We were lucky to be given an upgrade from a standard room and our room was lovely, spacious and very comfortable and very quiet. The staff were helpful and spoke english. The train station was nearby and many restaurants to choose from. We certainly recommend this hotel to fellow travellers.

This hotel was exactly as I had pictured it. All the reviews I read were of great help. Cleanliness was #1 and the noise level was especially good. Would recommend this hotel to anyone coming in on a cruise ship...as it is close to ship terminals and of course the "Rambla" where everything is happening!

the rooms are not comfortable and are very gloomy. They don't look particularly clean. The breakfast is rather poor, with very little choice (bread, cheese, ham...). You have to pay for the internet, for the lockers. We wait ages for the lift. The prices are much too high compared to what is proposed. I will advise against it, even to people I don't like.

Great hotel in a central location only 5 mins from the harbour, and walking distance to many of the central attractions. Balcony room was great, although the air con did not seem to work particularly well. The balcony was the key feature though as after sight seeing and eating and drinking we could retire to watch all the happenings of La Rambla. The hotel looked in very good condition, modern and very well maintained. Yes there are the prositutes downstairs, and curiously the 'red light' district seems to only extend to a hundred metres either side of the hotel, although you could not tell from the inside. The prostitutes were harmless to us and provided some entertainment, and I do wonder if that english guy ever got his stolen phone back? A colourful place with lots of action and great food and drink on the doorstep, but very quiet with the windows shut. Amazing.

The hotel was very nice, a little pricey for what it was though. The towels were very thin and the room was very small for a premium room and that particular stretch of La Ramblas was a bit seedy. However, the breakfast (contintental) offered a very large choice and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.

My sister and I shared a room, it was a bit dated but adequate, room had no view but was quiet. We were traveling with my parents - my father is wheelchair bound. Their accommodation was really excellent and only cost €20 pppn more for their fully adapted room. The location is just fabulous, straight out the door and we were on Las Ramblas with the restaurants and short walk to the shops and El Corte Ingles. Perfect for a wheelchair, no need for cabs or buses. Only complaint was the restaurant. Despite a sign saying breakfast available for €10, my sister and I paid over €15 for a very basic breakfast. We brought the parents outside to Tapa Apat where they sat in the sun and had a lovely breakfast served by a very attentive waiter for €7.50 each! Next morning we were all back there. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay in Arc La Rambla and would definitely go back there. It is just in a perfect location within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants and we also loved the solarium.

For the price, the hotel was sadly lacking in amenities...not pen and paper in the room to take notes, no instructions on how to reach the front desk from your room, bare minimum of toiletries in the bathroom...hard as rocks pillows. Dreary and worn out halls and bedroom decor...out of order computer. In terms of cleanliness, which is most important in the long run, it was immaculate. The concierges were friendly....for the most part could communicate...tried to be helpful. The breakfast was good.

The hotel is on Arc La Ramblas in the best part of Barca and that was the main reason we chose this hotel!! About 30 mins walk from the bus station which is a nice walk. The recpetionist wasn't overly friendly but nevermind! The reception and entrance hall into the hotel is very clean, modern and inviting. Our room was very big - we had booked a double and got put in a room with a double and a single which was fine by us - it gave us more space for our luggage. the bathroom was clean and bright with a big mirror. The view from our window was horrible (the back of the hotel) but then again I did not visit Barca to look out of windows. You could hear doors slamming but not loud enough to keep you awake or wake you up. This hotel was great for the money we paid and for the location I don't think you could have asked for more!

Hopefully this hotel has improved since we stayed here in 2007. We were intitially put in a horrible, tiny room, badly in need of redecoration and with a view of the lift shaft from the small window - despite us booking months in advance and asking for a room with a view of the street. The second night, we were awoken by a fire alarm going off right outside our bedroom door and had to vacate our room. They couldn't turn it off without switching off all the electrics in our room, so had to give us another room. I couldn't believe it when we saw the alternative room - modern, spacious, with a balcony onto the Ramblas - it was like we'd stepped into a completely different hotel! When we refused to go back to our original room the next night, the man on reception was extremely rude, refusing to talk directly with me and telling my husband he should 'keep me under control'!

We booked a "standard" as opposed to a "superior" room. The room we were given was small and smelled strongly like a sewer. The small window looked into a dark 5x5 airshaft which contained all the noisy A/C units for all the rooms. The room's A/C unit was broken, and roared to life at completely random intervals ranging from a few minutes to 10-second bursts. We got no sleep. In the morning there were 2 small bugs in the bed. The scores in this review are based on that room. The hotel upgraded us to a superior room for the next two nights at no charge (usually 35E/night). It was like being in a different hotel - a modern, clean, decent room. Obviously, there is street noise from the Rambla, and the neighbourhood is a little sketchy at night (witness the arrest of several prostitutes under our window on night #2), but it is definitely central to many of the sights.

Great location, La Ramblas is right on your door step. Within walking distance of harbour, city bus tour stop, great restaurants and bars not to mention shopping. It was only 15mins in a taxi from the airport. Room was a bit small but I suppose we didn't spend that much time in it anyway so it was fine. I´m allergic to paint material, I ask for another room in another part of the hotel, they refuse with rude commentaries and they insisted on charging me for a room I did not want because of conditions they did not disclose before hand even when they were told I have severe allergy conditions. We were very happy with our accommodation at Arc la Rambla being even easier to find than we thought. The location of the hotel is convenient to the harbour, transport and great restaurants. We were extremely happy that our request to have a balcony room overlooking la Rambla was met. Travel and tour information was readily available in the foyer and reception staff were also very helpful. We took the opportunity to have breakfast in the dining room each morning and while the service was welcoming the variety of food was very limited - pasteries were a little stale and disappointing. Food aside, our stay at Arc la Rambla was a comfortable and enjoyable one and presents good value for money.

I booked a room fro 90 euros. When I checked in I found that the tv did not work, the phone had bare wires that were not connected to anything, and the only light switch that worked was the one by the entry door (very inconvenient when you get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I complained about this and was told the next day that nothing could be done. They offered me another room which was much nicer and perfectly acceptable with working phone, tv, and light switches. I was offered this room at check-in for 20 euros more per night. I declined not realizing how bad the original room was. They did not charge me the extra 20 euros. So all's well that ends well.

Rooms are okay, clean but small. It is all about location, location and location. The hotel is central to everything important in Barcelona and the metro is virtually out the front door. The street is fantastic and everything around is fun. Great for vistors looking for the Barcelona experience in the surrounding streets.

Two rooms booked for four people. One room was disappointing, rather small, noisy, very poor lighting and no shower curtain in bathroom. Other room very comfortable. So rating based on a combination of satisfaction from 2 people and dissatisfaction from 2 in party of 4.

Our stay at the hotel was on a room only basis. Room was on front of hotel directly facing on to La Rambla. Physical signs of refurbishment, but did not encounter any noise problems during our stay. Room cleaned efficiently and staff helpful and courteous.

Hotel was in a fantastic position with quite high potential but had serious problems. Lack of a shower curtain, lamps and room lights in general not working, balcony shutters attached back to front so they didn't shut properly, swipe card door lock that only worked when it wanted to and when we went to complain and get it fixed male receptionist was incredibly rude and did nothing whatsoever in line with customer services. If it wasn't for the wonderful city of Barcelona the hotel would have ruined our holiday.

I'll start with the good. Very modern reception and lounge area. The reception was fantastic. There was a french girl(I think!) and a blonde girl, and both were very kind. I was trying out my terrible spanish on them which they heartily responded to, and once I ran out of my extremely small spanish vocabulary they spoke excellent english. The location is awesome, walking distance to tons of stuff. Just be careful of the prostitutes at night in front of the peep show a few doors down! haha some people that might bother but we found it entertaining. There are lockers in the back for bags after you've checked out (we had a night train) for 2 euro a piece and there is also an awesome lounge area w/ Leather couches, tv, very good. Ok, now for the room. Kinda drab, dark and tired looking, uncomfortable bed. No desk, only one chair and a wardrobe with a safe. Apparently in the unrenovated section. Bath was a catastrophe! The shower is just kinda there with no curtain or enclosure, and the hose to the showerhead was no only leaking, but spurting ALL OVER the rest of the bath, soaking everything. Not only that, for me it was ice cold. My boyfriend got a hotter one later in the evening. Maybe they ran out of hot water always around 8pm? But I had three short, cold, very wet showers. We also didnt have a real window, it opened onto a shaft. That shaft echoes, and there was a bunch of rowdy kids screaming out of it, playing music, etc till all hours. I actually had to wear ear plugs the first night. We're in our 20's, but that was really loud for us. We asked about maybe switching rooms, but apparently its even worse noise street side. Anyway, we didn't switch and just tried to laugh off anything that went wrong. Also, becareful of the restaurants just outside. Ask prices before ordering. We paid 10 euro each for a glass of sangria at Mickey's when it was just 13 euro for a whole pitcher somewhere else the night before. Also the food wasnt very good.

Obviously this hotel is undertaking certain type of internal renovation. The photos on the website are of those new rooms. The room of our stay is from the old part of the hotel. Furniture and bathroom are old. No shower curtain in bathroom. I agree with one of the previous comments that you will find yourself in a swimming pool after you finished your shower. No writing desks in the room and the room is so dark (almost no lighting). The only place you can have proper reading or writing is the bathroom. Personnally very disappointed, particularly on the price they quoted and the quality of hotel rooms. If someone wants to stay in this hotel, please make it very sure that they assign you in the new part of the hotel.

very good location. Employees not too customer oriented. Showers do not have curtains or other element to prevent water from splashing out. Room keys have to be left in front desk for "customer security" but are not readily available when you come back.

Hotel Arc la Rambla is a great location, whether for walking or catching the metro or the Bus Tourista or city bus. Barcelona is a fantastic city. I could have stayed longer and definitely want to return. Hotel Arc is a good value.

We made reservations for a standard double room. It was terrible with no window to the outside. It was very noisy and the beds were very uncomfortable. We do not recomment this hotel.

I was disaapointed that despite booking so far in advance the hotel located us in the unfinished part so we had no hotel safe in our room. A very tiny cramp room. Just not a good experience. The receptionists looked bored and even on one occasional gave us someone else's room key!

There are several types of rooms, since the hotel is being improved; the oldest ones, where we staid were really poor. The site should allert for this difference between rooms.

Dont need taxi to get to this hotel if you can get to green line metro. Get off at Drassanes and simply walk up La Ramblas away from the Colombus monument and you are there in about 30 metres on left. Easy. Same green line serves Montjuic fountains (Place Espanya) and Nou Camp (last stop but one towards university-Palau Reial I think it was?)- it really is that simple.

A very nice hotel in La Rambla. The staff were excellent in very way. We could not fault them. The location is excellent being very close to the harbour and the metro. We had room 116 which was very quiet. Just what we needed. We would not hestite to stay there again

The hotel was undergoing some rennovations in the public rooms. Our room was on the top (4th floor). The elevator is small, so if you have lots of luggage, you may need more than one trip. Our room had two twin beds, that were not very comfortable. And the air conditioner was not very efficient. The walls are pretty thin. The location is great, right on La Rambla, the staff was great. The price made up for any incoviences that we might have felt.

Az központi elhelyezkedéséhez képest remek áron, nagyon kellemes hotel. Very nice hotel, but I was surprised as it turned out the breakfast is NOT included. No problem, but the breakfast for one person costs almost the same prize like a three-course dinner menu in the town.

The hotel was very central to all amenities, we didnt have to do much walking at all.the rooms were quite small but was adequate for our length of stay which was 4 days.the rooms were very clean and the air condition was very good, staff were friendly and very helpful, I would recommend this hotel for short stays as the rooms were small but then who stays in their room all day when your in Barcelona!dont mind the reviews about the peep show a good few doors down from the hotel,we had no bother from it at all, dont let it put you off as the hotel is such great value.we didnt take advantage of the breakfast which was 8 euro each,we ate out each morning, try the patisseries on one of the main streets,Ferran, off the La Ramblas, more authentic, nicer coffee and a lot cheaper if thats what your looking for.

Nice hotel and good location. The room and bath room had no table or dresser to put things on, which makes "living out of a suitcase" difficult.

it was a good 3-star-hotel, clean, calm (when you closed the window, which was ok, because of the airconditioning), the furniture were modern like the photos have shown. so it was an excellent relationship between price and quality. The staff was kind, but not very engaged to help you (e.g. we wanted to visit a concert and it was very difficult to get any informations about it in the hotel). The best was it is in the middle of La Rambla, so an excellent place!
