It's a nice hotel in the very center of La Rambla, close to the port. The breakfast was fine. We even had breakfast with a very early flight. We chose the hotel because of its location. Very nice and relatively quiet for Barcelona. Rooms are small, but that's all the same in all hotels in the city center as it is old city.

This was a really centrally located hotel, so ideal as a base for sightseeing. There were numerous bars and restaurants right on the doorstep. The reception staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was basic but clean and adequate for our needs. With the windows shut we couldn't hear any of the noise from the busy main street, however I suspect it might be noisy in the summer when it would be too hot to keep the windows shut. Overall I would recommend the Adagio for people who want a fairly cheap, well located base for a few days in a fantastic city!

We enjoyed our stay at the Adagio. The location is grand. The hotel was a tad noisy, but it is Barcelona so bring earplugs and enjoy. The breakfast included is sufficient, but is simply coffee, cereal, toast. I recommend the hotel offer some fresh fruit to its customers and watch your ratings soar. The front staff were generally excellent and quite accommodating.

The man in the reception was very friendly and helpful, we got our room immediately as we arrived, were offered a security box (all boxes are located in one extremely small room). Our room was very little, but OK, clean and tidy, with a (small) bathroom. We had a french balcony towards a narrow little street. The noise from the street was very loud when the windows were open, but when closed it was very quiet!! We slept OK, mostly because we were exhausted...although the bed was very hard. The breakfast was served in a very small place, but the variety was OK. All in all a nice place to stay, ideally located, right in the middle of absolutely everything! We would definitely stay there again!

Location is great. Room was small and had no chairs and no reading lights. (Small lamps on night tables were bolted to the tables.) TV was fine but Spanish language only. Bathroom was mopped down and thoroughly cleaned, and fresh towels daily. (Bathroom door in Room 401 does not close completely.) The room was not dusted and mopped daily, but beds were made up. Fresh bed linen on third day (we were there 5 days). People at desk were generally pleasant. They did not always understand English very well, but responded as if they did. For example, on the third day, we said that we had not received soap since the first day (when we received one tiny bar, about 1 x 2 inches). The guy at the desk said that he'd tell "them" about it. When we still did not receive any soap, we told the person on duty that night and he said, "Oh, you only get soap on the first day." The elevator is quite temperamental but does work eventually. (One night we had to walk down 5 flights but it was fixed when we got back.) The breakfast was generous and generally very good (forget the orange juice). Overall, this hotel has some drawbacks as mentioned above, but is clean where it counts, reasonably priced for Barcelona, and superbly located.

Location is great in the Gothic quarter with excellent connections with all the city zones thanks to the Liceu metro station around the corner. Ventilation of the room was not proper, the elevator was twice out of work. Indicate 'exterior view' when you book the room. One should provide almost all bathroom supplies which are not included but on the first day. The room was not adequate for business travelers /no proper light on the desk, no chair/ but the location within short walking distance to Picasso museum and historic points, many restaurants, bars, souvenir shops in the surrounding makes this hotel unique. The breakfast was basic, adequate.
