The Hotel has recently been completely refurbished, in its original style whilst up to the most modern standards. The Park Hotel Regina caters for both business people and those who come just to relax, enjoy a friendly atmosphere and, perhaps, take benefit from bagni's mineral waters and its terme. Our intent is your comfort and we devote ourselves to that end. In summer in our loggia, where one can dream of being "way back when". Other meals can be enjoyed at our sister hotel, the Corona (3/4 miles away), in its "conservatory" Restaurant overlooking the Lima, where the menu includes traditional Lucchese dishes and the wine list has a fine selection of local vintage. The Park Hotel Regina was built in the 18 th century as "palazzo", in the centre of old spa "cittadina" of bagni di Lucca: Giacomo Puccini was an early guest and it is where he wrote most of "Turandot" (his last opera which was finished!).

The Park Hotel Regina has a garden that bank on to the Lima river and is adjacent to the "Teatro Accademico", bagni's small theatre where, from time to time, there are plays, operas and other entertainments. You can find Regina hotel following the road that links Lucca to Modena in north direction.

This is a good hotel in Bagni di Lucca, Villa. Privately owned and run, they have a sister hotel the Corona in Ponte a Serraglio some 3 kilometres down the valley. Please note Bagni di Lucca is a collection of small villages so you should check on the map exactly which part you are staying in. The hotel is in general well maintained. We had a leaking shower-head which was changed the next day when they were able to source one. The staff thanked us for advising them of this. The hotel was renovated around six years ago and the owners have further plans, presumably as and when funding permits. The swimming pool being a recent addition. As we were in the off-peak season, the pool was not available and, whilst not a problem for us, this should be remembered if booking outwith the summer season. Like many old buildings in these villages it borders directly onto the main road. if you book a room that is on the roadside, it could be noisy if you are a light sleeper. The breakfast is, luckily, a proper Italian continental style breakfast and they have avoided the trap of trying to please the culturally vacuous by supplying 'eggs and bacon'. You cannot experience another culture by bringing your own with you. Please note, the orange juice is not freshly squeezed, it is a type of concentrate/diluting juice and whilst drinkable, it would be better if this was actual juice even from concentrate. They make coffee to order, including capuccino. The staff are in general young and quite reserved and tend not to want to be intrusive. However, if you ask for their help they are only too willing to help where possible. The room was of a sufficient size for our purpose. We had chosen a room with a verranda looking out onto the mountains, lovely. Room size is dictated by the age of the building so do not expect rooms the size of large modern hotels. In summary, if you wish a good clean hotel with helpful staff and also put money into the local economy, choose

The name of the hotel is not actually on the building which is unhelpful. However, its not difficult to find as it is on the main road. It is a lovely hotel with swimming pool and jacuzzi set within lovely views. A good base from which to visit other places and do some good walks. Very good breakfast buffet with ham, eggs, cereals, croissants, yogurts and various cakes. We had an enjoyable stay of 5 nights.

If you love the real Italy, unspoiled and authentic you will love it here. The Hotel was perfect, the pool is excellent, really peaceful and very stylish with lovely sunbeds, enough for everyone. The river running just at the back sets the perfect scene. We upgraded to a room with a pool view, great decision. We awoke each morning to a beautiful view of the Italian hillsides. The town itself was lovely, not at all commercialised and with enough going on. There are a number of restaurants close to the hotel and the Hotel Corona is about 15 minutes walk away - lovely food and excellent wine. We stayed for one week, which was not enough and were sad to leave. It is a great place to stay for enjoying days out to both Lucca and Florence - both only a short drive away and both worth a visit - especially Lucca. The staff were extremely helpful, spoke really good english and always had a smile to bear. We really do intend to go back here. Tuscany is huge and there is so much more to see, this was the perfect base!

We (couple) stayed three nights and enjoyed the stay. A nice pool and garden, the location Bagni di Lucca is neat. The price we had was low (37€ weekdays in June) so we rate the relation price/quality very high. It is worth much more than that. Especially the service oriented staff must be mentioned.

Excellent hotel in great position in Bagni Di Lucca. Pool etc. better than I expected and good choice of restaurants very close by. Worth paying the extra to have a room with view at the rear of the hotel.

The room was smallish, but clean. It was the tail end of the season and though the weather hadn't been good it was improving again as we arrived. The pool had been about to close, but after talking to the staff they agreed to keep it open as long as the weather held. The loungers had all been put away lready but they got them out again and put them by the pool which we thought was pretty good service. Good pool area in well kept garden overlooking Lima river. Loungers etc are very high quality. The hotel itself gives the impression of being rather soul-less to begin with, probably because there's no restaurant. We only ate at their sister hotel, the Corona, which is 20 minutes walk away down at Ponte a Serraglio, on one evening, and found it extremely good. There are a number of other v. good restaurants in the vicinity, and right across the road is Il Sonno, where you'll also find excellent quality and value. Bagni di Lucca is a good base for all sorts of things, and we're considering staying at the Regina Park again again next year if we don't go to Umbria rather than Tuscany.

We were the only group (two couples) staying at the hotel at the time and when we arrived we had problems getting in as the main door was locked (although the owner was in the garden). The owner (who speaks English) stays mainly at his other hotel a couple of km away where there is a restaurant. There is an excellent restaurant directly across the road however. The owner and staff (who didn't speak English) were very helpful and friendly when there, it was just a bit strange coming back later in the evening with no-one on reception.

The Regina Park Hotel was beyond our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised with their brand new swimming pool. The receptionist/waiter (unfortunately we never got his name) at the Regina was extremely welcoming. This young man was attentive and went beyond the call of duty to ensure our stay was pleasant. The Regina is lucky to have him work there. We will definitely return to the Regina on our next visit.

We expected from the brochure a quiet hotel in parkland on the outskirts of the town. We found a hotel in the centre of the town with the grassed area on the website photo being converted into what will be an excellent swimming poool and jacuzzi. That initial disappointment over we could not fault the hotel in any other way. Staff were friendly and helpful - the one who did not speak english exceptionally so! Rooms were excellent with reasonable showers (not the horrid electric dribbles!). There is an excellent restaurant just opposite. We will definitely use the hotel again if we are in that area.

Unfortunatelly we passed the hotel several time without finding it, because there was no sign. When we arrived to person on the reception was not able to speak English or German. Only Italian and I did not speak Italian. So it was very difficult to get information. The swimming pool and the garden was a construction site but if it is finished it really could be nice. Breakfast was ok apart from the thing that first there was only old bread available. After all yesterday's bread was eaten fresh bread was offered. The hotel is in the centre and several restaurants can be reached within minutes. My recommendation: Ristorante Del Sonne. They have delicious food and speak a lot of languages...

When we arrived there was nobody in the hotel at all. There was a note on the front door telling us to call another hotel, but we didn't have a phone. We searched the grounds for someone to talk to. A swimming pool was being dug outside, apparently a new addition for summer guests. Finally after the people who owned the theatre next door called the # left on the door someone came to give us our key. She was apologetic saying that they didn't think we were arriving that early and gave us a complementary bottle of wine with dinner...and a 10% discount on the cost of dinner. The room was quite nice with a little balcony and a view of the construction of the pool being built!!!! The shower had black mold inside the bottom near the tracks where the door runs, although the room and bath were otherwise well kept. The noise from the construction wasn't pleasant, but we didn't spend much time in the room. Breakfast was good and the girl who served it was very pleasant, helpful and charming. The area was wonderful with lots to see and do, close to Lucca and Pisa. I would check the bathroom, look for construction and make sure they knew we were coming, but I would stay here again. I loved Bagni di Lucca.
