Hotel Catalonia Diagonal Centro - Barcelona

The room was reasonably clean (this is why I gave 7) but the state of the room was painful: the furniture was damaged in the lower parts (as if had been in the water for some time), the toilet was shaky, the refrigerator did not work (the content was not cold), the hand washing tub was broken. A disaster. I heve been in the same hotel in the past and I did not have the same impression. I think the hotel is decaying and they do not have the resources to maintain it. Not worth 4 stars (and 150 euros per night - breakfast not included!)

This hotel obviously lives on its reputation and does not match a 4 star standard and it is dangerously aging. The staff is quite relaxed to say the least : the receptionnist is not stopping a private discussion when you arrive; she is chewing and continues to chat with her colleagues while serving you. However the taxi booking we asked for was there on time so the service is there, not the style ! Otherwise it is a very well located hotel and overall an excellent value compared to 3 star hotels closer to the old center.

The boys at the reception always were nice and kind. The position of the hotel was strategic. Near the hotel we found some beautiful places to have a good breakfast. We hope to come back in this hotel next time we'll come to barcellona

Qualche problemino con lo scarico e le coperte erano bucate dalle sigarette, ma tutto sommato non male, sia come posizione che come rapporto qualità prezzo

Ottimo hotel per visitare Barcellona, vicinissimo a Plaça de Catalunya, al Paseo de Gracia ed alla fermata metro Diagonal. Camere e bagno spaziosi, sufficientemente puliti. E' un albergo che avrebbe necessità di una ristrutturazione modernizzante, lo stile è anni 70/80. Buona accoglienza, hanno richiesto il mio numero di carta di credito come garanzia. Ottimo il prezzo.

L'accueil était tout à fait agréable, arrivé tard, un personnel faisant "l'effort" de parler français. Chambre de taille réduite, bien agencée mais surtout pas de télévision, en panne, lavabo ne s'écoulant pas (pratique surtout pour se raser!!) et propreté laissant vraiment à désirer, notamment dans la salle de bain... Très pénible pour un 4*. Le lendemain, on vous annonce que ce n'est pas très grave... et ostensiblement ne faisant aucun effort de compréhension ni aucune excuse! mais plutôt se "foutant" de nous auprès de ses collègues en espagnol. Très désagréable.

I think overall, the rooms are very nice, and areas are within walking distance such as Plaça Catalunya. Internet connectivity is too expensive, 25 euros a day.

The room was clean and in good condition. Location isn't bad either. Information given on the webpage corresponded surprisingly well the actuality, except that breakfast costs 15€. Would recommend as long as price per night is around 100€, not if it is more.

All'arrivo all'hotella prenotazione VENERE non c'era???!?!?!?!?!??!!?!? tuttavia sono stati gentilissimi a trovare una sistemazione di pari grado (forse perchè avevan qualche colpa??) in ogni caso tutto benissimo: personale gentilissimo ottima pulizia ottima dislocazione ottimo rapporto qualita'/prezzo lo consiglio

Posizione veramente eccezionale. Il servizio è molto cortese, le stanze sono pulite ma il servizio di cambio biancheria lascia un po' a desiderare. Comunque lo consiglierei.

El hotel está en Balmes, una zona muy bien situada cerca de Passeig de Gràcia y a unos 15minutos paseando de Plaza Cataluña. Hay también locales nocturnos y la zona es muy segura tanto de dia como de noche.
