When I arrived I discovered they already cherged my credit card without any reason. When I asked why, they didn't give me a reasonable answer. When they gave me The room there was no frigobar. I asked a room with frigobar and they change my room into another room in which The frigobar was switched off with only 2 warm bottles of water inside... For sure The worst 4 star hotel in which I've ever bene before!

Breakfast was not very inspiring. Admittedly one morning we arrived for breakfast with only half an hour to go but there was no bacon left and only three varieties of egg as the cooked option. One reason for selecting the Expo was the promise of the rooftop pool but we learnt on arrival that it is only open May - Sept and our visit was 17-19 Oct. We heard from other visitors that severl other hotels had not closed their pools.

Don't choose a standard room! The room was very worn. No chairs in the room, so you had to sit on the bed only. Just one plug was working. The shower was miserable and the water tab was hard to turn of. Though it was "cheap" room, we have had cheaper rooms at 3 star hotels which was mush better. Not worthy of a so called 4 star hotel.

The hotel was not soundproof at all!!! You could hear the room neighbours all time! The breakfast was poor. Ordinary cheese and bacon and scrambled eggs were missing at our second visit. We asked a waitress, she hardly understood English. When she finally did, she went to the kitchen only to return to say there were no more cheese, bacon or eggs, 9.30 am!! They finished serving breakfast at 11 am!! The most positive thing abt the hotel is the location!! Perfect when coming by train from the airport! Most Metro lines also pass Estacio Sans!

Definitly not a four stars standard.... We bought a promotion and the reception tried to sell us an upgrade as soon as we cheked in, they told us that our booking was for two separate beds and we were supposed to pay for a extra cost... Finally they gave us a double room with a double bed,but the room looked like a 2 star hotel like everywhere in the world. More than basic furniture, no minibar, and so on... The only touch of decoration ( a painting ) was hanged in a wrong way....( upside down ).... We definitly plan not go again to this hotel.

We stayed in barcelona for 5 days, the staff of the hotel was so kind and professional. The room wasn't very big but neither so small, there was a very accettable bathroom, even if was a continuous fight to have wather of the right temperature, there was a little balcony and every morning we were provided with clean towels, champoo and shower gel.the bar on the last floor was so cute and the swimming pool relaxing.

The hotel is strategically located within walking distance to metro. There is a supart market within walking distance which was a great find after a 2nd night. Staff were helpful in helping us locate car parking on the street to avoid the stiff car park charge! We dropped off the car after 2 night since we did NOT need it anymore. Had to rely on the jail broken iphone for tethering to access internet since wifi prices at the hotel are too expensive for 4 night stay. And there are no cafe's nearby to use wifi.

The hotel was fairly convenient to the train station, that was our main reason for picking it. The public areas were nice. The rooms were decent. The staff seems pressured to do some upselling. While checking in, we were offered an upgraded room for an extra 9 euros per night. I decided to take it. If our room was an upgrade, I'd hate to see the older rooms. As I said, the room was decent, but you had to wonder when the morning sun was shining through all the pin holes in the room darkening liner behind the drapes. I guess they forgot to upgrade that! My biggest complaint was lack of free WiFi. What's with that??? When you are traveling, it's often necessary to keep in touch with the family back home. I ended up paying the extra for 24 hours of WiFi. And warning...if you have a couple of wireless devices with you, only one at a time could be on the WiFi. The hotel could use a concierge to help with travel planning. There was no one to ask questions of. The hotel does have a wonderfully big room to leave your bags in if you are checking out but not leaving the city right away. That was very much appreciated. The room was de

A great double room for 2 people. It's quite close to the railway station and it's easy to access every highlights in Barcelona. There are cheaper supermarket and nice restaurants around, offering a great value food. It's a kind of luxury hotel with great price, but the breakfast buffet is not included with cost 9.8Euro per person, a little expensive for breakfast, so we didn't taste it.Moreover, wifi will be extra charged, that is what I hated only.

Fully meet the expectations, nice location near the train station, 3 min to the metro station, 7-10 min to the square of Espania with singing fontains and bus stops to different parts of the city. Very nice rooms with balcony, bathrobe and slipers, the room was just after renovation (for this we did the upgrade for 8eur per day)

We stayed here for 2 nights in August 2010, very friendly receptionist and we were able to check in earlier, around 11am. However we were told that a double room was not available, only a twin room even though we booked a double room. We were told we could upgrade to an executive double room for 8 euros a night. It turned out to be worth it as we had a large balcony, dressing gown and slippers. The pool is much smaller than the photos appear, the terrace bar was not very appealing and drinks were quite expensive compared to bars outside the hotel. But all in all a good experience, would definitely stay there again and take the executive room. The location is great too, 5 mins walk to Placa Espana where you can catch buses to Sagrada Familia, Placa Catalunya etc.

Really nice hotel. A few steps from the Sants Station where you can go anywhere via Metro or Train, very friendly staff, clean and nice rooms. Excellent big breakfast for only €9. We recommend an upgrade to the Executive room for only €8.50, you get to stay in a bigger and newer room. DO NOT STAY on the 10th floor, the elevator only reaches the 9th floor and you have to carry your bags upstairs, it's also very noisy because of the elevator machine that is close to the rooms. Book with confidence, it's a really nice hotel for the price.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in Barcelona and to a large degree this was due to the service we had in Hotel Expo. The staff were very helpful and gave us useful advice on getting around the city and the sights we could visit. My only complaint was that the hotel internet rates were extremely high, almost 10 times what we needed to pay at a nearby internet cafe.

The Expo Hotel is a very nice hotel for the budget minded. The rooms are a bit small, however the facilities are nice. The location is very central to most of Barcelona city. The metro station is close and you can walk to many sites from the hotel. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. There is a decent breakfast buffet in the morning. This hotel is is ideally located near to the main train station (~100m), so is an excellent location for getting around Barcelona (you can catch trains, taxis, underground metro trains, and open top tourist buses all from close proximity). The hotel is safe, clean and tidy, although it's starting to show its age a little. I would question its 4 star rating, as I'd say it's far closer to 3 star standards. Rooms are basic, but OK. We requested a double room, but only got a twin room, which was a bit of a pain. Breakfast is not included in the price either. However, in terms of price/value for money, it's a good hotel. If you're going to be out all day doing the touristy thing, then this hotel is more than adequate.
