Good points - excellent swimming pool so hot it steamed in the early mornings. fantastic view from pool while swimming. steam sauna and some spa facilities included in price. pleasant garden and sunbathing area. nice local walks. Good size room with balcony and pleasant view of the hillside above. not so good - decor a bit tired in places. bad points - very variable food quality which usually only varied from poor to ok . Vegetables cooked to death. Had an eccellent smoked tomato soup one evening but that was the only culinary high. breakfast substantial and probably the best meal of the day. overall - ok but let down badly by the food and rather tired restaurant area some building work in progress so maybe will improve in future.

By carFrom the North: take the A10 motorway from Salzburg to the Bischofshofen exit, then take the 311 road towards Gasteinertal. In Bad Gastein follow the yellow hotel route.
From the South: take the A10 motorway from Villach and exit towards Mallnitz. At Mallnitz take the auto train to Böckstein/Bad Gastein. In Bad Gastein follow the yellow hotel route.
