Hotel d'Europe - Avignon

What a lovely hotel. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. They suggested great restaurants for us to try and booked them for us because our French was so poor. We used the valet parking as we had a hire car and no clue where to park. This worked well and we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for our car. The rooms were most spacious and full of character. Loved our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. Our room overlooked the courtyard - just gorgeous. Didnt eat at the hotel - quite pricey so cannot comment on the food.

Very nice old school type hotel with personal decoration (not standard) travelling with wife and baby. I stayed in the smallest room with a large very pleasnt bathroom. I don't see anything bad to say about our staying;

I found the staff very pleasant and helpful. By comparison with other hotels in France, including Paris, it seemed a bit on the expensive side.

The wireless internet service was not working and the staff didn't care. when we were checked in we were shown the restaurant but not told that if we wanted to eat in the hotel we should have booked several days before arriving!. i expect to be able to eat dinner in the hotel we are staying in or be told on arrival that we need to book elsewhere and be helped with that

An absolutely wonderful hotel with a very well trained and responsive staff. A truely wonderful place to stay. It is a bit more expensive but if you are looking for a unique and exceptional hotel, this is a good choice.

Our first visit to Avignon. A fantastic hotel in a beautiful building & a great location.

This was the second time we have stayed at the Hotel d'Europe. It was a splurge for us, but definitely did not disappoint. The quiet elegance and friendly, helpful personnel made our stay one of the highlights of our trip. We had a wonderful time exploring nearby sites and villages: the Sunday market at Isle sur la Sorque, les Baux, St. Remy, Chateauneuf du Pape. Located within the walls of Avignon, it is within easy walking distance to some great restaurants, helpfully recommended by the staff. The Hotel d'Europe was the perfect home base for us.

We loved this hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. I was traveling with my mom so the only problem was I has asked for two beds and they were unable to accomodate this request. But...the bed was large enough that we were fine. The staff was extremely knowlegable and very willing to help us. They set up a day tour for us with a great driver that really knew about the area. Overall - I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone.

Superb service compliments a very classy, old world feeling kind of Hotel that is a great value at the price. Book it.

This is wonderful, central place to stay in Avignon - without the noise of being overtop of a restarant or nightclub. it is an easy walk around the whole town, sites and restaurants. the hotel was helpful in suggesting good restaurants, storing our luggage and making our stay very pleasant - in English. we are sorry that we did not have an opportunity to use the bar or restaurant at the hotel - both looked very good.

Great location, great hotel. Very pleasant staff. Was upgraded at not cost to a larger room as there was one available.

Excellent location within the city walls, close to the most touristic areas. Quiet room. Excellent meals served in magnificent surroundings. We have been there about 40 years ago and the pleasure to be there is intact.

The offered room, bed and bath room were too small for two persons.

The hotel is an amazing experience, elegant, refined, beautiful. The staff are all eager to please and very friendly. Rooms are clean and equiped reasonably, and fairly large. Location is great. The ambiance here is wonderful. Truly a great boutique hotel. This hotel is small, and its facilities are limited. The most notable of these is dining - while room service is available, it is extremely limited. Dining in the evening is available, though hours are limited. Breakfast is good. Fortunately the hotel is located directly across the street from a great square with many excellent dining choices.

Front desk offers great suggestions for restaurants,great area to shop and friendly service, take a drive to the many villages surrounding the area, hotel had friendly service though for the price I think breakfast should of been included, and in the room a coffee machine should be provided. We had room 101, no view but the size of the room was more than sufficient and the bathroom newly renovated and modern. We would definitely go back again!

We stayed only one night and unfortunately our room overlooked the street and was noisy.

Loved everything about this hotel,simply charming with excellent staff.Would highly recommend this hotel.It has lived up to its photo galley and more.

This is a wonderful hotel. Everything about it was just perfect - the building itself, the rooms, the location - but especially the staff who went out of their way to be helpful. We felt cosseted. (And just round the corner in the rue Joseph Vernet is a wonderful restaurant called the 5 Sens - we had one of the best meals ever.) I would thoroughly recommend the Hotel d'Europe. It made our visit very special.
