Our room was very small, the bed very low and uncomfortable, pillows were flat. The hallway carpet was very worn and stained and the curtains in the room were dusty. The staff was wonderful and multilingual. The computer and internet connection was very slow and since you pay by the minute this was problematic to even check our flight times.

Excellent location on LA RAMBLA Our room was a bit too close to action on La Rambla Noise until 5 AM However we chose to stay on LA Rambla

Hopefully this hotel has improved since we stayed here in 2007. We were intitially put in a horrible, tiny room, badly in need of redecoration and with a view of the lift shaft from the small window - despite us booking months in advance and asking for a room with a view of the street. The second night, we were awoken by a fire alarm going off right outside our bedroom door and had to vacate our room. They couldn't turn it off without switching off all the electrics in our room, so had to give us another room. I couldn't believe it when we saw the alternative room - modern, spacious, with a balcony onto the Ramblas - it was like we'd stepped into a completely different hotel! When we refused to go back to our original room the next night, the man on reception was extremely rude, refusing to talk directly with me and telling my husband he should 'keep me under control'!

A great location on the Rambalas, close to the monument to Christopher Columbus, the old port and the Gothic quarter, not to mention the Drassenes metro station for easy access to other parts of the city and the airport. Good breakfast selection, but remember to pre-book to reduce the price from €10 to just over €8.

We booked a "standard" as opposed to a "superior" room. The room we were given was small and smelled strongly like a sewer. The small window looked into a dark 5x5 airshaft which contained all the noisy A/C units for all the rooms. The room's A/C unit was broken, and roared to life at completely random intervals ranging from a few minutes to 10-second bursts. We got no sleep. In the morning there were 2 small bugs in the bed. The scores in this review are based on that room. The hotel upgraded us to a superior room for the next two nights at no charge (usually 35E/night). It was like being in a different hotel - a modern, clean, decent room. Obviously, there is street noise from the Rambla, and the neighbourhood is a little sketchy at night (witness the arrest of several prostitutes under our window on night #2), but it is definitely central to many of the sights.

Overall the hotel was excelent. we stayed in a premier room which had plenty of space and a good view of la rambla. room was pretty quiet, the only noice was the door closing in the next room. excelent location, about 20 walk from the beach and right next to all the sights and not far from the nearest metro station.

great to be on the main street right away where all the action is. previously we stayed farther and had to walk longer to get to las ramblas. However, we'd love to have had a miniref in the room...otherwise location was great and room was quite clean and bathroom was very tidy and clean

The Hotel is very good in services. The surroundings are very, very noisy at day and mostly at night! If you like some sleep before midnight, do not book rooms which show to The Rambla ( signed as best category ) We loved the proximity to the habour sites, old town areas and the Metro Connection

At first, the proposed room was very small and with no possibility to open the windows shutter because there was a patio just in front of the window... So After asking two times for room changing, we got a larger room with a small balcony. The breakfast was not so large as mentioned on the web site. But at the end, it was a nice stay.

My husband and I stayed for 1 night in this hotel before we went on a cruise. The location is very good and the staff were very courteous. We booked a standard room and were given a superior room which very large considering the price we paid. The only snag was that while we were in the room resting after we arrived, a man opened our door and when we complained about this we were told that it was the maintenance man who thought that nobody was in the room. However we were assured that this will not happen again.

Great location, La Ramblas is right on your door step. Within walking distance of harbour, city bus tour stop, great restaurants and bars not to mention shopping. It was only 15mins in a taxi from the airport. Room was a bit small but I suppose we didn't spend that much time in it anyway so it was fine. It was a bit noisy at night but you have to expect that if your staying on the main street in any city. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back here if I'm ever in Barcelona again.

My general experience was horrible. They put me in a room in a zone that was actually under renovation with workers, painting, cement, dust and noise all around. I´m allergic to paint material, I ask for another room in another part of the hotel, they refuse with rude commentaries and they insisted on charging me for a room I did not want because of conditions they did not disclose before hand even when they were told I have severe allergy conditions. I move out as soon I could find another place to stay. My advise: DO NOT GO THERE

We were very happy with our accommodation at Arc la Rambla being even easier to find than we thought. The location of the hotel is convenient to the harbour, transport and great restaurants. We were extremely happy that our request to have a balcony room overlooking la Rambla was met. Travel and tour information was readily available in the foyer and reception staff were also very helpful. We took the opportunity to have breakfast in the dining room each morning and while the service was welcoming the variety of food was very limited - pasteries were a little stale and disappointing. Food aside, our stay at Arc la Rambla was a comfortable and enjoyable one and presents good value for money.

I booked a room fro 90 euros. When I checked in I found that the tv did not work, the phone had bare wires that were not connected to anything, and the only light switch that worked was the one by the entry door (very inconvenient when you get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I complained about this and was told the next day that nothing could be done. They offered me another room which was much nicer and perfectly acceptable with working phone, tv, and light switches. I was offered this room at check-in for 20 euros more per night. I declined not realizing how bad the original room was. They did not charge me the extra 20 euros. So all's well that ends well.

Hotel was in a fantastic position with quite high potential but had serious problems. Lack of a shower curtain, lamps and room lights in general not working, balcony shutters attached back to front so they didn't shut properly, swipe card door lock that only worked when it wanted to and when we went to complain and get it fixed male receptionist was incredibly rude and did nothing whatsoever in line with customer services. If it wasn't for the wonderful city of Barcelona the hotel would have ruined our holiday.

I'll start with the good. Very modern reception and lounge area. The reception was fantastic. There was a french girl(I think!) and a blonde girl, and both were very kind. I was trying out my terrible spanish on them which they heartily responded to, and once I ran out of my extremely small spanish vocabulary they spoke excellent english. The location is awesome, walking distance to tons of stuff. Just be careful of the prostitutes at night in front of the peep show a few doors down! haha some people that might bother but we found it entertaining. There are lockers in the back for bags after you've checked out (we had a night train) for 2 euro a piece and there is also an awesome lounge area w/ Leather couches, tv, very good. Ok, now for the room. Kinda drab, dark and tired looking, uncomfortable bed. No desk, only one chair and a wardrobe with a safe. Apparently in the unrenovated section. Bath was a catastrophe! The shower is just kinda there with no curtain or enclosure, and the hose to the showerhead was no only leaking, but spurting ALL OVER the rest of the bath, soaking everything. Not only that, for me it was ice cold. My boyfriend got a hotter one later in the evening. Maybe they ran out of hot water always around 8pm? But I had three short, cold, very wet showers. We also didnt have a real window, it opened onto a shaft. That shaft echoes, and there was a bunch of rowdy kids screaming out of it, playing music, etc till all hours. I actually had to wear ear plugs the first night. We're in our 20's, but that was really loud for us. We asked about maybe switching rooms, but apparently its even worse noise street side. Anyway, we didn't switch and just tried to laugh off anything that went wrong. Also, becareful of the restaurants just outside. Ask prices before ordering. We paid 10 euro each for a glass of sangria at Mickey's when it was just 13 euro for a whole pitcher somewhere else the night before. Also the food wasnt very good.

Obviously this hotel is undertaking certain type of internal renovation. The photos on the website are of those new rooms. The room of our stay is from the old part of the hotel. Furniture and bathroom are old. No shower curtain in bathroom. I agree with one of the previous comments that you will find yourself in a swimming pool after you finished your shower. No writing desks in the room and the room is so dark (almost no lighting). The only place you can have proper reading or writing is the bathroom. Personnally very disappointed, particularly on the price they quoted and the quality of hotel rooms. If someone wants to stay in this hotel, please make it very sure that they assign you in the new part of the hotel.

Dont need taxi to get to this hotel if you can get to green line metro. Get off at Drassanes and simply walk up La Ramblas away from the Colombus monument and you are there in about 30 metres on left. Easy. Same green line serves Montjuic fountains (Place Espanya) and Nou Camp (last stop but one towards university-Palau Reial I think it was?)- it really is that simple.

The hotel was undergoing some rennovations in the public rooms. Our room was on the top (4th floor). The elevator is small, so if you have lots of luggage, you may need more than one trip. Our room had two twin beds, that were not very comfortable. And the air conditioner was not very efficient. The walls are pretty thin. The location is great, right on La Rambla, the staff was great. Best location, right on the main street, La Rambla, close to shops, restaurants, metro. Photos shown on website are only the ones of renovated rooms. The room we stayed in was old, dark and gloomy. If you'd like to experience a night in a bunker, go to this hotel! No windows in the rooms, very basic furniture, not even a bedside light, no shower curtain, which means you're like in a swimming pool after the first shower, you must switch on the light in the whole room if you want light in the bathroom (very intelligent if you want to go to the toilet during the night!), all this for almost EUR 100 a night, it is just way toooooo expensive. Recently refurbished hotel certainly worth more than the current star rating. Lovely rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel & I would definately stay here again.

We went there as a couple. The hotel is located close to everything, La Rambla, Plaza Real, MareMagnum,...and to LESSEPS metro station which is really convenient. The rooms are clean, quite small, and without any day light. The service we were provided was good. The hotel is just next a sex shop but it does not have any impact as there is always a police corps nearby. I would recommand this hotel if you want to stay in BCN for a couple of days. Relationship between price/quality is very good. One detail, the hotels offers bag lockers so even if you need to leave the room prior noon you can let your bags in a safe place in the hotel the whole day or even more.

It is truely bad to show nice pictures but live in a room withoug window, loud and with bad smell. The bed makes noises, the bath is truely uncomfortable and changing to a better room costs 25 Euro per night. It was a bad choice to book via this portal, since nobody feels risponsible for the failures.

Stayed for three nights in, the hotel was in good location for all sights. Could be noisey as the room we had was in the front. Could not get any drinks in the hotel, not even water from the night Porter! The breakfast was good but if you got there after 10 am nothing left. But overall good value, clean and comfortable and would recommend this hotel to anyone

The room's window opened into a noisy dirty shaft. BUt hey, it was cheap, and we didn't spend that much time in it!

Photographs were really at the opposite side of the reality. Maybe there were some renewed rooms and old ones. The photographs were all about the new one but we had one of the old ones!!

Adequate, but uninspiring rooms. Good buffet breakfast. Competent and helpful front desk staff.

The rooms are definitely not "soundproof", as claimed in your webpage information! I had asked for a quiet room, not facing the street, and accordingly was given a room on the backyard side. Hence there was no street noise, but the room was poorly soundproofed against "in-house noise". Every little sound from the corridor seemed to come through, also to some extent from neighbouring rooms. Not ideal for light sleepers. Overall, though, it was a good stay. Great location. Favourable rate at Christmas (€135 for three nights 23-26 Dec).

We booked 3 superior rooms for our stay and would recommend these to anyone, Overall this is one of the best hotels in the price range, that we have stayed while visiting our favourite city. We arrived early but still got checked in straight away, he staff are friendly and helpful. The only downside, the 'ladies' of the night camped outside. The moral of that story is if you are likely to need a bottle of water in the middle of the night buy it before you go to bed. Overall comment Would recommend this hotel to anyone and will definatly stay again

Very nice hotel on a perfect location. Stayed on the 4th floor in a renewed room overlooking La Rambla; absolutely no outside noise at night (with window closed). Personell was not very open or communicative: the receptionist didn't say anything when we arrived (just took my reservation and started working: it made me feel something was not OK). Furhter stay was perfect. Don't take the breakfast: have breakfst or brunch in one of the surrounding café's.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona. It's low price and star rating does not correspond with the reality of the hotel. It is a very modern, up to date hotel and surpasses other hotels I've stayed in in Barcelona with higher star ratings.

The hotel is fine but they did a lot of mistakes with my reservation. At the time I stayed there I had problems with the reservation because I reserved a superior room and they gave me a standard room the first day (I did not notice the change until next day when I saw my reservation printed from my Laptop) when I asked for the room change they told me that they had not available rooms at this time so I needed to wait up to one room were checked out. When I complained why they did not assign the right room since the beginning they told me nothing that had explained the mistake (if that was a mistake) because I complained the same night the conditions of the room they assign me but they asked me for the reservation paper and I had all the information on my laptop. I have not shower curtain in the bathroom, the towel shelf felt down when I took the towel after the shower, and many other problems around the room. When they finally assign me the new room, I check it all and it looked better than the first one but I had a new problem the door can’t be locked or it had some trick to be locked. I went to the front desk to report the problem; they told me that it will be fixed but never were. The final problem was when I paid the bill, of course they charge me the full price no discount at all for the inconveniences under the argument that she (the front desk responsible) had no authorization for applied discounts from the original price, that I have to complain in writing and after that may be I would have a discount.

The reason why we rate the realtionship between price/quality as low as 6, is that we would have liked to be informed that our room was faceing a shaft. That means that we had no/very little natural light during the day.

The staff at the desk is completely uncompetent. unfriendly people unable to give ANY informations about touristic venues. But the rooms are really nice, very quiet and peacefull and quite designed (at least for our room, n°115) and the hotel as a very good location, at the bottom of la rambla.

Great Hotel, good locality, will definately stay there again, close to Beach, Shops, and main attractions. I normally stop north of Cataluna square, but tried this hotel for a change, I wasn't dissapointed.

Posizione ottima.
