Location is excellent. Hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable. connecting rooms available. Rooms in the back are noisy due to a near by school and sport facility. Reception staff was polite but very slow on service (it took 4 hours to look at a non functioning TV). housekeepers do not use carts, and used bed linen is freelty thrown in a guest elevator to be carried to the laundry.

We loved the location of this hotel! It was right in the heart of town. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside to the hotel is the room size was small (typical though for Europe) and the bed was extremely hard and the pillows are really flat, but that also is common in Europe, but this one was especially hard.

Apsis Atrium in a good location. 10minutes from Placa de Cataluna. 15 from Ramblas. The hotel decor is very modern, clean and elegant. The staff all spoke perfect English and were very helpful. The room was again a very modern uncluttered design. Very impressive and also a really good size. Bathroom also very well appointment with simple style. The room house-cleaning staff were not as impressive. They missed our room on one day despite us putting the "Please clean our room" sign out. We are not early risers so they missed us in the morning ( our own fault ). The only other issue was with the air conditioning, which was not as impressive as you'd expect from an hotel of this class. It was average but not great. Good air con is necessary in July when it's 32degrees at night. Overall I'd definitely return, probably in Spring or Autumn. But location, design, front-of-house-staff, room all great! Air con and house staff a little dissappointing. But we'll be back and recommend it.

This hotel is excellent value for money. The room we had was quite large with a sizeable bathroom. The air conditioning worked a treat as did the blackout curtains. Also the room had another basin and mirror opposite the wardrobes for added convenience. The room was very clean and the fridge was stocked with fresh water and fruit juice every day which was included in the price of the room. If you need your 'net fix the rooms have wired and wi-fi broadband internet access as well. Overall a really good hotel in a good location for easy access to the main tourist points in Barcelona.

The Atrium Palace is a modern hotel with excellent facilities. We had a nice room at the front of the hotel with a small balcony - the rooms are very sound-proof so the noise of the road was not a problem. There were nice little touches in the rooms - slippers and bathrobes and a nice range of toiletries. Not only was the hotel nice but the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. The hotel in general was very clean and the staff superb. The location was absolutely perfect. Upon our arrival we received a complimentary bottle of champagne which was greatly appreciated(we were celebrating our engagement. Our inital 'house keeping' issues were resolved immediately (lack of bath robes). However, two facts may prevent us from returning to this particular hotel (especially in the summer months): Noise levels in room - noises from the room above, the corridor (guests and cleaners)and other rooms disturbed our sleep on numerous ocassions. The worst problem that became almost unbearable was that the air conditioning didn't seem to work.

The hotel was easy to find, despite the rain on the day we arrived. It was easy to find parking outside to unload the car, and the carpark was also easy to find. Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to the major parts of town and a train station. The room was very large, and decorated nicely. The hotel amenities were excellent. We especially appreciated the free internet terminals available. Only one thing prevented us from giving this hotel an excellent rating - noise. The door and walls were thin, and we could hear everyone walking past the room, and their conversations. When one of the adjoining rooms shut their door we heard this also. We constantly heard the plumbing from the room above. Not what we expected at a hotel of this standard. I'd still recommend this hotel, if noise doesn't bother you.

We were a bit apprehensive about travelling with a 10-month old baby but the Spanish in general and the hotel staff in particular were welcoming to all of us. The hotel was very clean and modern, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had read that the hotel backed onto sports facilities and although sometimes during the day children could be heard shouting, the view was a bonus to us as watching the various age groups of children playing was fascinating to our baby. The double bed was enormous (you could sleep either vertically or horizontally!) Best discovery in the hotel was the modern stylish jacuzzi which we managed to get to ourselves, and the baby thought it was the greatest thing ever. The hotel is easily reached from a nearby metro and bus routes and none of the main sites are very far away. The only downside was the final taxi ride to the airport which was booked by the hotel. The driver left it till we got to the airport to announce that he would be charging an airport supplement for the journey, so we paid nearly twice as much to get to the airport as we did in the taxi travelling on the day of arrival. The moral is, always ask the cost before putting your luggage in the taxi!

We visited Atrium Palace as part of our 25th Wedding Anniversary celebrations. We were delighted with our accommodation and the staff on a whole were friendly and helpful. However, we were disappointed on our first night that we chose to eat in the hotel restaurant. The menu for us was very very limited and disappointing as there was also a large party booked to eat at the restaurant on the same night. We also asked for Sangria to drink and were told this could not be provided. On a whole although our special meal was a disappointment we thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our visit.

The quality of the hotel was excellent and ideally situated for Las Ramblas and Placa de Catalunya. A very clean hotel and a freindly welcome from reception. Nothing was too much trouble. This was a great place to stay in a great location, very convenient for exploring the city. Our room faced the back and was very quiet at night (except one night when someone on our floor had a door-slamming fight, but that's hardly the hotels fault). The sauna and small swimming pool are open reasonably late for relaxing after a long day out. We paid E170/night, which seemed reasonable for all the amenities offered, so if you get one of the lower rates I've seen in some other reviews it would definitely be a bargain.

A super hotel in excellent position. Swimming pool was very small and the water was very cold but the jacuzzi was great fun. There was free access to the internet on 2 computers in the business centre- an unusual feature in a hotel. We loved the decor of the hotel and rooms- very modern and attractive. Venure site was very accurate and we did not pay for the room until we left the hotel unlike another website where we booked a hotel in Sitges that took our money within 2 days of our booking it on the net!! I would highly recommend the Venure site and would use it again. I would also highly recommend this hotel - a bit expensive but it was a very central position and very near the metro and buses. The only down side was that we thought we had booked breakfast included in the price but we hadn't - I checked the website again with the hotel employees - and that the noise level in the rooms was not wonderful- but probably no worse that any modern hotel!! Go for the Venure website and this hotel!!!!!

Luckily I'd readother reviews before booking, so was aware that breakfast was not included, but that's as close as I can come to criticism. The hotel is centrally situated - an easy walk from the airport bus and the tourist buses. The reception staff are helpful in giving advice/leaflets and there are others available. They also sent an email a week or so beforehand with helpful hints about Barcelona. Facilities are good, though the pool is small. Free mini-bar for soft drinks is always good, too

There was a major problem involving the air conditioning. On the second night of our stay the hotel switched from air conditioning to heating, which was impossible to adjust. Consequently, the rooms became sweltering during the night, despite leaving the window wide open. We complained to the desk every day but were informed that nothing could be done. Another aspect of the facilities that was far from satisfactory was the fitness room. Three pieces of equipment (one of which did not work) in a pokey basement room that smelled of sewage! The swimming pool was little bigger than a large bath. However, Barcelona is a wonderful city and we will certainly revisit it, but we will stay at a different hotel.

The location of the Atrium Palace is spot on. The hotel is about two blocks from Las Ramblas, La Placa Cataluyna and about the same from the Gothic district and so is central to the "must-sees" in Barcelona. The staff are friendly enough and the rooms are spacious and smartly decorated so any time spent in the hotel will also be enjoyed. One small criticism is that quotes for breakfast items from the front desk did not quite match up to the bills received so confirmation should be received prior to indulging too heavily in breakfast in bed. Aside from that the Atrium Palace in Barcelona was the best hotel we stayed in following small trips to Koblenz, Lucerne, Amsterdam and Paris.

I have been surprise by the fact that room were so small, no separation between toilet and bath room. This hotel is over priced. I was in Girona the following day in a 4 star hotel, equivalent if not better and 50 % cheaper.

Our only complaint was that the exercise room was too hot and there was no TV to reduce the monotony. They should also have a treadmill. While they asserted that they had WIFI I could not make it work. That might be my problem but I have made connections elsewhere.

The hotel was lovely. My only real complaint was the address of the hotel was not on the confirmation e-mail and I had to rely on the taxi driver to know where the hotel was.

Wonderful stay, the pool and spa are fantastic. We didn't eat breakfast as it seemed expensive, 15 euros each. It was convenient for the centre of Barcelona, only 10 minutes walk.

Hotel is well situated; staff are welcoming.Rooms are exceptionally large for a city hotel with a modern ambience and good facilities, such as mini bar, free safe and pay to view films. We recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

An excellent, well refurbished, modern hotel behind a traditional facade. The rooms were cool, clean and spacious, and the location is terrific. The sharply dressed staff though helpful and efficient were a pretty unhappy looking bunch. Unfortunately we did witness some of the restaurant staff being terrorised by a particularly beligerent member of the management team, and that surprised us, because otherwise the hotel was excellent and we would have no hestitation about returning.

We had an excellent three nights stay. Had asked for double bed but twin was in room. Nice air conditioned rooms. Dressing gowns and slippers a nice touch when taking lift to basement level for (small) pool, sauna and jacuzzi - open until midnight. Bar in room is NOT free - only the water and fruit juice is - the rest you pay for at typical hotel prices. Hotel is only 5 mins walk from where Airport bus drops you off near the Hard Rock Cafe. Well worth a visit - I would use this hotel again.

This was a very good hotel, reminded me of the Malmaison chain in the UK. Very modern without being unwelcoming. Although I did not make use of the internet (wireless in every room) if this had been a business trip it would have been very useful.

The Atrium Palace is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed. It has its own character, which is difficult to get in new hotels. Decoration is great (astonishing mixture of modern and classical). The room had all the facilities and details you can imagine: from bathrobes to body milk. The friendly staff helped to make our stay memorable. Also the location in the heart of the city could not be better. I can only congratulate the hotel.

Had a 4th floor room to the courtyard - guess that rooms to the Gran Via could be noisy. Room was very nice and clean, personnel is friendly and helpful. Swimming pool and Jaccuzi are rather small but also very nice and clean. Barri Gothic is in walking distance, if wearing comfy shoes. Otherwise there are subway stations around and buses on the near Plaza Catalunya. Had a great stay.
