We booked two rooms, both clean and nicely presented. One at the front of the hotel had great views and a large balcony but was above a noisy traffic junction. The other at the back of the hotel had OK views, a smaller balcony but was much quieter. We really enjoyed the stay. The local bars are a great option for breakfast.

Very good hotel for some one who wants to see historical city and does shoping during afternoon, enjoys life in Eixample during night and sleep during morning. Singe rooms are very small (for sleeping is OK) and with a good bathroom. All prices are showed without VAT! Miss hotel breakfast - price EURO 12 +VAT doesn´t correspond a quality (you receive 3 courses lunch in the centre in the same price or next to hotel in 2/3 price).

The Host offered to call a taxi for us to take us too the train station, we knew we would be charged for baggage, but a 5 euros were added on for being picked up outside the hotel - we even had to walk to the other side of the road, so could have picked up a taxi on our own anyway, so for a ride that would have cost us 5 euro, it actaully cost 14 euro. I think we were ripped off by the hotel not telling that an extra charge will b encluded.

Overall we had a very positive experience at the Caledonian. It was close to everything and has a Metro station a short walk away. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit inconsistent and seemed to depend on what time you got there! But we'd definitely go back.

A convienient, well-kept, friendly hotel. If you can get a room with a balcony, it is even better!
