La zona circostante all'albergo è molto tranquilla.

This hotel offers great value and was very clean. I was really happy with the service and the room. I had a nice small balcony and the room was pretty quiet. It was very simple but great for what I needed. Hotel location is close to a few restaurants, bars, grocery stores and metro (5-10 minute walk). I would definitely recommend it for other single travellers and any other type of traveller (single or not).

A pleasant place to stay, especially if space is considered. The shape of the room we had was kind of weird as its very long and kind of narrow, but there's certainly lots of space! Location was not very clearly marked, so it took us a while to find. Once there though, we were very relaxed and content. You have 2 different lines of metros for you to choose from, and going into town was only a matter of 10 minutes. Staff was friendly and helpful. It is located in a residential area, so a few nice cafe but restaurant choices are rather limited. Having a kitchen was also nice, and we happily cooked one meal and one breakfast there. There's also a handy supermarket nearby as well as 2 fresh fruits/vege stores. Definitely value for money, and I won't hesitate to stay there again.

The hotel is not in the central aerea but well connected (15 minutes by metro, a bet more by bus). Parking in the street is very difficult and expensive, so you have either to use the garage of the hotel (15 euros/24h, discounted to 50 euros for 5 days), or to find a free parking zone (Zona Universitaria is OK) but make sure you do not live anything inside the car. The surroundings of the hotel are just ordinary and without restaurants; happily a small supermarket is very close and always open. Hotel Bertran is still a real bargain in Barcelona with an exceptionnal relationship between price/quality : 55 euros/night for a large room with bathroom, kitchenette and balcony.

We had a very nice stay here. We stayed in a quadrupal room that had one queen bed and two twin beds. It has a balcony, but the balcony is taken up by the air conditioning unit so we were not able to use it. The room overlooked the street and was a little noisy, but it did not disrupt our sleep. The staff was very helpfull and spoke english well. We were very happy with our stay and will probably stay again should the need arise.

We stayed in a room for four persons (Parents and two adolescents). It was clean and comfortable. The quality of service was excellent. The employees helped us in every require with amability and efficiency. Even though the hotel is small it had available internet almost free, gym,and a pool. They helped with theater information, offered to make reservations, any thing we asked for. The surroundings were quiet, with local people in bars and cafés. Near Parc Guell and near the metro stations. Very nice our stay.

Traveling with husband for a short break to Barcelona. Hotel was very welcoming, we booked a double room but were then given a twin, receptionist was very willing for us to have keys to another room to choose which we wanted. We chose double room on front of hotel which was a bit noisier, but I liked to watch the world go by. Facilities were fairly basic but perfect for a short break, with nice touches like washing up liquid provided. The cleanliness was very good and it was lovely to have the self catering facilities but also have someone come in to make the bed and clean round. We did have a problem with excessive heat until we realised that we could fully control it with the air conditioning. The receptionists were friendly and offered advise above and beyond the call of duty, particularly the initial one who spoke fluent English & had even visited our home town in England. We expected to have a safe in our room but instead it was in reception with just a small deposit for the key, this worked very well & seemed very safe. The whole stay was excellent & I would definately stay there again & recommend it to others.

My first time in Barcelona. Very welcoming. Room was very dated and had a funny smell which turned me off at the beginning. But this was more than offset by the size of the room and the friendliness of the staff. Breakfast delivered to the room, with great cafe au lait was a nice touch (though the croissants got a bit monotonous). Very quiet and well located close to a Metro so I could easily get where I wanted. All in all, excellent value for the price.

While the hotel was generally OK and the price right for the quality of room and services, the main problem was the noise from inside the hotel. I think I was probably unlucky, but the first night the person in the room next door had, what I worked out later, was probably a call girl, who wore high healed shoes and woke me first at 2am by dancing in the room next door on the tiled floors. Unable to sleep I eventually complained to the front desk at 3.45am, and they called the person and asked if they could be quiet. While their intervention helped, I could still hear the people. The next night I asked if they would change my room, which they did. Again, I was unlucky with three guys partying until 1am in the room next door. I am not a party pooper, but I have to make the point that the sound proofing between rooms is not that good. So, overall, the hotel is OK, but noisy.

The hotel is out of the central town (Tibidabo area) but in a residential location with a little street noise in the morning. There is a 5 minute walk to a Metro station, Tibidabo, which will take you to the begining of Las Ramblas, (Catalunya stop) close to the old town. Both stations are begining/end of the line stops. The entire Metro ride will take no more than 10 minutes. The Staff was very helpful and polite. All of those I encountered spoke English. Breakfast was substantial and served to our room. The hotel is older but I found it to be clean and spacious for our family of four. There were not many restaurants in the area but the one the staff recommended was outstanding...La Madeline.

A stay at this hotel is definitely recommended if you want an economically priced room (especially for four people in a room) that is fairly convenient to the cruise port, downtown and airport. It is also supposed to be really close to the train, though we took taxis. There is a pastry shop right next door (no coffee) and a grocery about a block away that is convenient since there is a kitchenette in the room.

The Hotel Apartment room was adequate although cooking facilities are very minimal - no grill and the kitchen is poorly equipped. Television reception was bad. Terrace was a tiny box and the swimming pool is bath sized and closed some of the time. On the plus side, metro facilities into the city are good and the surrounding shops have everything you need for food.

This is an excellent hotel. It is the first time I have stayed at an aparthotel and I was very impressed by the level of fittings provided. Although we were on a b&b booking it was great to know that we had the facilities to entertain and to self cater. Easy access to the centre and helpful staff made for an excellent break. We were given a recommendation for a nearby restaurant- MOLINA Bar Restaurant- and I cannot rate this highly enough. A simple family run business with excellent quality food and service all at very good value. Don't miss it! and if you go say hello to Oscar the waiter and son of the owner, a great help in translating1

I was in Hotel Bertran nearly 4 weeks and it was a bit like at home. Very spacious room with kitchenette and with patio to the rear. Very kind reception. The only thing which made me a bit crazy sometimes were the neighbours who took shower at 1 to 3 am. The walls are very thin. Nevertheless next time I would like to stay there again. From Av. Tibidabo it's only 6 stations to Plaza Cataluna with L7, and that's very close to the City Centre.

The room we stayed in were spacious and comfortable; however, we had single beds and they were very small. The closest subway station is 10 minute walk from the hotel which is not bad and there was a small supermarket that saved our lives in one of the nights we stayed there (we were starving to death). Employees are nice and helpful but hotel surroundings are ugly and extremely quite at nights

Danny, front desk employee, very helpful, speaks english, friendly, made our stay enjoyable and awesome. Great location - Tibidabo metro stop within 5 minutes. Hop on the metro and be at the La Rambles in 10 minutes. Consum market nearby 5 minute walk. Get your bottle water there. Fresh fruit stand close by too. It may be not as fancy as a 4 star hotel but it has a stove, full refrigerator, a/c, quiet location and roomy. Price is just right for a stay in Barcelona

The hotel itself is quite comfortable and the in-room breakfast was always on time and fresh. Public transportation is only a few city blocks away and it will take you to all the major sites you may want to visit in Barcelona. There is a lot of construction going on in the immediate area of the hotel, however once inside the hotel there is no disturbing noise to be heard. The staff is quite friendly, very helpful and can speak a multitude of languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish, German to name some) making communication quite easy. We enjoyed our stay very much and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Room was pretty basic, but adequate for our needs. Beds comfortable, staff EXTREMELY helpful, continental breakfast delivered to the room. Our arrival at Hotel Bertran was at the end of a 2 week visit to Europe. We were very hot and tired, and were elated to see the clean, spacious and comfy room, with a Full Bed and 2 twins. We had made an error in our booking, and were supposed to arrive the next day!, but no problem - we were accomodated with a smile. This hotel is perfect for families, as there are cooking facilities, a frig and a dining table, which we made great use of. Grocery stores and markets are a short walk away (5-10 min). The room was spacious and designed to provide privacy between sleeping areas. Hotel Bertran is located just a couple of blocks from the 'Ave. Tibidabo' Metro stop, which runs centrally through Barcelona, crossing most other lines. We walked to Park Guell, and the neighborhood feels residential and safe. The rooftop pool is 'very' small (hotel picture is deceiving), but we played in it almost every day. You just have to take turns with other guests. Pool towels are provided. Overall, this was a delightful stop for us, and a great way to end the trip! Highly recommended.

My hotel room 208 was really big. 2 separate beds I had to put them close toghether. to get to the ramblas you gotta walk 5 min then take the metro at valcarca station and from there is 10 min train ride. really close to mount Tibidabo breakfast is served to you in your room if you chose that option for 10 euros a day for 2 people and they bring you rich basket of mini muffins and pastries...if you ask for extra you can have cereals ham and chese...but is not worth the cost of the add on.

The hotel room was clean but the room we had at the front of the hotel was very noisy at night. However there was no problem about changing it for a room a similar room at the back which proved to be very quiet. This location is ideal for families or others seeking a quieter, less busy location to set up camp. There are several markets nearby where you can get supplies to use in the apartment's kitchen area. The closest Metro / train stop is about 5 minutes away, an easy walk, and the "Bus Turistic" has a stop at the same location. Also, Bertran is near the foot of the Tramvia Blau, the streetcar used to get to the funicular that accesses Tibidabo, the mountain-top amusement park. Parc Guell is about 20 minutes to the easy - a hilly but simple walk, with ample reward. The staff at Bertan were welcoming and helpful. The pool is very small but still refreshing, and the rooftop terrace where the pool is also serves as a great place to unwind, day or night. The breakfast, if you choose it, is enormous; we were never able to eat all of the baked goods that arrived each day. The beds seemed new or nearly new, and were firm and comfortable. The bathroom was large, but lacks places to hang towels.

Excellent self-catering large room for the price of a normal hotel room. Kitchen and equipment very good. Remember to ask for 'matrimonial' bed if you want it made up as a proper double (with double sheets/duvet/doona). Nice balcony which we didn't have time to use in 3 days/nights of sightseeing. Easy short drive from airport on good roads avoiding the city. Location is fine for Metro trips to anywhere in the city, and has good local food/bread shops - although not a very attractive area. It was however quiet at night (no rowdy bars/clubs/street parties nearby). Staff were very friendly and helpful in suggestions for directions and sightseeing. Parking was at the hotel, for an extra charge (Euro 13 per day) as expected, and convenient - although we did not use the car during our stay - preferring to use the cheap and effective Metro (plus lots of walking) to everywhere. The rooftop pool looked nice and clean, and the entire hotel was well kept. A nice local walk (uphill via outdoor escalators!) to Gaudi's Park Guell was well worth the time an effort. We would certainly recommend this hotel particularly for anyone staying more than one or two nights.

In planning my trip I read many reviews on this site and was dismayed by the negative comments about many of the receptionists. Those at Hotel Bertran were exceptional. They answered my pre-trip emails promptly offering additional advice about finding the property and confirming the availability of twin and non-smoking rooms. When we arrived they were friendly, helpful, efficient and courteous, spoke excellent English and quickly settled us into our room. The included breakfast was ample with the option of extras if required. We received accurate advice about transport systems and although the hotel was not within walking distance of the main tourist attractions it was within easy reach of the cheap and efficient metro and tourist bus. The room was laid out to allow one person to sleep and another to use the lounge area without disturbing one another. I would recommend the property for anyone prefering a degree of independance rather than the pampering of a hotel with the additional benefits of a kitchenette and space.

We trusted reviews submitted by other readers when booking this room for our one night stay in Barcelona. We HIGHLY recommend Hotel Bertran. Not only did we have a kitchen, sitting area and dinette but we also had a private patio where we toasted our good fortune! One tip: when arriving from the airport on the bus, be certain you know exactly how and EXACTLY WHERE to make your connection to the Tibidabo metro station BEFORE you are burdened with luggage. Once we understood the system, traveling to and from the hotel was a cinch. Enjoy!

This property was everything we expected and more. When we arrived the manager offered us a more spacious apartment in the building next door at no additional charge. The entire staff was very friendly and accomodating. The location is 5 metro stops from Catalunya, the Vallcarca station about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. There is also a stop of the HOHO bus within a 10 minute walk. It is a quiet, safe neighborhood with pastry shops and food markets within 2 blocks. In-room wireless internet access is available for a reasonable charge. There was not a very good pot for making coffee. I would book with this property again if I return to Barcelona.

Good hotel, even if a bit difficult to find. The best option is to get to the metro station Catalunya first, and then take line 7 to Tibidabo. When you reach the street level, turn right, cross the street, walk straight ahead, turn right again at the Carrer de Lucá, and then right again at the Carrer de Bertrán. It's a five minute's walk. The only complaint I have is regarding the (lacking) quietness of the room. Very early on Saturday morning a group of girls (probably American teenagers) burst into the hotel, shouting and screaming without regard for other guests. The noise went on for quite a while - very easily right through the walls. Annoying indeed. Otherwise, the hotel is fine, and I would go there again. The distance from the city centre is not a big problem.

I didn't have any real concept about how far out from the centre the hotel was located but in the end it wasn't an isssue as the trains/underground were frequent, reasonably priced and spotlessly clean. If you want something in the middle of the action don't use this hotel but as I had a limited budget this more than fit the bill. As a general comment I loved Barcelona - and am intending returning again this year with a friend.

As usual with venere the nmaps and directions are hopeless, and you have to ask your way. The street is unimpressive, a back street, but quiet and convenient for shops and cafes, but no real restaurants nearby. The train to the centre is excellent, makes all the difference, and thye blue tram and funicular up the hill is a pleasant surprise. Well equipped appartment, very quiet on the back - the terraces are on tghe street side and not very interesting. Very discreet service and they know your name.

Great location if you don't want to have to walk out of the hotel and into a wall of traffic. Access to transport, excellent, and also to parks, eg Guell, but a bit sparse on locating dining options so plan and eat elsewhere before stretching your legs and walking back up the hill or catching train. The website is a little misleading in locating the Hotel on the map. Tibidabo is the local station, with others nearby. Front desk staff are very helpful, more so than the Tourist office personel.

Large appartment-room with kitchen corner, everything fine, but my room (1st floor, street side) was unexpectedly very noisy. The small Calle Bertrán is in fact a kind of shortcut through road, where cars and motorcycles rush up the slope in low gear. ==> Be sure to ask for a back-side room.

Three of us (parents and 17-year-old son)stayed in two rooms. Our overall impression of the hotel was that it was excellent for our needs, and we would be very happy to recommend it to friends. Given Barcelona's excellent public transport, the location, a bit away from the Centre, was no disadvantage and, for us, had some advantages. The size of the rooms is generous. All the staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was very adequate and punctual. The high score we have given for quietness refers to the 4th floor room. The 2nd floor room was, I understand, quite a bit noisier with considerable sound levels penetrating from neighbouring rooms and footsteps from the floor above.

The room was overall pretty clean. The bathroom was a bit old but was clean. The refridgerator and stove were convenient for us. We were overlooking the street which meant it was very loud. It was difficult for my wife to sleep but I slept fine. They bring breakfast to your room which was nice - pastries, bread, and beverage. They do have a computer for internet access for a fee. It is far from the main tourist area but the subway is about 7 minutes walk and the ride to the main part of town is not too long. The location seemed safe. The latest we were out was midnight and I did not see anything concerning.

Hotel was very nice for the price. The hotel staff was excellent and provided detail directions for places to see and eat. The area around the hotel is not the best for finding good eating establishments, but the metro is very close. The rooms are on the small size compared to USA standards, but adequate. The breakfast was on time and very filling. I recommend this hotel to anyone that doesn't mind being a little out of downtown.

Exellent hotel, and very friendly staff. The area is not far a way from the city centre, very nice clean hotel. I will definately come back to the same hotel if I decided again to visit Barcelona.

I was originally going to stay just one night at this hotel and ended up staying 5 nights. The staff was absolutely wonderful in every way. The rooms are very spacious and have a small kitchenette in each. I was in one room which had a large terrace on the first floor. The walls in this room were a little tired and could use some paint, but otherwise it was perfect. I then switched to a somewhat smaller room on the 3rd floor and it was equally nice and spacious. If you have a noisy neighbor the sound does travel from room to room, but I've found that to be the case in every hotel I've stayed in Europe. This hotel is also very close to the metro, an approximate 5 minute walk and Fargo is right around the corner. It's a bit expensive, but the pastries and other food is wonderful.
