Batschari Suite Hotel - Baden-Baden

Unfortunately the hotel resembled a building site, it was not finished and our hearts sank when the taxi turned up there. We thought they had gone to the wrong hotel, the front was litterally a building site with stacks of bricks, skips or rubbish etc. The whole public corridors, lifts etc were covered in plaster dust and dust sheets were put down which got caught up and were a Health and Safety hazard. The bar was not open on the evening we arrived as 'the barman was working in the restaurant at that time' forcing us to go outside the hotel to find somewhere. We had specifically booked the hotel as it stated it had a pool and a spa. This turned out not to be completed either. Although an offer was made to use the facilities at the town's spa this is clearly not the same as being able to walk from your room to a spa in your own hotel and this totally disappointed us as it was the main reason for choosing that hotel. Several complaints were made and a reduction in room rate was obtained but it ruined out weekend away. The pictures and descriptions on the internet were in no way correct and this is frustrating to say the least. This has put us off of choosing and staying at hotels from this site.

Excellent hotel. I had to rate the public areas low simply because they were still under construction at the time. But indeed, it is a 4 star hotel and worthy of all stars. I hope they get more pictures up soon.
