I stayed there 5 days. Travelled alone. The personnel treated me royally. They are extremely friendly to all guests and visitors. I suggest they install a PC in the waiting room with Internet access to all guests.

Excellent start to a long period of travel, and following 42 hours in transit. Very good cafe for breakfast, just around the corner. Very good location for public transport, including the excellent tourist bus for "hop on, hop off" all day travel linking main tourist attractions on 3 routes.

We spent 6 days at the hotel and were very happy with it. We prefer not staying directly in the city center and found the residential neighborhood with its grocery stores, restaurants and close proximity to the FGC perfect for us. The room was large and had a partitioned sitting area, dinette table and kitchen. The staff was excellent in every regard.

my basis for comparison is with hotels in Italy and France with similar star rating. Barcelona (Aparthotel Bonanova) was the most expensive hotel we stayed in compared to La Spezia, Italy on the Italian Riviera and Nice, France (French Riviera). Italian hotels include breakfast for significantly less money. Watch out for thieves in downtown Barcelona. Aside from the walls being thin with minimal sound insulation, the room was clean and spacious.

Hotel consigliato a coppie giovani.

Nice hotel - a little far away from the city centre and the metro line it is on is not the main part of the metro so a little hard to get too and from. Very quiet area, staff helpful and would stay again.

Since we stayed in Barcelona for five nights, we were interested in a hotel that provided apartment type facilities. Although this hotel is north of the main part of Barcelona, it gave value for the money with its separate bedroom and kitchen facilities. We actually enjoyed being in the quiet and residential area and found it quite easy to use the metro around the corner. It is only four stops away from Plaza Catalunya and a quiet, uncrowded fast and easy to use ride. We chose to walk to the main part of Barcelona as well, but we enjoy long walks. The rooms were large, clean and pleasant. I do think the photo they use in the ad is misleading, however. It shows a separate living area and seems larger than what we received. When I asked about that discrepancy, they explained that the photo was of the larger suites which are located on the top floor. Our apartment had a separate kitchen area with a dining table and chairs, small but adequate kitchen appliance area and a chair for sitting and a somewhat separate bedroom partitioned off from the kitchen but no separate living area. Overall, the hotel provided what we were looking for, a comfortable, clean and roomy space with a refrigerator (and more)in a good neighborhood away from the tourist area. The reception people were courteous, and the surrounding area had many stores, restaurants, etc. It is known as the St. Gervasi area. Once they forgot to leave towels, and at one point we had a lack of enough hot water, but overall, I would highly recommend the place and would definitely return if I go back to Barcelona. Some might not like the distance from the main area, but we knew the location before going and actually preferred being in a neighborhood that was geared to residents rather than tourists. Prices for hotels in Barcelona are high, and I think we received good value for the rates charged.

Bonanova represents very good accommodation at reasonable cost. Location is quiet, but good selection of restaurants, cafes/bars and shops within easy walking. Transport to city centre readily accessible, but if travelling by taxi to the hotel ensure driver does not confuse with Bonanova Park ! We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only problem was in the pictures of the rooms. I thought there were two seperate rooms, but they are only seperated by a wardrobe. Everything else was great and I will stay here again.

the room is in fact a small apartment. Not as big as on the photos but big enough. The area is not touristy, but has a lot of small shops and restaurants. The main public transport centre (airport bus, trains etc.) is only 10 metro minutes away.

This hotel was stunning i really enjoyed my stay.i just wish i could have stayed longer the rooms were spacious and have a balcony. The hotel is situated a short walk from the train station and you can be in catalunya square in about ten minutes. be aware that it is the train station and not the metro you need (we spent an hour looking for the metro). If you intend to stay out late take a card from reception with the address of the hotel on as few of the taxi drivers speak english and not many drivers know this hotal plus there are two hotels called the bonanova. The metro closes aroun half ten but it only cost about ten euros from catalunya square by taxi.you can get a train ticket called T10 this allows you to take ten trips on the train we brought one witch last the whole trip. there is a tourist bus which operates from the square and this is the best way by far to see barcelona. You can by a two day ticket which you can use as many times as you like in that two day period and cost 22 euros.

Excellent hotel, well located for metro. Great staff, especially the woman during the day. The parking... frankly, quite a miracle that we were able to get in, due to the tightness of the turn required. Evidence of many scrapes in the garage...

The area is great, the reception area is well manned and clean, however the room was supposed to be a triple, and was a double with a fold up bed. There is a bit of an issue with privacy as there is not a proper division between the sleeping area and the extra bed. If you are over 5'10" be prepared for your feet to hang out of the end of the bed. We would go back if we received a room that resembled the one in the photos, otherwise not.

Room was great. Very spacious. Nice quiet neighborhood. Had a refrigator, and stove with dishes and utensils in the room. Easy to get to by train, however, it's located by the FCG trains, and not that normal metro trains. However, I believe the transfer is free from FCG to Metro. Really great place if you have more than two people or just like to stay with more room than your usual european hotel.

This was our first trip to Europe. We were surprised by the smallness of the hotel entry. The room was not what was pictured on the web. However, our room did have a walkon balcony. The service was good. The hotel was not as centrally located as we thought. All in all we would stay there again.

I had requested a non smoking room and we did not get one so the room was very smelly of smoke. The rooms were very large and had a mini kitchen and a small dining area. The apartments were quite far out of the central area appox 10minuties on the metro. Which was a bit of a hassle for going back into the city for dinner after you had a freshened after a day of sight seeeing. THe hotel was very quiet at night and the reception staff very helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is situated close to the Ronda de Dalt by-pass. This was ideal for me as I was travelling North by car to the Costa Brava. The hotel was also ideally situated to use the metro system. El Putxet metro stop was only a few minutes' walk away. The staff were all very fiendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. I would recommend this hotel as value for money and ideal for anyone who does not wish to drive their car into the centre of Barcelona. An all-day ticket for the metro was only 4.40 Euros. A taxi cost me 7 Euros when I returned after the metro had stopped running. The directions by road given by the hotel are poor. Even though I planned my route carefully the numerous one-way sytems of the narrow roads near the hotel resulted in a tedious time trying to find it. As almost all drivers will leave the Ronda de Dalt to head towards the hotel then a set of detailed directions from this road would be very helpful. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.

Good price and good location. Train station only 10 min walk or taxi service less than 5 euros some times. Good for an aparthotel but walls a little bit thin. I knew about it because I hear other people and I did not say anything but when we got back from party in the morning they call the reception to tell us to keep it down; no shit that is why you go on vacation.

We found Aparthotel Bonavena to be an excellent choice for us. Since we were travelling with our 19 year old son, it allowed us the space to sleep in separate areas. Also, the area in which the hotel is located, while not central to Barcelona, is a very short subway ride away, and the subway is just 3 blocks from the hotel. Actually, the Gervasi area is far classier, quieter, and nicer than the more central areas of the city, and yet is easily reached. We found 4 recommended Michelin restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, which is highly unusual. When we arrived late at night, we went straight to the closest of these, which was only 2 blocks away, and it turned out to be one of the very best dining experiences of our trip. We would recommend Bonavena to those of you who want a nice, clean place to sleep and and yet don't need large lobbies or other amenities of expensive hotels. The price/value ratio of the place was extroadinary. One problem only: the online map is not helpful. We suggest that you mapquest the hotel or else ask for very specific directions to it. Finally, we should note that the small parking garage requires acrobatic driving feats to enter and exit most of the spots. Be prepared for that, if you use it, and don't expect to easily go in and out during your stay.

2 Friends and I from the UK used the Aparthotel Bonanova on a room only basis as our base in Barcelona whilst we attended the Spanish F1 GP and explored the city, we had a moderate budget and this hotel suited us perfectly, Its in a quiet street but very close (less than 5 minutes walk)to El Putxet tube station and only four stops from the very centre of the city, the staff were friendly and efficient, the hotel was clean, bearing in mind we we not at the luxury end of the room tariffs its difficult to imagine getting a better deal for the price we paid, if your intention is to spend more time out in the city than in your hotel room then this is the place for you.

Excellent place to stay. It's like having your own apartment in Barcelona. It's a little hard to find at first and after getting mixed directions from locals we found it and were very happy. It's only about three blocks from the Puxet stop on the metro. I would return there again. Be aware that the phone rates are kind of high. And, make sure you get a local number to connect to the internet.

IT'S A DELICIOUS APARTHOTEL, WHERE YOU CAN FIND SOME RELAX AFTER A HARD DAY OF BARCELONA'S VISIT. IT'S NOT CLOSE TO THE CITY CENTRE, BUT VERY WELL LINKED BY UNDERGROUND. AND DURING THE NIGHT YOU CAN GET BACK TO YUOR HOTEL FROM PLACA CATALUNYA WITH A TAXI, THAT COST NO MORE THAN 8 EURO
