It was exellent. Just air conditioner was under repair when we checked-in. But the receptionist didn't mention anything at that time. We claimed that air conditioner is not working and then they mentioned it. They should inform first if they have any problem with their facility or others when guests check-in.

Room OK but hair drier inoperative. Breakfast expensive and unimaginative. Area plagued by pickpockets and muggers (personally had wallet pinched in afternoon and an attempt to mug me for my phone was made in the evening but robber was repulsed). The areas withinh 400metres of Lass Ramblas suffering form petty crime.

Our visit was a present to our son for his 18th birthday. He is a football fan and we wanted to visit for example the Camp Nou. In Barcelona the combination of sea/beaches and big city is great.

The hotel is nice, clean and organized, the location is very good. Only have 2 complaints: our room was almost in the basement (which was not that bad, because it was very quiet) and in our 2nd day, one of the towels provided had few roles.

Very good breakfast. Hotel based at 10mn by foot from the old city (cathedral, ramblas, museums, etc)and also 15mn from the beach. Close to the tube station "para-lel ", very practical and easy to understand (practice if you arrive at the airport of Barcelona). Be careful, if you come by car, it is very difficult to park in Barcelona and the parkings are expansive(20€/day !).

The welcome and helpfulness of the front office staff was great. He recommended a great tapas place that stands out as one of the best meals we had in our 3 week trip. We skipped their breakfast--11 euros per person, no thanks. Unfortunately the short couple blocks between the hotel and Las Ramblas is scary particuarly for women but we we saw a man get mugged right in front of us by two guys at 10 p.m. Creepy. And no policeman around anywhere, whereas you'll see more in other cities. Of course this isn't the hotel's fault but be aware of the area around the hotel.

Excellent value hotel with rooms and public areas to a high standard. Location good with the Ramblas a few minutes walk away, area around hotel improving. Had some problems with air conditioning in room and one small block of soap soon went and not replaced !Otherwise a very good hotel at the price and would return

An excellent two night stay at this hotel! Other reviews gave the impression that the area was quite 'dodgy' but I did not find this to be true. Yes, one side of the square that the hotel is on had some'ladies of the night' but this was not a problem. I felt secure and safe the whole time. There are also some fabulous bars on the square. It is about a five to ten minute walk to the middle of the Ramblas. Got the shuttle bus to the top of Ramblas from the airport on arrival, cost about 4 euros and took 25 minutes, then had a 25 minute walk to hotel. Taxi to airport on way home was ordered by the hotel staff and cost 30 euros and took aout 20 minutes.

L'albergo è molto bello e pulito.

The hotel is wery good, clean and located in in 5 minutes walk from La Rambla. I would recomend it to everyone who comes for a sightseeng tour to Barcelona. The only negative feature is, that you have to sleep with your windows closed because it is a little bit loud in the street a night. But you've got a conditioner there

The hotel was set on its own square which was excellent and only a 5-minute walk from the Las Ramblas (main street). Only downside is L'Hospital Street linking Rambla del Ravel to Las Ramblas, but you don’t have to go down that street, walk up a block and across, no problem at all. Over all an excellent hotel and an excellent area. You are in a city and you need to use your common sense, we had no problems at all. Would defiantly return to this hotel.

The hotel is located in a very dangerous area -walking around there is quite frightening and absolutely not recommendable. The hotel is new and located on a beautiful square, 10 minutes walking to the lower part of the Rambla - if one dares. Expensive taxi rides made it clear that it is advisable to spend a bit more on the hotel room to be able to walk in a decent area of the city.

I picked Abba Rambla based on customers review of the hotel first and the area second. The Hotel was wonderful and I will recommend it to others and will stay there again, the area was better than I expected based on reviews - the red light activity was happening much closer to Las Ramblas than here. There was a tapas bar across the square which we frequented several times and was great. The location of this hotel was ideal for all our needs. The open top tour bus for 2 days is an absolute must and we basked in the sun in Park Guell which was well worth the uphill hike.

This was actually booked as a present for a 50th wedding anniversary. I read lots of the reviews and based my opinion on others' experiences. Most of the reviews were very positive. The only negatives were that taxi drivers couldn't find it and that the area was a little on the rough side around the hotel. The taxi driver had no trouble finding the hotel but I would agree that the area looked a little on therough side, although no problems were encountered. The hotel was top notch and excellent value for money. It was only 5 minutes walk from the main Ramblas. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly. There were no tea making facilities but this is a general thing. Took breakfast out every day as the price was a bit high in the hotel (11 euro I think). Overall a fantastic stay in a very nice hotel. Fully recommended.

Breakfasts very good value for money; if you want a big breakfast, have it here. Italian restaraunt opposite very good. Surroundings not particularly salubrious, but we never felt initimidated or unsafe, even late at night. Only 5 mins from the Ramblas. Excellent value for money.

Lovely hotel – good location just five minutes walk from the main Ramblas. There were lots of restaurants in the square within easy walking distance. Room not particularly spacious – but big enough for a short stay and well equipped with Air Conditioning/mini bar etc and very quiet. Very comfortable beds and pillows. I especially liked the laminate flooring which made the room feel cool and very clean. Buffet breakfast adequate. No evening meals – just pizza to phone in to the room, which is a bit of a bind if you’re tired after a hard day’s sightseeing. We bought an Indian take-away from the Maraharajah just a couple of doors down, which was very good. Secure car parking booked through the hotel a couple of doors down was expensive at 20€ per night, but for a couple of nights it was worth it for the peace of mind. Wireless access worked OK and cost 10€ for 24 hours. The first stop for anyone visiting Barcelona should be one of the many tourist offices dotted all over the place. They can advise on tours - whether any venue you had planned to see is open - and other options. Two Day Hop-on-hop-off Tourist Bus is a great way to see the City and get around - at just 26€ per person for a two day pass - this is well worth it. This hotel would suit couples or single people travelling or sightseeing but I would not want to stay with my family. Overall a good hotel for a short stay and I would definitely consider staying here again.

Raval, where the hotel is located, is definitely not one of the nicest quarters of Barcelona, but very lively and not so bad as described by some travel guides. The Raval Rambla could be a fantastic place, and will probably become that in a few years' time. Right now, the surroundings are a little worrying, with many groups of foreigners standing. We were not harmed in any way, but we felt uncomfortable walking home to the hotel at night.

This is a wonderful hotel, much better than advertised. It is clean, neat, and well appointed. It is located just 5-10 minute walk to the heart of Las Ramblas and the City Bus Tour. We're looking forward to returning soon.

The hotel is well-situated for most of barcelona's hotspots. For breakfast, I recommend to go to a bakery nearby, the "forn del pi" on the Carrer de l'Hospital, almost at the Ramblas on the left hand side (perfect Café con leche!). The hotel was fine.....the chain is obviously investing in an area which it sees has potential. The neighborhood is marginal and did not bother me or my partner at all but we made the reservation also for another couple who were less comfortable with the street life around the hotel. The desk staff was helpful despite the fact that several of them would say they were not from Barcelona. They used their reference books to help us locate some restaurants, sights etc. The surrounding neighborhood for about 7-8 blocks has some good and reasonably priced restaurants. Mostly we snacked and had a drink at the Cuban cafe next door but one morning we splurged and did their 9 euro breakfast which was really very good.

We stayed at Abba Rambla four nights. Our experience was just great and exactly as described in the Venere website by other users: clean rooms nicely decorated with LCD on the wall and spacious bathroom. The surroundings don't look very good, but the municipality is working hard to improve the situation. By the way, the location is perfect: 5 minutes away from the everything. Go for it!

Like a shiny new button on a well worn jacket! The hotel and it's staff cannot be faulted. As it is still quite new, everything still has that "just opened" feel. The staff are friendly and helpful, and will give you good information of where to go and what to do. Good rooms and bathrooms. Buffet breakfast is good, but there is no daily variety. Hotel is close to the Rambla's, a little further away from the tourist bus routes (start at the Colom, you will get the pick of the seats)The only downside to the whole experience is the location. The Raval area is very worn in places (no problem with that) but there seemed to be a lot of wino's in the area...only had hassle from one, but I think women travellers could be a little intimidated at times. The red light district is also nearby (off Sant Pau, to the south)as we accidently discovered! Overall....a lovely hotel with great staff, but be careful out there.

A very nice and well managed hotel. Although well placed for central Barcelona attractions, it is situated on the less fashionable side of the Ramblas, and the surrounding area is local residential. However the square on which it is situated appears to be under development and improving. I would reccomend to anyone who wants a cenral location, with a pleasant, modern hotel

If I were to go back, I would stay in this hotel. My mother and I just had an unpleasant suprised when we got the bill, because the breakfast was not included in the price and we werent told that. It cost 21euros for the two of us PER DAY, which I find rather expensive when you consider the price of meals or snacks in local tea rooms or restaurants.

The Abba Rambla is a very good 3 star hotel with nice rooms (cool Plasma TVs), extremely friendly and helpful staff (they gave us loads of advice and maps) and a good central location. The only negative point is that you must remember that the centre of Barcelona, especially on this side of Las Ramblas, is quite grungy with some real dive bars and people wandering the streets until all hours. If you can't beat 'em - join 'em. Barcelona is a great city for partying. Just don't expect clean streets.

The location shown on the map is completely wrong. None of the 3 taxi drivers we asked knew where this hotel was, probably also because it's only 2 months old. Had a lot of trouble finding it, as the address listed on venere was wrong. Besides that, this hotel was very modern and very nice. Rooms are clean and the lobby is pretty and comfortable. Located in the Rambla del Raval which is very close to the main La Rambla and close to lots of tourist things (Plaza de Catalunya, La Rambla).
