We stayed only one night in a twin bedded room, and found the staff to be very helpfull the room clean and comfortable. The kitchenette was a bit small for a lenghty stay but was well equiped. And I would definately use them again.

The hotel was in a pretty quiet neighborhood. It was a little far from some of the places we wanted to see, but a metro stop is about one block down the street and you can still walk to a number of sites and good restaurants. The room was much larger than we expected. It also came with a kitchenette. There is a supermarket next door to the hotel so it is very convenient if you want to stay in and cook or buy some things to keep in the fridge. We got in very late at night because our flight was delayed, but they had a 24 hour reception desk so we were able to check-in easily. The building and rooms are a little outdated, but clean. Our shower head came off when we first turned it on. The hotel sent up someone to repair it the next morning. The hotel also offers free luggage storage in a locked room, which is very convenient. Make sure you check out in time. We got a late start the morning of check out and they called us 10 minutes after check out time asking for the room. Overall a very nice place to stay for the price.

This is a well located hotel with grocery stores right next door. If you need to make a long distance call go to the internet store around the corner. DO NOT USE THE HOTEL PHONE. They are very good at knowing the area and are very helpful. The kitchens are lacking in pots and pans and utensils. There was one pot and a frying pan. You need to be creative to cook. The breakfast is very good. Hope this helps you; enjoy your visit.

great deal! more than adequate room, nice and quiet. Further away from the center than I realized but still a pleasant neighborhood to return to after a craxy downtown experience. I wouldnt want to stay right in the middle of things Prices more reasonable in our neghborhood. Our friends were pick pocketed on the subway and the local police station is open 24 hrs........tons of people were there reporting these thefts..... our conclusion: with the massive amounts saved by staying here, why not take taxis?

Everything was very clean and nice in our room and at the hotel. The desk saff spoke english well however the cleaning staff did not. The breakfast was included and plentyful with staff on hand to replenish things. My two sisters and I stayed for 6 nights in a triple room which was supplied with more than enough shampoo and shower gel. They also included sponges, razors and toothbrushes but no face clothes. Your choice if you want new towels daily. The area was very safe even at night. There is a grocery store next door but not open on Sundays. The metro is 2 block away and ATM's are located in any direction from the hotel.

Great value for the money. Good breakfast. Located in residential area conveniently close to several key destinations and two blocks from the subway. Supermarket next door. Unfortunately noise carries over rather loudly from units above. We were woken up several times late at night by people walking around. Mostly Europeans including Spaniards, some with young children or teenagers, during our shoulder season stay.

Good location, away from the noisier areas of Barcelona, yet close enough to walk to nearly all of the main sights. Our party consisted of 3 people, but found the room although adequate for 2 people was very cramped for 3 people. We stayed 3 nights and the hotel provided a good base for our visit - nothing fancy, but good value for money.

I strongly suggest you this hotel, 'cause ALL is really excellent, location, room's spaciousness/cleanliness,competence of employees, breakfast quality.I've been in Barcelona with my son and his friend and we were astonished. Now I give you some "advice":if you want a superlative Paella go to El Rey de La Gamba Pg.Joao de Borbò 46. If you want a "All You can eat" self at € 8,50 go to Port Neu, back to the port 50 mt. in the street on right of the Rambla.ABSOLUTELY AVOID THE TAPAS BAR NEAR THE OPERA THEATRE ON CARRER ST. PAU 2,poor food,extra-expensive,desagreeable owner.Try the Sangria of "El Bosc de les Fades"-Mueseo de la Cera on the Rambla. ENJOY YOUR STAY!!!

This was a good 3* hotel in a good location near the subway. It was lovely to walk to many of the sights in the morning, and to take the subway home. Many cafes and restaurants near the hotel. Excellent location, very close to metro and bus stops. Supermarket next door. Clean, spacious rooms, comfy beds. Small but smart bathroom. Abundant breakfast buffet. Small kitchenette with some plates and cutlery. No microwave, no teatowel or detergent. Electric kettle would be welcome. We reserved the apartment for three, but we had to repeatedly ask for bedlinen and towels for the 3rd person. Once our room door (next to elevator) was left open by the maid. I must admit, nothing has disappeared from the room. Would stay here again.

The room we were given had a balcony, large sitting area and a great shower. The kitchen was ok with plates, glasses, cutlery, pots, hotplates and fridge etc but no kettle, teatowel or dishwash. Towels were changed daily. When you visit Barcelona make sure you go on the tourist bus as it is fantastic. You will need a 2 day pass to see it all. The Aparthotel Calabria was in an excellent location. I was able to grocery shop right on the same block, walk to many great restaurants, within 2 blocks of metro and felt safe in the area at all times of the day. The hotel staff were helpful and pleasant. They did take quite awhile to get my parents room ready when we arrived which was after the check in time stated. Otherwise, I would stay there again.

Great value for money at these apartments, they are huge and offer a good buffet breakfast. Reception staff were competent but not overly friendly. Location is a few metro stops away from the main attractions making it a great quite location to stay. Metro is cheap and reliable and runs till late at night so no problems moving around the city from this location. Would definately recommend it as it is rare to find such big rooms/apartments for this price in Europe.

We were very pleased with the aparthotel. It was a great value for the price. It was comfortable and two-three blocks walking from the metro. We took the Aerobus to Pl.Catalunya and the metro to Rocafort when we got there and took a taxi back to the airport. To catch the Aerobus, just walk outside the airport, bus stops are there & pay on the bus. You need euros. We felt safe in the neighborhood & on the metro. We would definitely stay at this place again and would recommend to anyone. The breakfast was included. Good selection of breads, baked goods, juices, and cereal. This is not a five star hotel, but if you are looking for clean, comfortable, convenient to the metro stay at a reasonable price, we highly recommend it. The beds & pillows aren't the greatest, but we were so tired at the end of the day, we all slept well. The internet was also free, which was a big deal for our 21 year old daughter. The front desk employees were always friendly & helpful everytime we asked for assistance. The pictures on Venere are representative.

A great aparthotel and a great stay. The room we got was nice, with a good balcony. When I´m traveling, I prefer to walk around the city than to watch TV, but I know a lot of people care about TV. So, it´s good to say you´ll find the smallest and oldest TV set ever. xxxxxx Um ótimo hotel.

The hotel's most valuable characteristic is LOCATION. Rocafort metro station is just a block and a half away; there's a VOIP calling cabin around the corner (international calls are really cheap), a laundry a block away, 2 supermarkets within 100 feet and a major traffic artery (Gran Via de Les Corts) within walking distance (really easy to catch a bus or a taxi). Plaza Espana is 1 metro stop away (ferrocarrils de la Generalitat); it's also a short ride to Sants Estacio if you need to ride long haul trains (Renfe). Location, location, location. Rooms would benefit from renovations, but that would increase the price; they're spacious, quiet and (at least mine) have natural ventilation (mine had a window overlooking the street). They also have a kitchen WITH a refrigerator. Breakfast is buffet and it's very complete. Free internet access (downside is there's only one PC but they also provide wi-fi if you bring your own). Bottom line is: These guys have a very good value for the money they charge (my wife and I paid 90 euros for a double room).

Nice hotel, not far from the metro station Rocaford (between 3 min and 5 min walking distance). The hotel room was very big more like a size of an apartment then a double room size. There was a kitchen in the room and several markets next door to the hotel, so it was also possible to prepare something by yourself for breakfast. The surroundings of the hotel were good and the stuff of the hotel was polite and spoke very good English. I recommend this hotel.

Good rapport quality/price. Decent size rooms, clean, no problems with noise. There's a double bed and a sofa which converts, ideal for families with small children. Kitchennete area, which we didn't use but again good to know. Small tub in bathroom + shower, lots of samples, so you can travel light. Excellent breakfast buffet. City centre is really very close - we walked into the centre in the morning and took the tube back, (only 3 stops) there's a station 2 minutes walk from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

Stayed here 13/9/07 for one night. Room 210. Paid 90 Euro prpn B&B. This was mainly an overnight stop while travelling from Ibiza to France rather than a visit to the city. The location is away from the centre and not near anything specific. But this makes it cheaper to stay at; anything comparable in the centre (eg La Rambla area) would be far more expensive. And public transport is efficient and easy to use, so the location is not a problem. This was an apartment, the room was spacious with good facilities and included a kitchen (which we did not use) and a lounge area within the room. The decor and furniture were rather dated, but still an appealing place to stay. Good air conditioning, good soundproofing from traffic noise. Breakfast starts at 7.30, we had to leave at 7.45 to catch a train. There was an extensive buffet, it was available at exactly 7.30, so we were able to have a quick breakfast in the time available. Barcelona is a pleasant city with several sights, but is very crowded with visitors - we prefer Valencia.

Stayed just before Christmas with my husband, our daughter and two grandchildren... found apartments to be excellent, only slight problem was hot water, the shower had to be run for over five minutes some mornings before hot water appeared, but other than that we had no problems, breakfast was plentiful, constantly restocked, and included something for everyone, you were made to feel very welcome.Metro access almost on doorstep was useful, it is within walking distance of the Ramblas and Montjuic but with the walking you will do in an average day a little help getting there and back is useful.Hubby and I had double apartment, and daughter stayed in a three bed apartment, both were clean comfortable and had a good selection of complimentry toiletries, two supermarkets next door to apartments made self catering easy if desired, also rooms had access to a fast food delivery service. We had a view over the side street, which was not stunning but fairly typical of Barcelona city hotels, daghters apartment overlooked supermarket carpark and overhung a flat roof, this was maybe quite thoughtful as we had a five year old in our party and it allowed the balcony to be used without worry. Would be happy to stay again.

We liked the family atmosphere specially. It was a big room with almost everything. Perhaps it would be much better with a pot to boil water in. We liked to have our first cup of tea/coffee in the room. The breakfast was marvelous. We were satisfied half the day with that breakfast. And we liked it was so near the city. Good communication too. And we liked the small restaurants in the surroundings. The cleaning of the room was good but why don´t you clean the balcony? Thank you for everything when we were confused.

We stayed in a triple room. It was at the back of the hotel, so it was very quiet. Closeness to the subway allowed for easy access to all parts of Barcelona. The wonderful breakfast was included in the price. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to those looking for large rooms.

Nice Hotel with good quality/price. Close to metro station "Rocafort" and just 15/20 minutes walk from Plaza Catalunya. Room was clean and quite big for one single traveller. I recommend it for sure: you can cook by yourself instead of wasting lots of money in the typical "tourist" restaurant. P.S. Supermarket is next to the hotel!

Very good value for money. The rooms are micro-apartments with a kitchen, which makes them very practical. Toilets a bit Spartan, but overall good. English style breakfast included, could serve as the main meal..B-). Two blocks from a Metro station, close (LONG walk or SHORT bus ride) to Sants and Plaza de Espanya Railway Stations as well. Overall, very good indeed...

I simply recommend this hotel... Clean, professional, great breakfast, great espresso, large rooms with oven, great neardowntown location - the subway is 2 or 3 streets from the hotel. We had just a little problem and that was fastly solved. PERFECT!

It was our first visit to Barcelona. We had a good room. It didn't have a good view but was very quiet. There was free access to internet. The location of the hotel was very near to a metro station (Rocafort) and also it was easy to walk to the city center in a short time. The buffet breakfast was also acceptably good and included in the price. We generally enjoyed the hotel.

Great position near metro stop "Rocafort" and just close to a supermarket. Useful supply of samples of toothpaste, soap foam and shaving cream which allow you (in case of short stays) not to bring such "forbidden" stuff on the plane.

Time in hotel was spoilt by builders on floor above, who were very noisy, drilling marble, and on scaffolds outside bathroom window from 9-6 each day. When complained to reception, the man on duty spoke very little English and was very rude about the situation. Other than this disruption the hotel was very clean, comfortable and within 5 mins of the metro station, though many places were within walking distance. Airport bus stop is, however, not 180m from hotel as stated on the webpage!

I was given a double bed in a service apartment with cooking facilities and a sitting room with a sofa. This is big enough for a small family.

This is the third time I have stayed in this hotel and I like it a lot - however I stayed there last year around this time and both then and this time there was work going on in the hotel which involved lots of hammering during the day. It seemed to begin at 9.30 each morning. This means that it is not possible to get a nap or maybe return to the room on a rainy day to relax and read etc etc. If work is being carried out guests should be warned in advance. I complained about the noise and I did not feel the receptionist was at all receptive. Surely Venere should have a policy that any hotel which intends to carry out work during the day should be required to notify guests in advance?

Good apartment for the price, especially with basic kitchen. not a scenic street but somewhere to stay. staff very helpful. supermarket next door. metro only a short walk then direct link to centre of barcelona. small balcony but no view as such from apartment though did not matter. 5 minute walk to place d'espanya and fountain display and then on to montjuc with castle etc. barcelona was never a quiet city but full of atmosphere and something for everyone.
