The hotel is strategically located within walking distance to metro. There is a supart market within walking distance which was a great find after a 2nd night. Staff were helpful in helping us locate car parking on the street to avoid the stiff car park charge! We dropped off the car after 2 night since we did NOT need it anymore. Had to rely on the jail broken iphone for tethering to access internet since wifi prices at the hotel are too expensive for 4 night stay. And there are no cafe's nearby to use wifi.

The hotel was fairly convenient to the train station, that was our main reason for picking it. The public areas were nice. The rooms were decent. The staff seems pressured to do some upselling. While checking in, we were offered an upgraded room for an extra 9 euros per night. I decided to take it. If our room was an upgrade, I'd hate to see the older rooms. As I said, the room was decent, but you had to wonder when the morning sun was shining through all the pin holes in the room darkening liner behind the drapes. I guess they forgot to upgrade that! My biggest complaint was lack of free WiFi. What's with that??? When you are traveling, it's often necessary to keep in touch with the family back home. I ended up paying the extra for 24 hours of WiFi. And warning...if you have a couple of wireless devices with you, only one at a time could be on the WiFi. The hotel could use a concierge to help with travel planning. There was no one to ask questions of. The hotel does have a wonderfully big room to leave your bags in if you are checking out but not leaving the city right away. That was very much appreciated. The room was de

A great double room for 2 people. It's quite close to the railway station and it's easy to access every highlights in Barcelona. There are cheaper supermarket and nice restaurants around, offering a great value food. It's a kind of luxury hotel with great price, but the breakfast buffet is not included with cost 9.8Euro per person, a little expensive for breakfast, so we didn't taste it.Moreover, wifi will be extra charged, that is what I hated only.

Fully meet the expectations, nice location near the train station, 3 min to the metro station, 7-10 min to the square of Espania with singing fontains and bus stops to different parts of the city. Very nice rooms with balcony, bathrobe and slipers, the room was just after renovation (for this we did the upgrade for 8eur per day)

We stayed here for 2 nights in August 2010, very friendly receptionist and we were able to check in earlier, around 11am. However we were told that a double room was not available, only a twin room even though we booked a double room. We were told we could upgrade to an executive double room for 8 euros a night. It turned out to be worth it as we had a large balcony, dressing gown and slippers. The pool is much smaller than the photos appear, the terrace bar was not very appealing and drinks were quite expensive compared to bars outside the hotel. But all in all a good experience, would definitely stay there again and take the executive room. The location is great too, 5 mins walk to Placa Espana where you can catch buses to Sagrada Familia, Placa Catalunya etc.

Really nice hotel. A few steps from the Sants Station where you can go anywhere via Metro or Train, very friendly staff, clean and nice rooms. Excellent big breakfast for only €9. We recommend an upgrade to the Executive room for only €8.50, you get to stay in a bigger and newer room. DO NOT STAY on the 10th floor, the elevator only reaches the 9th floor and you have to carry your bags upstairs, it's also very noisy because of the elevator machine that is close to the rooms. Book with confidence, it's a really nice hotel for the price.

This hotel is handy for the coach and rail station though the area itself is not particularly inspiring. My room was quite spacious and adequately furnished. It was rather noisy, however, and too warm to sleep well. The staff were all helpful and efficient.

This is too bad that internet is not accessible from Wifi facilities, except if you buy for a very expensive price 24 hours which are delivered in one time without possibility of interruption. Usually in Europe Wifi is for free in Hotels from 2 stars on.

Great value for your money. Bit far from the City, but luckyly taxi fares are reasonable, if you get tired of walking. Sightseeing bus stop (at railway station) next door. It is a handy and inexpensive way to travel around the town.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in Barcelona and to a large degree this was due to the service we had in Hotel Expo. The staff were very helpful and gave us useful advice on getting around the city and the sights we could visit. My only complaint was that the hotel internet rates were extremely high, almost 10 times what we needed to pay at a nearby internet cafe.

Opposite the hotel is a building site at the moment but I am sure it will be a better aspect soon. The hotel is very pleasant, clean and comfortable. Very close to train and easy access to airport via rail. Not exactly central but convenient to see the sites. Roof pool gives you a good view of Barcelona. Restaurant was pleasant with excellent service in English.

At first when i got there the person at the desk was no curious and after making us wait for 15 minutes he told us that the rooms where not ready and ti was passed the checking time. we had to leave the luggage and come back. When we came back again we had await around 20 minutes. I had requested 2 non-smoking rooms and the room they gave us were smoking room and the smell of cigarretes was awfull. When i when to the front desk they argue with me that my reservation didn't specify the room type and that they didn't have any other available rooms. I insisted until they some how found us one non-smoking room on the 10th floor right below the pool(no elavator service to that floor. The noise level on the rooms is unbearable.Breakfast buffer not worth the price! The overall experience was awfull, never again! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL

It is very disgusting, about this questionaire that the couples must be divided into young, mature and gay couple. We think that couples are aouples, and it doesn´t matter the sex of the components. We have been travelling for a long time and we never have been never asked about our sex preferencies.

I had a pleasant stay and have very few complaints. I recommend the place. The only problem - and that is a problem - is the lack of quietness. The walls are thin, noise come in easily through the door - and occasionally from the streets as well. Remembering your earplugs is a good idea.

The Expo Hotel is a very nice hotel for the budget minded. The rooms are a bit small, however the facilities are nice. The location is very central to most of Barcelona city. The metro station is close and you can walk to many sites from the hotel. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. There is a decent breakfast buffet in the morning. However, for me, the buffet got old and I wanted more variety than bread, cold cuts and cereal. The buffet is also a bit pricey. I would definately stay at Hotel Expo again. I recommend it!

This hotel is is ideally located near to the main train station (~100m), so is an excellent location for getting around Barcelona (you can catch trains, taxis, underground metro trains, and open top tourist buses all from close proximity). The hotel is safe, clean and tidy, although it's starting to show its age a little. I would question its 4 star rating, as I'd say it's far closer to 3 star standards. Rooms are basic, but OK. We requested a double room, but only got a twin room, which was a bit of a pain. Breakfast is not included in the price either. However, in terms of price/value for money, it's a good hotel. If you're going to be out all day doing the touristy thing, then this hotel is more than adequate.

Appalling service for a 4-star !! Booked a double and got a twin, without any concern or apology for it. Then tap water is full of chlorine which is toxic (but no warning and you're not in the 3rd world either). Service and attention was appaling, I don't know how they got 4-star. Best confirm what you get first if you want to stay there (double bed, breakfast included etc..)

This place is a bit of a concrete monstrosity, but excellently placed for metro access or a short walk to the sights. Don't try to speak Spanish to the reception staff - they seem unimpressed by this; probably because they can speak really good English! Didn't eat in the place, but the prices looked pretty reasonable.
