I stayed for 4 nights. The hotel was fantastic. The location very convenient. The room was very nice, extremely clean, all the facilities working perfectly, and the kitchenette was very convenient. The staff were very friendly, speaking English, and very helpful with suggestions for places to see, have dinner, metro connections, etc. I strongly recommend the ACACIA to anyone visiting Barcelona.

Excellent location, near metro, not far from centre, safe area, spacious room. Thanks to Lewis and other reception staff it was easy to collect all info required for our holidays and our visits to places of interest. The only negative issue for us was the poor and expensive breakfast which is served in the room after 9.15am. Minimarkets around are open until midnight and you can prepare your own breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay here. We arrived very late (2am) and the staff was alert and helpful. The pictures were accurate. More quiet neighborhood than main tourist areas. Very close metro stop and grocery store. Nice cafe next door with other restaurants within walking distance. The desk staff had good recommendations for local dinning. I liked the front door security - lobby staff controlled access. Would return again.

We were allowed to have our rooms early as they were available when we arrived (we had an early flight). This was greatly appreciated because we'd had a long 15+ hours of travel. Our rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and spoke English. An easy walk through the town if you are in good condition. There is a kitchen available if you have a longer stay. We only stayed one night. We got two rooms so our adult children shared one. Very comfortable. About a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport (I think about 35 Euros for the four of us and 5 bags of luggage). A 15 minute taxi to the port to our cruise (25 euros for us?? Just a guess, can't remember).

This was an excellent hotel in every respect. We chose it for a five day stay because it had more space than a normal hotel. The suite had lounge and kitchen areas, a bedroom and a bathroom. Everything was very well equipped: additional items for the kitchen could be supplied if required. We ordered breakfast for two on our first night but it was far too large, so we shared a breakfast on our other days which was more than adequate. It would be perfectly possible to self-cater for breakfast and other meals. The area around the hotel was mainly residential. Although the road outside was quite busy the double glazing and heavy curtains made the room both dark and quiet. The hotel was easy to get to on the Metro: the nearest station is Hospital Clinic (take the Comte d'Urgeil exit) and the hotel is one minute's walk. The staff on reception were unfailingly polite and helpful and spoke good English.

We are very satisfied with our accommodation in Aparthotel Acacia. We (5 adults) had two spacious, modern and clean double apartments, the other with extra bed. The staff at reception desk was kind and helpful. The breakfast did not include in price - it costed 10 euros/person and was served in the room. So, we strongly recommend this hotel.

An excellent choice for our three day stay in Barcelona. The friendly staff readily accommodated our earlier than expected arrival - a real bonus after 16 hours in transit. The room was clean, spacious and quiet, the bed comfortable and everything was in working order. Although the kitchenette was sparsely equipped, additional appliances/utensils were available upon request at no charge. We also liked the fact that the hotel's location somewhat away from the main tourist areas provided a glimpse of everyday life. There are many shops and cafes in the neighborhood, and the station for Barcelona's marvelous subway is just around the corner. We highly recommend Aparthotel Acacia.

We chose the hotel primarily because of its location and the possibility to do some cooking if needed. Arriving late, we were helped by the receptionist to find a local store that was still open. He also suggested a good restaurant nearby. We felt well cared for during our 5-night stay. Spanish hotel breakfasts mostly tend to consist of sweet cakes, juices, etc., so the kitchenette was very useful. The web description is accurate. Our apartment was overlooking the backyard and was very quiet. The street is, however, very busy so it may be that the roadside rooms are not as perfectly quiet as ours. The only problem was the direction of air-conditioning in the bedroom that pushed the stream directly to the bed. It was not a problem for us because nights were still not too hot, but it can become a problem in August. Overall the hotel was a good choice.

Room is quite spacious and clean. I think that it's very good for family with little child like us. Breakfast is serviced to room, and consists of breads, pastries, cereal and coffee(or tea). It's excelent. Also, the staffs are very kind. The bad things are noise and smell. The noise from the street and bathroom makes you feel that door is open. Also, after makeup room, the smell of cleaning spray or fragrance is very strong. Window can't be open.

Requested room (non-smoking, back of hotel) was not ready when promised, so we went out to eat. When we came back to see our room, it was obviously a smoking room as the air reaked of cigarette smoke. By this time there were no other non smoking rooms available on the back side of the hotel away from the street so we had to settle with a room facing the street. The room was fairly quiet except for ambulance sirens (hotel is near a hospital) and motorcycle noise (numerous in Barcelona). We arrived at the hotel after 10 hours of traveling, so we were anxious to get into our room to wash up and relax before we went out to eat. The ensuing problem with the hotel room not being ready, and then not getting the requested room was very disappointing.

The staff here were excellent and the cleaning staff are top notch. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were traveling with a five month old. We requested a baby cot in our room and it was all set up and waiting for us when we arrived. The only negative for us, was that because it is in a location outside of the main tourist area, it is difficult to find a variety of restaurants that are open between 6:00 and 8:00 pm. That's because the Spanish don't eat dinner until after 8:30 p.m. and with a 5 month-old, eating that late was out of the question. That meant either going down to the old city area, or making dinner in our rooms. So, if you are traveling with an infant, you may want to consider that. Otherwise, it is a nice location, a little off the beaten track, very close to the subway, and a nice glimpse into what life is like for people actually living in Barcelona.

booked 2 rooms for our family of 5, the hotel is across the road from "hospital clinic" metro stop, just a couple of stops from the main "sants" station which links you to the airport. not central but easily commutable around city. "diagonal" is within easy walking distance for the "bus turistic" staff couldnt be more helpful and were easily as good as many tourist info centres. they were particularly helpful with some lost luggage from our flight - which thanks to their assistance finally caught up with us in sitges a few days later very highly recommended for a good value for money tourist base

The Acacia Aparthotel provided an excellent base for my wife and 13 yar old daughter on a recent 4 day trip to Barcelona. It is close to the subway system and there are many places to eat nearby. It is important to note that the hotel IS NOT five minutes from Sants station. It is five minutes form the Hospital subway station and not really within walking distance from Sant Station. Apart from some confusion over the booking we had a fine stay here. The rooms were very comfortable and the children enjoyed playing with the electronic shutters. As someone mentioned earlier unless you are small in stature the shower head may be a little on the low side. I'm a mere 5ft 9in and the head was down to the base of my neck making showertime... limbotime! Other than that there is little to fault the rooms. Location is fine being just a few metres away from the Hospital Clinic metro station on Line 5 (blue) and we never seemed to be more than 2 or 3 stops away from any of the sights we visited. There are several places to eat close by the hotel though you wouldn't necessarily know it during the day as they are shuttered up. There are also several small cafés close by as well as a supermarket (opposite side of the road and turn right from the entrance to the hotel) if you plan to use the rooms kitchen facilities. The rooms have a fridge which is very handy and are stocked as a mini-bar on arrival at the usual extortionate rate. The cooking facilities extend to 2 hotplates (you have to turn the timer on too for them to work) which are adequate for preparing small meals and for boiling water for drinks (there is no kettle) or indeed sterilising medical equipment - if that's the bag you are into... who am I to judge?

Metro underground stop (Hospital Clinic)is located practically outside door! Made it easy to get around. Restaurants on same block. Shopping (El Corte Ingles) is a 10 minute walk, food store next to metro stop. We had a room on streetside, but window glass was thick so very quiet besides sirens. Internal noise more bothersome - door buzzers, closing doors, voices, but for us tolerable. Kitchenette set up for 2 persons. Need to ask for more dishes if 3+. No microwave or toaster. Staff excellent - answered all questions and provided things we asked for! Their English was excellent and they were polite at all times. Liked the fact there was 24hr reception. Very good hotel, well situed, with spacious rooms, perfect and helpful staff. the only point of improvment to be mentionned : the parking is difficult to use because of its narrowness. (but clean and safe)

Very near to Metro station. Did not meet anybody cause there was no breakfast room.In fact we thought we were the only persons in hotel. Breakfast is not included in price and the breakfast offered was very poor for the price we paid extra.

Two of us My wife and I are seniors,we stayed in a one bedroom apartment, with a small kitchen. The hotel is very close to the metro station and only one block from a new fairly large supermarket open from 9am to 9pm six days a week.Good choice of eating places within two to three blocks ie Pizza, Italian, chinese and tapa bars.

Highly recommended. 50 yards to metro. All essentials nearby - shops, restaurants, bars, ferrari dealership across the street. Staff very friendly and helpful. Two quick metro journeys to city centre. Easy access to whole city. Barcelona Card (available from tourist office) recommended if you are going to visit all the museums and other sights. Discounts on most. If you intend to go to a Barcelona game, wait until you get there to purchase tickets and buy them on the day. I found them to be cheaper than club web site (Barcelona v Valencia). Many thanks to previous visitors who recommende this property.

The staff was incredibly helpful, going out of their way with both travel assistance and directions. All staff we encountered spoke English, but were pleased at our attempts at Spanish. Location is pleasant, though not as central as I'd imagined, but still not difficult to get to common tourist places. The room was gorgeous, lots of space for three people, with a mini kitchen area and beautiful bathroom. Restaurants in the immediate area are a little limited, and there is a hospital nearby, so sirens could be a problem occasionally. Overall, the best hotel we stayed at in Spain and France.

I have spent 3 nights in the hotel with my syster and we found it very comfortable, clean and pleasant. The rooms are really spacious, modern and nice. The location of the hotel is excellent. If you decide to cook for yourself it is also possible, which makes your stay more economical. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.

The Aparthotel Acacia is excellent value, very clean, spacious and in a good area. There are restaurants and bars in the area, but they are fairly limited. However, the metro station is literally 50 meters away so you can be in the centre of Barcelona in a few minutes. The only recommendation I would make is for a kettle to be in each room. The reception staff are friendly, very helpful and speak good english. I would stay here again if I returned to Barcelona.

The Aparthotel was slightly out of the city centre in a pleasant area. It was very near the Hospital Clinic Metro Station which gave easy access to the City Centre, also taxis were plentiful and inexpensive. It was high quality, spacious accomodation. The fridge and cooking facilities were very useful and there was a small supermarket around the corner. The reception staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Overall rating - excellent.

We rather liked this place--liked it but didn't love it. Not in the greatest area, but steps from the Metro. There was no place nearby to get a decent breakfast if you require such a thing. There was also no computer provided for internet access and we didn't notice anywhere nearby with such access. Apparently the lobby was wired for wi-fi, but that doesn't help you if your own computer handy. Still, the place was quite nice and the price was fair.

We liked the hotel very much. Our room was very spacious, impeccably clean and really pleasant. The location of the hotel is very convenient. You just have to cross the street to get to the underground, and round the corner there are a number of small shops where you can buy all you need for breakfast or whatever you want to concoct in your room's kitchenette. Even the aiport bus station is in walking distance. We plan to return to Barcelona and to stay again in the ACACIA hotel.

The room, bathroom, and the lounge/kitchenette were great. Very clean, well kept. the only two hiccups we had were: first I printed the map of the site and had the aparthotel Bonanova instead so wasted an hour getting to the correct site. the second was that the room next door, which I do not think was part of the hotel was rather noisy. About 20 minute walk to Catalonia Platz and 50m from the underground system. Easy to get around. Diagonal about 10 minute walk.

A superb aparthotel - RECOMMENDED. Room very spacious, well laid out, nicely decorated and equipped - photos on website tell it all. Receptionists very helpful and friendly, always greeting with a smile! Very close to Hospital Clinic Metro station, only 4 stops from centre of city. Several good restaurants nearby. Good breakfast served in room. HINT - buy tourist travel card from Plaza Catalunya tourist (€19 travel only buses & metro or €30 including freebies/discounts for 5 days)

This is a fantastic option. The rooms are huge and will a mini-kitchen. It is almost three rooms in one. The location is also great; right next to a subway station. The price was very reasonable when we traveled. The only difficulty I had was with their internet. They have free wireless connections available in the rooms. I am a huge fan of free internet access as a business traveler. During my stay the internet connection was not working however. I was told that this was a temporary problem. Overall 5 stars!

There was quite a bit of noise from the rooms nearby and the corridor. The soundproofing in the hotel needs improving. The breakfast, that can be bought through the hotel, was a bit disappointing. There were too many pastries per person, the drinks were cold and the cornflakes were not nice. The beds were wonderful!!and the shower superb!

The rooms in this hotel are very nice and spacious. The bathrooms were exceptionally good. The staff are very helpful and friendly. A short walk to the end of the road, takes you to a bus that tours the city. Very worthwhile. There was some noise from surrounding rooms which was a little annoying and also people used the area outside the rooms (around the lift) to smoke which was a little unpleasant. Overall though the rooms were very nice and we enjoyed our stay.

As first-time visitors to Barcelona we were concerned mainly about hotel location and also value for money. This hotel offered us exactly what we were looking for - handy for the tourist spots and Metro, an excellent room, friendly staff and enough bars and cafes nearby for that late evening drink/meal. The Metro station (Hospital Clinic) is just across the road and is one stop from Diagonal where you change for the city centre (3 more more stops). Ticket machines in the Metro dispense day tickets (4.8euro) and give change. Highly recommended and we would love to go back.

The room was quite spacious, clean, secured. There was this pasta/pizza resto nearby ran by an italian n spanish couple which had very competent and friendly servers, two of which were our countrymen. The food was just delicious and priced right. The hotel is near two metro stations, in an area which is quite peaceful. We will rebook at this hotel in case we travel to Barcelona again, but I hope they allow our three minor kids to stay with us in one room, and give us special discounted rates for extra beds. I couldn't imagine having to get a separate room for my young children, while overseas.

A really great place to stay. It's not in the center of things so it's quiet and comfortable. We walked absolutely everywhere and everything was about 15 min away walking, meaning Las Ramblas, Passeig de Gracia, etc. The metro station is ON THE CORNER, so we got to take daytrips really easily. There are plenty of little restaurants around and a tiny supermarket half a block up. The price was great for what we got. The staff was very helpfull with anything and the maids where amazing!!!!! We took the train from the airport to the hotel which was pretty easy to do, just don't have too much luggage, but if needed a taxi is about 25 euros. The neighborhood is not touristy at all, so you can escape the bustle of all the craziness. WE LOVED IT!!!! I think when we were there we were the only people in the floor (only 4 rooms per floor) so it was really quiet, mind you I could see if there are more people around there might be more noise but not too much. We would definately come back to this hotel. Best sleep I've had in months!!!!
