo!!

The hotel surroundings is not very good, because it is an old area of the city and it is not well-preserved. Event tough, the metro is just a few blocks from the hotel (5 minutes). The breakfast is fairly good, because there are some options to choose. The reception was recently refurbished and is really beautiful and neeat, and the staff is very welcoming. The rest of the hotel is still old, including the rooms. There is a strange elevator in the middle of the stairs, a very old one by the way, where a maximum of 3 people can go in. The hotel is very noisy, with a lot of noises of doors, people talking, luggage being moved form the reception to the rooms and vice-versa.

One of the staff member speak french. It's not a beautiful hotel, but it's clean. The area is practical, you can walk to the Rambla in 5-10 minutes. The metro is very close. The breakfast consist of croissant, cheese and ham. You can eat cereal too. Coffee and juice. It's noisy, but not like you can't sleep. Close the window, Barcelona is a partying city!

The hotel is undergoing some renovations. The part that was done looked really good, but the rest of it looked really bad. The location is very good and close to a metro and the Ramblas, but not so close as to have all the traffic and noise. The hotel clerk was very helpful and called us cabs whenever we needed them.

This budget hotel is going through some renovation, but it seems endless as I have read other reviews from 2006 stating the same. The room was reasonable, small, not so clean in the first day (they manage to improve the cleanliness in the second day), with a good bathroom (new and well equipped). Breakfast was good and served until 10am (sharply). The persons at the reception desk were fine, but the girl that stayed there on our first night refused to provide us with an extra pillow – this was kindly done by the reception person the day after. The lift is quite old (as all others in Europe) and the stairs are not really appropriate for an emergency exit. Generally, it was a good option considering the price.

It is a good hotel for the price we paid (55 euro). We only stayed one night at the begining of November 2006. The room and the bathroom were not very spacious, but clean and comfortable. A continental breakfast is included in the price (good coffee). The location of the hotel is not near of the main attractions of Barcelona, but a metro station is in 5 minutes walking distance. The only complaint is that the the main entrance of the hotel (hall) was under refurbishment when we arrived, and we had to jump over the wires, and that area was full of dust. Apart from that we had a pleasant stay.

Nice and cheap hotel, very central location, friendly and helpfull staff. Breakfast was a bit poor from a danich point of view, but it was included in the price, and the homepage said it was not, so no complaining.

The staff are very friendly and helpful couldn’t fault them on that, Only gripe is we were not informed of on going refurbishment which is the result of low score on public area. Our room was small but the beds were comfy. I would certainly return to this hotel if I were to visit Barcelona again. A good place to eat is just down the road one block. Its a German type pub with pumps on the tables, so no waiting for the efficient staff to serve you. The menu is written in Spanish, but on request there is one written in English. The food was good and large servings, One word of warning we were advised to take a photo copy of our passport when going out as passport thief is rife Barcelona, is will be accepted when changing money.

Excelent value tourist hotel, just outside the old town, in a safe, quiet, urban street. Professionally run, with friendly multi-lingual staff. Double room was reasonably sized, clean, simply furnished, with good bathroom. Simple continental breakfast with good coffee. Not for party animals or luxury seekers, but makes a great base for exploring Barcelona. As well as the metro, there's lots of buses from Parallel.

Hotel undergoes some changes right now, getting a bigger breakfast area. Spaciousness - well we had a 3 bed room with 3 grown ups, so there was not much space left... Next time we will book a double and a single;-)
