We were staying in Barcelona for 4 days. The hotel was ideally placed. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were very welcoming. They have a few quiet rooms available, which was great for me as I am a light sleeper, but not suitable if you want a view from the window. The price of breakfast seemed excessive at 14.95 euros, but was on offer for 10 euros when we got there. It turned out to be one of the nicest breakfasts we have had in an hotel with a huge selection of things to suit most tastes. Air conditioning was very welcome even in May and free Wi-fi was a nice bonus. This hotel was definitely a good choice for us.

My wife and I were in Barcelona for the first time. We wanted a decent hotel with a central location without getting ripped off. The room was spacious, but too warm. Difficult to get enough fresh air intro the room facing the tiny back yard. The air condition was not yet turned on despite +/- 20 degrees celsius outside. Staff were friendly and spoke English fairly well. Very small lobby.

-Excellent location near Universitat placa. -Air quality in the room was poor. There was a window but it gave to a very small (few square meters) back yard so the window didn't give air or light to the room even when open. -There was noise at night in the corridor. -Free Internet was a big plus. -Breakfast (not included) was good. -Safety deposit box didn't include, 3 € per night.

The Hotel is very well located, good neighbourhood, close to plaza Catalunya, the room was big, but smelling of last guest tobacco, bathroom very clean. The guy on reception, explain me very well how to get to an address that I needed, very nice with metro instructions also. breakfast was not included and for 14 euro that they charge your get better things in a restaurant for 8 euro, dont pay breakfast.

The room was as represented, and comfortable. The desk people were unusually helpful, the location convenient. The breakfast was only satisfactory, probably proportional to the lower price. We would stay at the Hotel again and recommend it to others.

This was an excellent facility. Our room was quite adequate for our needs. Breakfast was not included, but was available at an additional cost and it was well presented, diverse in offering and filling. The location made most sights in Barcelona quite convenient and easy to get to. The metro was only two blocks away. Aside from sights there were many food facilities also available. I would stay here again in the future.

Front desk was very unfriendly, even hung up the phone while calling from the stop over in Paris where we unfortunately missed the connection flight to Barcelona. Once again on departure as the hotel had problems with the credit card number. Stuborness mixed with incompetence.

The room was commodious and clean. The only thing we missed was daylight, although the room had two windows. But they viewed to small inner courtyards, nearly slots. But the geographical position was very good so we could achieve a lot of places of interest within walking distance.

+ new and modern hotel, great bathroom, clean room, good location vs Placa Catalunya and Rambla, good breakfast - noise from the ventilation (can be turned off), very small waiting area, very poor noise insulation in the walls and door, late check-in (2pm)and the room was not ready before 3pm.

The hotel is located in a working class neighborhood. It is very close to Las Ramblas and Placa Catalunya about 10 minute walk. The bathroom was finished in marble and very clean, as was the room. The A/C worked very well and there was an small refrigerator. We enjoyed our visit and would go back to The Apsis Splendid if we are in Barcelona again. Note that the rooms on the first floor are smaller than those on the other floors. I did not have any problem with noise in our room which was facing the inside light well. One plus is a free internet connection at a shared PC.

L'hôtel a un très bon rapport qualité/prix. C'est un vrai 3 étoiles. Les chambres sont spatieuses et climatisées, les salles de bain sont immenses et avec tout le confort. Les petits déjeuners sont excellents! A recommander! The hostel have good rate quality/price. It's a great 3 stars. Rooms and bathrooms are ample and air-conditioned. Breakfast are excellent!deeply recommended!

Good hotel location. Our room was adequate, but not exceptional - interior location made it dark but quiet (except for occasional noise in hall outside). A modern, comfortable hotel conveniently situated. Relatively quiet, for Barcelona. Breakfast was good but the breakfast room was rather modern autere - a bit depressing, and a bit noisy at times. The main criticism of the hotel is that the internal walls have almost no noise insulation, so it can be very noisy in the small hours if people are coming back from the bars etc. Overall, though, not bad. We'd stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for one night pre cruise and one night post cruise. Whilst the rooms weren't large, they were more than adequate for our purpose - perhaps for a stay of a week or longer I would pay for a larger room. They were very clean and modern and the beds were comfortable. The big plus was that the staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was within walking distance of Placa Catalunya. I would stay at this hotel again.

We had a very enjoyable stay, but was disappointed to find no tea\coffee making facilities in the room, and also lack of power points for charging cameras etc.The room itself was ok but smaller than we expected but this did not spoil the visit. We were on the 3rd floor, but we had a store room directly next to us that was accessed early morning by maintenance staff etc and this sometimes proved noisy. On the whole we had a lovely stay the best part being the wide choice of food available at breakfast time especially all the fresh fruit.

Security at hotel non-existant. Our key was given to a thief who subsequently stole items from our room. Room keys were given out without any verification of guests. The hotel accepted no responsibility for this, and the manager was rude and showed upmost negligence. Even at the time of check out, we were instructed to go into the storage space and pick our luggage without any control whatsoever.

Never ever in my life I had such a bad room! The size was good as we were the tree of us but the 2 windows were facing a manhole. 6 o'clock in the morning the A/C has been turned on from below (goodby sleep...). Staff was not friendly at all. In Barcelona I do not expect a heartly welcome (as we are not in Italy...) but at least I expect a "hola" or "adios" or maybe "gracias" when I leave (at least they live from our money). All in all I would not recommend this hotel.

The Aspis was quite central, it was a 10 min. walk to La Rambla. The hotel is very new and clean, quite small though. When we checked in our room wasn't ready even though it was 3.30pm. They told us that we could have a coffee in the eating area. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very nice, they came in each day and cleaned it also which was nice to come back to. The cleaning ladies very nice and friendly but the desk staff were very cold and not welcoming at all. They were efficient but not at all warm. There are plenty of cafes to go to around the area instead of paying 12euros for the breakfast there, which in my opinion is overpriced. I would stay in this hotel again but not for the happy staff!

Room was small but very nice and very clean. Bathroom was small but also very clean. The men at reception were not really friendly but did help with directions if asked. This did not tale away from the hotel. One problem is that when in your room there is alot of noise from the hall areas ie doors closing people talking. But great value for money.

We requested a quiet double room, but were given twin beds - not that it mattered much. It was a quiet room until some noisy loutish football supporters (Chelsea played Barcelona whilst we were there) disturbed the whole floor- shame on them, and no reflection on the hotel itself. The bathroom was fabulous! We didn't take breakfast as there are plenty of cafes nearby for coffee & croissants but the dining room looked clean and welcoming. The location of the Apsis Splendid was fine, near enough to walk into the centre, but also with access to metro and bus routes.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. Being a family of four , it would have been better (and probably more economical) to have one family room (sleeping 4 ) instead of 2 separate rooms. The rooms and were very nice and clean. Also the athmosphere of the hotel is comfortable and it was appreciated that Apsis Splendid is a rather small hotel. Service and competence of employees were excellent (we arrived before the official check in on the first day and could get a room earlier, were advised on sightseeing and how to get there etc.). The only bothering thing is that the toilet is very narrow. There is not enough space left between the toilet and the sink (towels are hanging right next to the toilet)

Thank you very much for a nice stay! We would love to come back here:) Excellent location pretty near the ramblas, the placa Gracia and placa Universitat. We loved the clean bathroom, and the loving employees:) I really recommmend this hotell. The only thing I can pinpoint is that we didn`t get to bring any friends to our room. We wanted our other friends to see our nice room, but that was not allowed. Too bad, because they would love to stay at the hotel, but they really wanted to see the rooms first! Anyway, our stay was very nice and we hope to come again:)

What an excellent location, quiet but in the middle of Barcelona and near all the attractions. Rooms were spacious and clean. I loved all the marble - beautiful bathroom. It was clear up front that breakfast was not included which was not a problem. Cost was exactly as on the website. Shame that there was no bar but the mini bar was reasonably priced. Well worth having lunch on the beach. Take the metro to the Olympic Village and go down onto the beach not on the promenade. There are a handful of restaurants that are on the beach. We went to the one with the Buddha and it was out of this world. Best food I have had in ages.
