Hotel Catalonia Plaza Cataluña - Barcelona

Excellent Location, very good value for money. However receptionists are rather cold. Parking costs 42 euros per day or 84 euros for a week at the public carpark in front of the hotel.

A twin room was available instead of a double room, so we had to move the two beds to "create" a big one. The other things were all ok. Breakfast was not included and very expensive (17 euros per person).

The location is just perfect!! It makes everything else less important (like poor sound isolation between rooms). At arrival appeared that our reservation was cancelled by mistake, but it took just a few minutes to fix the misunderstanding. Breakfast is pretty pricy (16 euros), but there are enough good places around to eat. Nice decoration, old stylish building, reasonably comfortable rooms.

Stayed in Barcelona for 6 nights. This hotel was a perfect location. It was within walking distance of many of the areas to visit.. Las Ramblas,E'xample, Barri Gothic,Ribera, Born, Raval. In addition, the Metro was right outside the door, areas to sit have a morning coffee and snack, atm's, etc. We were upgraaded to a suite and when we had trouble with our air conditioning they responding immediately. Great rooftop pool to have a late afternoon dip after a long day of sightseeing.

POSITIVO: Posizione eccellente. Sulla plaza catalunia, dove c'è lo snodo di più metro. A 1 minuto dalle ramblas. Molti bar nei dintorni per la colazione. Camera con meraviglioso terrazzino. NEGATIVO: la pulizia della camera assolutamente non adeguata ad un 4*. Lenzuola non cambiate, polvere, pulizia bagno mediocre. Basterebbe poco per renderlo un hotel ottimo per la categoria. Lo consiglio comunque.

For the price offered by venere.com it was Ok. I would not pay more. The photos look slightly better, the furnishings date to the 80s. The rooms and bathrooms, however, are very spacious. Breakfast was really marvelous (it costs additional 15 euros per person). The hotel is really very close to all the sights, we did everything on foot. We took the underground only one time to visit Park Guell. Our room was very quite (the window was on the inside part of the building). One thing which really disturbed us during our 2-nights stay is the fact that both of us being non-smokers we were given a smoking room. The tobacco smell was terrible and seemed to be everywhere: the bed, the pillows, the walls. I am very sensible to tobacco, so the two nights spent in the smoking room were not very pleasant ones, each time woke up with a headache. Nobody asked what room we preferred. When I asked hotel receptionist if they had non-smoking rooms, they said they had, but only the rooms with separate beds and giving on the street. As the facade part of the hotel was on reconstruction, we decided to suffer one more night in the same room. Hope the hotel will care a bit more of their non-smoking customers. For those not disturbed by this fact it could be quite a pleasant stay.

Well located. Nice atmosphere. Although the room (518) was relatively small it had a big balcony and I was entirely satisfied. It's a lovely, traditional building and the pool was a real bonus. Would recommend and would return.

The hotel was very well located for all tourist services and attractions in central Barcelona. Staff were particularly warm, friendly and helpful.

Not a welcome or friendly atmosphere upon entry to the hotel. We were treated like we should have spoke the language more than we did and they did not accommodate our English. When asked for tips on the area we were treated as though we were inconveniencing the staff. Hotel was nice but staff left us cold and wanting.

I trusted the recommandation of the guide Michelin (which usualy is very good) and was very desapointed. Not only a lot of noice with toilets of the neighbours but also the stinking smell of it!!! Rooms very small. Not worth a 4 star hotel! To expensive for what it was.

We didn't actually end up staying at this hotel, as they had overbooked (intentionally, in our opinion, as their sister hotel had just opened across the road!). But the stay was pleasant, and we would stay there again, but I imagine the prices would be A LOT higher! The new hotel's name is Catalonia Ramblas and its about 2mins from Las Ramblas. It has a pool, AMAZING decor, and a large breakfast selection.

L'hotel si trova in u ottima posizione,da dove potrete girare la città senza problemi.Piccola la piscina (e comunque l'acqua era sempre fredda.)

Very good location and very good value. It was my first stay in Barcelona and I did not use the metro everything was in walking distance. The staff at the desk during the day was not very hepfull busy busy for a 4 stars hotel

Location of this hotel is very good. It is clean and staff are very welcoming. The only slight reservation was that any cooked breakfast was a little cold.

Very central hotel excellent

Good location. Spacious room compared to many other hotels I stayed. Staff speak english. Given the price, I recommend this hotel.

A very nice stay on a perfect location

The staff of the hotel we found to be extremely helpful at all times of the day. As to location, it was perfect for our desires being right in the middle of points of interest. They made our stay there a very pleasant one.

The hotel was good enough and at a very nice location, 50 meters from the Plaza Catalunya. The room at the back side of the hotel was quiet. I do not know how noisy the rooms at the front side would be, but the street is rather quiet. Your website was not explicit about whether breakfast was included in the price, but it appeared not to be. Breakfast is luxurious enough, but at a price; for those who prefer a cheaper and simpler alternative, there are lots of opportunities nearby around the Ramblas.

This hotel is indeed just a step away from Catalunya and The Ramblas, but hardly meets the 4* level it has. Nevertheless, quite affordable and a good ratio price/quality/quietness. Bad point for photographs because of the pool which can be crossed in one stroke...

Friendly and efficient staff. Noisy building works in adjacent property dealt with in a timely manner. Very convenient for central Barcelona and La Rambla

Este es un hotel muy conveniente en términos de precio y servicio. La habitación que ocupé no era muy espaciosa, pero sí limpia y funcional. La ubicación del hotel es bastante buena ya que está a pocos pasos de la plaza Catalunya y de una estación del subterráneo. No está en el centro de las atracciones pero sí al borde de ellas. Si los vecinos de habitación no son cuidadosos, podrán despertarlo con un susto al cerrar la puerta del baño o de la habitación.

Lovely hotel, nice decor, spaceous room & perfect central location. Staff v v friendly and helpful. They also helped us find & book a superb paella restaurant. Only criticism was the noise - one night we were kept awake by neighbours' TV and a were woken up early by cleaners in corridor. Overall however, a lovely hotel.
