Hotel Confortel Barcelona - Barcelona

Their motto is PAY FIRST AND MOUTH OFF BECAUSE IT IS NOT POSSIBLE. Then, you cannot cancel!!! They try to save on everything and look greedy: no maps, no boiler for the water of my son (go to the restaurant at 6.30 am or 23pm when it s close!!!), no TV control (you can steal it!!!) etc..... I travel for my job and I can confirm the hotel is 3 or 4 stars by itself but their services are below 2 stars: no service at all with a receptionist always alone and under the snow ! Do not go with kids or family.

It was my first time in Barcelona. The Hotel is not located in the center of the city,which I appreciated. The Underground is about a 10 min walk away. Inbetween 10 minutes you reach down town with the Underground. And it's only a 10 Minutes walk to the beach side. I enjoyed it very much and I will certanly stay in this Hotel again. Bea at the Front desk was really a angel answering all my questions being patient and friendly.

Great location for a combined sight-seeing / beach vacation. Hotel is in the Poblenou district. One block to the north/east is a pedestrian only street (Rambla del Poblenou) which has many inexpensive restaurants, grocery stores, a pharmacy and electronics store. While locals don't speak much English, made out just fine without speaking any Catalan or Spanish. Most restaurants provided menus in English, and the local restaurants appreciated our business. 5-10 minute walk along the Rambla del Poblenou gets you the nearest beach (Bogatel). If you wish you can walk the promenade to Barconleta beach (the city's main beach) in about 20-30 minutes. Alternatively, about a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the subway which will get you downtown in about 10 minutes. Overall, hotel was good value for money (about 110 Euro per night at end of September 2010)

The hotel is of very good quality with modern style. Downtown is within close distance by metro, but if you don't mind taking a longer walk (~1 hour), it is accessible on foot, too. The beach is 10 min walk which is really convenient. We had problems with finding a car rental and one of the receptionists was not really of help in solving this, although all the other receptionists we met were nice and helpful. All in all, great value for money.

It is a really well designed high quality hotel with spacious rooms and public areas. Hotel is in a very strange neighbourhood, it's left side is like an industrial, ugly are but it's right side is totally different and very attractive, always cosy. You can find everything you need. Nice breakfast, shopping, so many banks etc. Please note that hotel is not 50 meters away from the metro, lets say it is 200 meters. I wish the price would include the breakfast.

Worderful hotel in a wonderful city. I'll come back
