Hotel America - Barcelona

We have arrived from Barcelona and had a very nice stay at hotel America who had an exellent service with a lot of smiling faces. They vere very helpful with coordinating taxis and restaurants for us. We vere 2 families 12 people who had a very nice stay at this hotel. Breakfast was also exellent and at the roof with the swimmingpool and the bar we also had a nice time all together.:)

The staff were friendly and helpful, directing us to local attractions and a very good flamenco show (most are rip-offs but this was good quality and not all of the audience were tourists!). Rooms were good for the price - there was outside noise, but then what do you expect in a thriving Euorpean city at the weekend!?

Very friendly reception staff. Bedroom large enough. Floor needing a bit more cleaning. Breakfast okay. Would need more food and a staff more smiling.

Stayed here for 2 nights and would definitely stay again. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was well located for most of the sights in Barcelona. Roof-top pool and jacuzzi are a bonus too.

It is a nice hotel, situated near the great streets of Barcelona (Via Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia, Las Ramblas...) I was just a little dilused by the size of the swimming pool, it's really small !

All in all, my stay at the Hotel America and Barcelona in general was fantastic. The pool area in the hotel was definitely one of the plus points and only wish the weather was a litte more on our side as we would have taken advantage of it a lot more. The staff were always very friendly and always eager to help. The hotel surrounding area was perfect for us as it was away from the hustle and bustle but yet there were a few bars and restaurants to go to if you wished. Reaching the hustle and bustle was convenient with a less than 10min walk to a metro station or the alternative FCG train stop which was on the doorstep of the hotel. Would definitely recommend hotel and the city for anybody looking for a funpacked city break.

Very enjoyable stay. Very good location in the eixample district. Decor very nice. No problems with noise (some reviews had mentioned this). Local restaurants were great. We stayed 4 nights, and ate in a different restaurant each night, all of them within 100m of the hotel. In particular "La Polpa" was particularly good and excellent value. WOuld recommend

Simple, modern style within easy reach of main tourist areas but away from noisier places. Stayed in Feb so didn't use roof top pool and leisure facilities. Would stay again.
