Domina Parkhotel - Bad Kreuznach

A bit grungy and unfriendly.

Wireless LAN was only available for 6 € for a day. In most of hotels I know, it is free.

My expectations for a 4-star hotel are clearly higher. Personnel at the reception was unfriendly, showers were cold, W-LAN did not work in the rooms and the voucher was not refunded. Personnel in the restaurant and bar was friendly. Meal was good.

I have been a guest at this hotel once before, so I was familiar with the property before making this reservation. We were also able to get a triple, not so easy in Europe but necessary due to my Dad's health issues. What made this a great choice was first the location in the Kurpark in Bad Kreuznach, giving it the feeling of being slightly away, even though you are right in the main part of town. I brought my parents with me on this trip and the first day in Austria, my Mom broke her leg. The hotel is designed for those who are going on a restful vacation to improve their general health, and is surrounded by spas, gyms, and thermal baths. All guests receive bath robes and a spa package so that they can take advantage of the thermal baths free of charge. It is also remarkably handicapped friendly for Europe, so we had easy access to a wheelchair, and a nice large room to maneuver in. It is not just for "old people" and when we were joined by my two daughters who already had reservations elsewhere, they said they would come here as well next time around. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast in the lovely dining room with a huge front window is always delightful. I am a vegetarian and had no trouble finding delicious choices. The hotel was not full when we arrived, but is a spot often used for conferences and meetings. The conference facilities are also very spacious and this hotel has been the site of many historic meetings between major international political figures. We are already planning a return visit in two years and will definitely stay here again.

Great hotel but could have more things writing in english ( like the food in the resterant,staff, and more infomation leaflats about were you are staying and what there is too do there)alot of stuff is in german only.

The Kurhaus is not what it used to be 20 years ago. Upon arrival, we did not receive any information from the young lady at the front desk concerning services, facilities, parking, spa, breakfast, lounge or restaurant. Our rooms were on the 4th floor accessed by seperate stairwells. The rooms were very spartan for a 4 star hotel with one small window for air circulation, NO air conditioning. We inquired about different rooms that would allow my wife and I to be closer to our teenage daughters and were told that nothing was available. I monitored hotel and hall traffic through the evening, the hotel was not full. Our daughters spent the night sleeping on the floor of our room, no visible hotel security. Upon check-out the young lady refused to speak english, this is the same young lady that spoke english at check-in the day before. Not the ending that we had desired for our 2 week vacation in Europe. I have stayed many nights in far more comfortable family run German Gasthaus'. You can find far better room value and accomodations at several 2 and 3 star hotels. End on a positive note, the bartender was an exceptional young man and a pleasure to meet.
