We stayed for 4 nights. The first room w/ a queen bed was small and over the inner courtyard airconditioner so noisy. We were moved to a larger room w/ 2 beds on the street. It was larger and quieter. The front desk staff was very helpful. It is about a 25 minute walk from Las Ramblas, so quieter but not in the middle of the action.

Overall a nice hotel, conveniently situated in Barcelona, with however: - the bed was too firm, it took me two nights to get accustomed to - the buffet breakfast at 11.77Euros is too expensive for what it is (but there is an express version at 3.5Euros, and many pubs around) - the free wifi worked fine only in the lobby and lounge, not in the room I had.

I am tourist from Hong Kong, i stay in Hotel Aranea for 4 nights, although the location of hotel is not far from subway, when you taking the big suitcases from hotel to subway station, you should becareful(Someone said 5mins on foot, but i spend 10-15mins). But the hotel is really close to Sagrada Familia. And the room is clean and quiet, bathroom is good. Finally it is a good hotel and reasonable price, a good choice to stay here.

Ottimo albergo, rapporto qualità prezzo eccezionale, pulito nuovo, accoglienza molto cordiale e ampia disponibilità.

It was really ok, unfortunately the first two days the air conditioning didn't work but they fix it immediately as we tell them it wasn't working! I stayed in a double bedroom and it was clean and comfortable.

A great hotel at the price we paid. Newly remodeled in the past few years, modern decor, large bathroom in comparison to other places we stayed in Europe. Great location. WiFi area/internet room was beautiful. A very busy street, the only drawback is the loudness of the location--if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. We were unable to keep our windows open at night for sleeping due to the noise. Otherwise we loved the location. Rooftop terrace has a great view of the surrounding area and even a little bit of the Sagrada Familia. Chaise lounge chairs available and even an outdoor shower. No shade, be careful of the sun. Definitely a bargain for such a nice hotel at this price.

Buen trato.

The hotel is excellent, especially for the price. It is located in nice district; only 5min walk to Sagrada Familia and near Tetuan metro station. It's not necessary to book a breakfast for 11EUR, because there are few bakeries near the hotel and you may have a good breakfast only for 3-4EUR.

Ci tornerei volentieri. Siamo coniugi di 30 anni.

Overall the our stay at the Aranea was enjoyable and offered good value for money.Myself and my girlfriend stayed fur 4 nights in early March. The first impression wasnt too good as the outside of the hotel did not look anything like the photographs on the web site. On entering the lobby though we were impressed by the bright clean decor and the girl on reception was very helpful and spoke good English. The room was slightly on the small side but clean and comfortable. The hotel is located on a quite busy road but traffic noise was not too bad ( the nearest metro is a six or seven minute walk).I would recommend the Areana for a short stay in Barcelona

Hotel was good , however, hairdryer was broken and towels not replaced. Also, we booked a taxi from the hotel on the morning of departure and they charged us €55 to the airport which was a rip off - if this is standard I think hotel should have warned us as the fare from airport to hotel was €30. But overall hotel was excellent value for money.

Beware room 202 (ditto 102, 302 etc?). We booked a double room for 2 nights... and it wasn't... a double room. It was just too small, A small double bed, hard up against a wall, in a room that was small. I complained and we were given, with no argument, a much better room (204) for the next night. It was acknowleged that 202 was small. It'd be fine for 1 person though. However, even in room 204 the hairdryer was broken and there was no hot water in the morning... Breakfast in the hotel is expensive (11 euro), but if you are hungry and like numerous cups of coffee, then it's probably worth it. And... what is said about Barcelona is true... Beware pick pockets!! Someone - a woman - had a go at my bag within 5 minutes after getting off the airport shuttle bus. Luckily, having been warned, all the 'valuables' were in the pocket closest to me... safe. Otherwise Barcelona was great. Enjoy!

It was my first time in Barcelona. The hotel was good, located near the Sagrada Familia and other interesting places, like Barrio Eixample, where the Gaudì houses are. The area is quiet and safe at night. The rooms are modern and have been cleaned every day. The staff is helpful even when you need more info about restaurants nearbys. We didn't have breakfast included in the room price so we ended up in a delicious cheap bakery which is very close to the hotel. There is also a supermarket next to it.

It is a very good hotel, in a great location. Following the suggestions found on this website, we didn't have breakfast in the hotel (so no comments for that), but found really nice cafes/bakeries in the neighborhood. Rooms are clean and exactly the way they look in the pictures. They have the cheapest minibar we've ever seen. Italian spoken.

The overall hotel was fine, but the staff, especially the dining room staff could stand to be a lot more friendly. The cost of the breakfast should have been included in the cost of the room.

The hotel is nice and clean, it's just the location that is not quite ideal for a city-trip. No breakfast included. Next time I'd choose a place closer to a Metro to Ciutat Vella / Old Town. Travelled to Barcelona week of May 5 and spent one night at hotel Aranea. Loved the hotel, photos on website accurately display rooms etc. Rooms very clean, nice size, minimal, bathroom great, looks new, very clean, everything you needed provided. Location was great. Away from the main tourist drag but close enough to walk to if you wanted. Yes there is street noise, but thats part of the atmosphere of staying in a city. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and will stay there again.

The hotel is placed in an area close to most of the sights of the city. The rooms are quite nice and clean. The bad things were an extremily annoying noise from the boxes below the elevators everytime someone was using it,the fact that the walls were so thin that you could here what it was happening in the next room or in the corridor and finaly i was really disappointed from the staff (the recepsionist) who tried to sell me a room for dayuse (until 18.00 max) not under the day use price (about 50Euros) but for 140Euros although we've been paying about 95Euros per night.Generaly is a nice, clean not so expencive hotel. 3rd time we have booked a Hotel via Venere, and again, it met the standards set out on the web site and the various reviews/comments posted. Our 7/10 quietness of room rating was no surprise, as previous notices had warned of this; I'd put this down to the fact that night life starts off late in Barcalona. The rooms were spotless, and extremely well maintained. All staff very courteous, and breakfast excellent. I'd estimate located roughly midway from Tetuan Metro stop and Segrada Familia (The Cathedral), roughly 15 mins walk from each. Some might say a bit away from the Ramblas and the Port area, but I thought a great base, as quiet and safe at night, away from hussle, bussle and noise of the Centre. Took taxi to and from the Airport; 4 up with cases, apx 35 Euros inc the various supplements.

The location is good because you are not in the heart of the chaos, but there are underground stops near by the hotel which are easy to use. We wanted to sleep in some mornings, and it was hard to since the whole place is hardwood floors you hear the cleaning people in the mornings. There is a grocery store right next door if you wanted to buy a cheap breakfast, and restaurants around. You are not a far walk from Las Rambas. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our two rooms, though not large, were comfortable and clean. The staff were helpful, informative and efficient. The restaurant breakfasts (we didn't have other meals there) were quite satisfactory, with a reasonable array of choices. There is an underground rail station about four blocks' walk away. Overall, we were very satisfied.

I am happy to recommend using the Apsis Aranea. The hotel is in a quiet location and is within walking distance from most tourist areas. We visited Barcelona for a long weekend and would happily use the Apsis Aranea again.

Excellent hotel for the price, good facilities and helpful, competent staff. Good breakfast, nice modern decor and pleasant atmosphere. Good location within easy walking distance of Sagrada Familia (10 mins), Passeig de Gracia (15 mins), Plaza de Catalunya (20 mins). Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends.

I stayed as 3 night offer. I liked the Cleanliness and Spaciousness of the room. The service was sufficient. And the deco of the room was nice and basic (as you can see from photo). If other people who stay at the hotel go by the corridor not laud at night, then it is very quiet. There is nearly no sounds coming out from outside. It locates local area and I liked it. There are 3 stations from Hotel on foot takes around 10min. I don’t know this called far or not, but I felt not that close to public transport. There is no breakfast included the prise, I knew that through the Venere web page, so I bought fruits and bread in a supermarket. There are lots of shops near by. So that was no problem. It is good place to stay. I am very satisfied, and I will go back there again if I visit Barcelona again.

Room was nice - clean, quiet (at the back of the hotel), good bathroom. Only bad point was the room was quite cramped with not enough storage space - 5 coat hangers and four tiny drawers were not enough for two people staying for a week! The location was great - handy for Sagrada Familia and buses/metro and not too far to walk into the centre - but in a quiet, safe-feeling area.

Very modern hotel. Staff spoke English (even though I tried to speak Spanish). The room and service were even better than I expected. The only slight drawback is the location. Our cab driver from the airport had to look up where to go on a map when we gave him the address. Although the metro stop is about 3 blocks away, one must transfer to get to La Rambla through a very long tunnel (think Chatlet in Paris). It is very close to the Sagrada Familia, however. My big regret is that we didn't stay in Barcelona longer. There is a lot to see and do. We would definitely stay here again. Excellent value for the money. After speaking with people who stayed on La Rambla, we are very glad we stayed here for quality of the rooms, price, and quiet.

great hotel. the rooms were very nice. It is a little out of the way, but i liked the walk to other parts of town and the underground metro is close by. Plus, I felt we were in a very safe area.

The rooms were pretty quiet even though they faced the street. They were also very clean but a little small. The breakfast however was 10 Euros extra and was a joke. This problem was easily fixed since there were dozens of small cafes and tapas bars nearby. The location near Sagrada Familia was excellent.

Excellent value for money. The hotel is new so the rooms, although not huge, are all very modern, wood floors and well fitted out. It's a 10 minute walk to the centre through well lit and busy streets. I would definitley stay here again! One thing to note, if you want a room with a single double bed it would be worth contacting the hotel directly to request this.
