The location of this hotel was perfect for sightseeing and getting around the city. However we chose it because it is a 4 star and we had certain expectations. It is definitely not 4 star standard and we were therefore very disappointed. It is warm and welcoming on arrival and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. However the rooms are small, Ill-equipped and sparse to say the least. I had requested a superior room as we were celebrating a special occasion but, on arrival, were given a very dismal, less than ordinary room which looked onto the back of an appartment block completely covered with laundry hanging from windows and at very close proximity. I asked to be moved to a better room and was told this was 'one of their best'. We were moved to a different room which was exactly the same. with frosted windows to hide the view and therefore no natural light. The room was badly lit and the walls were paper thin so we could hear absolutely everything that was going on around us. Added to this the heating didn't work and the room was very cold - we asked for extra blankets for the bed but had to keep going out for hot drinks to keep warm. There is no bar in the hotel and the mini bar only has water in it (free). The rooms have very limited storage space and there was nowhere to sit down so we only went into the room to go to bed. There is no room service (apart from a menu for a takeaway pizza restaurant) and there is only a hand-held shower over the bath. The hotel is generally very clean but we did see a number of silverfish scuttling around in the room and the bathroom. Very difficult to see where they got their 4 stars from! Despite this (massive) disappointment Barcelona is a great city and we were able to get around easily from the hotel's location.

Hi four of us stayed at the hotel Confortel Almiraante, it was our first time in Barcelona, The hotel was as described close to all sights. The staff were friendly and very helpfull. We had two rooms one at the front of the hotel, which was great for watching the hustle and bustle of Barcelona, from this room we could just see the top of the cathedral. The other at the back which did not have a view but was very quiet.The rooms were clean and spacious enough for our stay. We are planning to return to Barcelona next year, and will stay at the hotel Confortel Almirante.

Very nice and very clean hotel. Friendly and service minded staff. Even big smiles from cleaning staff.. Great location!!

There is only one important facility we didn´t appreciate. We asked for a extra mattress, the bed was very hard and to sleep on their side on a hard mattress is impossible. 10 % of human beings are sleeping on their side.

Good quality for the price,perfectly situated for the tourist and businessman,front office staff could be more helpful to the traveller in terms of pionting out the sights and things to do.I will not hesitate for one moment to go back to this hotel.

The interior design of the bedroom and bathroom is fantastic but the size is quite irregular. We were also about to be charged an additional person for my one-year old granddaughter (which is not supposed to be), but upon insistence, we were given the triple rooms we reserved through venere.com. The towels did not smell fresh also. But the toiletries provided were good.

Location of hotel was excellent for la ramblas and the gothic quarter. And the tour bus stops directly outside the hotel and as its an all day hop on hop off tour it was great for getting around the city 20 euro all day. The hotel is beautiful.

The location of the hotel was perfect. We made a short trip to Barcelona and we were directly in the center, as it was described by venere.com. Rooms were nice & clean!

great location, just across the street and you are in front of the great Katedral.. 2 minutes away from the center of La Rambla and Placa Catalunya... strongly recommend this hotel because of its superb location... Ertugrul. Turkiye.

The room is very large. but the rest of the Hotel is non adeguate to the price

Rooms are quite noisy no matter if front or backyard. I had expected a better standard for the price requested.

This hotel is very centrally situated being only a couple of minutes walk from the Gothic cathedral and Las Ramblas. We were on the top floor with a room to the rear of the hotel and experienced no traffic noise on which is a very busy thoroughfare. However the soundproofing between bedrooms could have been a little better. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful and very efficient. We enjoyed our stay and would go back again.

The staff was always extremely helpful and courteous. The room was nice, clean, and spacious. It was nice to be able to take a nice, luxurious bath and have a large towel, too. If you like a firm mattress as I do, this is your paradise! Although I felt we paid more for the location of the hotel (within walking distance of Barri Gottic than its glitz, I would recommend it to others.

Excellent stay first class location and service. Do not change your money at Maccorp Exact Change , S.A. Avda De La Catederal , 1 Barcelona. or other branches ?? Other than that BARCELONA is first rate . We hope to re book for September 2003

This hotel was wonderful except for two things. First, even though I booked within a month of arrival, they were doing construction at the Guitart in the Barri Gotti, where I wanted to stay. They told us about the construction upon arrival and arranged for a cab to take us to the other hotel across town. The saving grace was that the rooms were wonderful and it was right near a good bus connection. Only letdown was that I had wanted to stay in the thick of things in the Gothic Quarter. Also, as I was drying off after a shower, I noticed a brown smudge on my freshly placed towel. Not the way to start the morning. I would stay here again but I would definitely check the towels first!
