The hotel was good value for money; the only downside was that it was about 7 metro stops from city centre, and in an area with no convenience stores nearby.

This is quite a good hotel. I stayed 3 nights in this hotel when I was in Barcelona. Although it is at a suburb, it is only 15 minutes Metro ride. Worth it. The Metro is just behind the hotel. Very convenient. There is a nice Cafe in the building next to the hotel.

Best hotel in Barcelona if you want a good price/quality relationship and you don't mind taking the metro for 15-20 minutes to the center or to the beach. The hotel is situated in a quiet area in the northen part of Barcelona and has the metro, a big supermarket and some shops nearby. It also has a big road passing on the side that is a bit noisy.

Pretty good hotel for the price. Only 20 mins from Plaza Catalunya by metro. They have wifi internet, but they charge a fortune (it works by pre-paid cards).

Mundet subway station (green L3 line) is just beside the hotel and after a 13 minutes ride one can reach Placa de Catalunya. Also, in the adjacent block there is a big Consum supermarket (open Mon-Sat 9-21)- ideal for self catering. The only inconvenience at the room 216 was a missing opening handle at the room safe, so that once closed it couldn't be opened again - please check before deciding to put anything inside!

This is a really OK hotel. Former times we visited Barcelona we stayed in town and they were nicely situated but mostly very noisy. Rooms at Alimara are quiet enough to sleep well. They are not luxurious but quit large, that's great and a nice large bathroom. The walk to the metro or busstand is short and try the cafe-stand at the metro-station. It's really good. We think Alimara-hotel is a good deal.

We stayed in room 502, with a window towards a major road. Therefore it was noisy when the window was open. And we had to keep the window open during night as we need a cool bedroom, and the air conditioning did not work. In addition to this the hotel is not in Barcelona center; it is in the north and it requires a 15 minutes metro ride to get there. But the metro station (Mundet) is next to the hotel. No restaurants nearby, except for at the hotel.

Even if we had no problem to understand spanish no one spoke english at the desk and we think it could be good to have someone that can english at least at a basic level. The worst thing we noticed was the water pressure in the bathroom, it was too low and it made difficult to adjust the warm water during the shower, maybe becouse we were at th 9th floor :) We noticed 4 stars at the entrance but we think the hotel is a good 3 stars.

Nice modern hotel, located down the street from a metro stop, which makes it very convenient, as it takes like 10-15 minutes to get to the center of the city by metro. It is a residential neighborhood, so there are no restaurants or stores around that would interest tourists. The beds are hard.

The hotel is fine, but, though being on 6th floor, we could not sleep due to street noise. A 4star hotel should have better-soundproof windows. Reception personnel were young, probably from the nearby Tourism University, and were very shy and not too warm-welcoming. One of the receptionists gave wrong street indications when asked for them (causing us to walk for miles in the wrong place!).

Alimara is close to the Mundet subway station, from which you are able to get to most, if not all, the sights of Barcelona. The hotel is clean, reasonable service and of good price if you compare this against other properties in the city itself. No issues... We will return!

I am pleased with the level of comfort and service that I found at the Alimara. The location is quite a distance from central BCN but this is not a problem as it is only 100m from the Metro station at Mundet (but watch out for pick-pockets!) You can walk under the dual carriage way and through university buildings to some nice woodland tracks with spectacular views of BCN. If you are a late waker the don't forget the DO NOT DISTURB sign on your door as the maid will barge in otherwise!

Tornerò senz'altro in questa struttura e lo consiglio a tutti coloro che visiteranno la meravigliosa città di Barcellona...

The hotel is not in a centric area but with easy access by public transportation (metro). Rooms are huge, ours even had a big terrace! Very few personnel though (we arrived on a Saturday night on our way back from a long trip). The hotel is very close to the Jardines del Laberinto D'Horta --which we visited when we started that trip in Barcelona, before heading to the Provence. The park D'Horta has a beautiful neoclassic labyrinth in the main garden, worth visiting indeed. If you do not mind being a bit far from the action, the hotel is a super deal (we paid 79 euros).

It was a nice hotel over all. Noise might be a problem because it's located near the highway, but with your windows closed it's ok. Part of the reception personnel speak English quite well.Meals were a bit expensive, it's much cheaper to eat out, in the city.It is a little far from the center but the subway is just nearby and it's an excellent mean of transport- fast, comes often, clean and it covers a big part of city.

A great place to stay if driving. It is close to the ring road yet extremely close to Metro and a 12 minute ride to downtown. The only surprise was that in this modern, relatively new hotel facility, they were unable in their system to accept a phone card! Perhaps this is intentional to require that their phone system with charges is used. Nevertheless, we very much recommend this hotel.

I travelled with my sister and we stayed four days at the hotel Alimara. Everything was perfect except the temperature in the room-it was too hot-there was an airconditioner but the empolyes told me in april only works the heating. It´s too loud to open the window during the night but if it´s closed it´s quiet and you can sleep well. The best thing about the hotel (beside the quality): you reach the underground station in one minute(walking)and with the green line you get to every important place. I would definitly stay there again.

Staff on check in too busy talking to themselves to really bother with a customer! Got passports passed between three or four staff and not one actually spoke to us or welcomed us. Staff on duty later in our stay very helpful with recommendations for restuarants and sights. On balance a good place to stay close to metro, as described but a little impersonal.

The Hotel was very pleasant and although it is quite far away from the city centre, (about 30 Euros in a taxi from the airport) there is a metro station literally around the corner which makes getting to and from the city centre highly convenient. There isn't much at all in the surrounding area, in the way of shops/restaurants. Also, avoid paying the extra for breakfast (approx £12), we simply jumped on the metro in the morning and had a lovely (far cheaper) breakfast in the city in one of the numerous cafes. Also, handy hint, get the aerobus from the airport into the city drop point (Placa Catalunya I think), about 3 Euros. Then get the metro to Mundet (just around the corner from the hotel). Its about 10 min on the metro.

On y retournera.

I travelled to Barcelona with my boyfriend for a couple of days of relaxation and sightseeing. Alimara had been advertised as a convenient location for seeing the city, and with easy access to the Metro we found getting around very simple and unstressful. The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and the room was fine with a lovely bathroom. My only complaint would be the noise from the ring road was extremely loud and intrusive making it less than peaceful.

Away from main strip, but the train is just a few steps away (end of the hotel block) and a quick train ride away. Not much around the hotel other then olmypic facilities, but still you're only a quick train away from the action. Hotel was huge compared to the small Italian hotels. bathroom was good as well.

The hotel met our expectations and the room exceeded them! Very clean, trendy looking rooms. The staff was helpful and friendly, we wanted a non-smoking room and got one the next day when one was available. We didnt have breakfast at the hotel as we thought it was too expensive and the location is not perfect either because it is next to the motorway, but with the windows closed (there is aircon.) it is fine. The journey into the city centre was fine too (10-15mins), we didnt mind taking the metro at all. Its fast and easy to use. Overall a great hotel and even though it was still being renovated, it was a primo hotel to enjoy a long weekend in Barcelona!

The Hotel Alimara is a wonderful place to stay. It's away from the city center which makes it a very quiet place to rest after a day of sightseeing. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. It is located very close to the metro station which makes it very convenient when going to the city center. The only thing we thought bad about the hotel was not informing us that the breakfast wasn't included with the room. When we received the bill, we were charged 11 Euros each for the breakfast buffet. We felt like we should've been better informed about breakfast during check-in. There was also a card providing details about breakfast but there wasn't a price associated with it.
