exterior Hotel Catalonia Barcelona Plaza exterior Opened in 1993, the Catalonia Barcelona Plaza Hotel is ideally located in the Plaza España, the best professional area of Barcelona. With La Fira de Barcelona and Palau de Congressos de Barcelona only a short distance away, it is an ideal hotel for business and leisure clients as it has good travel connections with the main tourist areas and city centre. You will find the famous Montjuich mountain within walking distance together with the singular Poble Espanyol and Palau Nacional which houses the National Art Museum of Catalonia. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel to take you directly to El Prat airport. The hotel is managed by a great team of professionals dedicated to your well-being and has plenty of facilities. Clients are able to enjoy the finest delicatessen at the “Gourmet Plaza” restaurant, have a delicious coffee at the Cafeteria “La Oca” or taste the delicious cocktails in the “Piano Bar”. Consisting of 347 rooms, 9 of which are suites, they are well equipped with all the comfort that a superior class hotel has to offer. The hotel also provides 9 different event rooms for meetings, conventions, congresses, banquets etc, with a maximum capacity for 700 people. the best days of this hotel are long gone! it is rated by many sites as 4 *, but it is definitely not. the roof top pool could not be used. it was not heated and the covering over part of it to make it an "indoor pool" had blown away. the area was generally in a poor state! wifi in the hotel was very expensive and it was also expensive to use the safe in the room with a rate per day. also, there was no free internet access even in the lobby - I had to use a credit card, and the euros accumulated really fast while using 1 of the 2 PCs available. really not 4*!! rooms were clean and nice, although beds were rock hard.

What I really disliked in this hotel is that I choose it because it was supposed to have a Sauna, but the Sauna was closed (due to work in progress). No sign was mentionning this at the reception, and the hotel staff were not willing to do anything more then saying they were sorry for what seemed to me like a major drawback. I filled out a claim form for the hotel director but didn't get any feedback yet. Otherwise the hotel is ok for a business trip if you need to stay in that area of Barcelona, but the surrounding are rather uninteresting and there are very few restaurants. However there is direct access to the subway.

Very efficient, clean and modern, good location for airport bus and metro and a surprisingly nice view. Open air pool on the roof a great bonus. Staff very friendly and helpful.

excellent location. The metro is just outside the door of the hotel, with taxis always available, so everywhere is accessible. The website did lead me to believe that the hotel had two pools, an indoor and an outdoor; not true! they put a roof on the outdoor one. Also it's dangerous unless you're a strong swimmer. No safety rails or gradual slope, and no life guard on duty. otherwise though, a great place in terms of its ability to give you quality access to the rest of Barcelona.

Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. In this case, the total amount of your stay will be charged to your credit card by the hotel at the time of booking.

Breakfast is not included in the price and costs €16,00 (VAT included) per person.

CANCELLATION POLICY
