The hotel is around 5 minute drive from the centre of Avignon which was fine for us as we hired a car from the TGV train station. Despite no parking there is a free parking area around 300 metres away. Unsure if there is a bus service to Villeneuve from Avignon but it is accessible. We loved it as we discovered a lovely place to eat on our 1 night stay. There are some lovely authentic restaurants, away from the commercialised centre. We had the three bed room which they added a fold out bed for our 11 yr old, a bit tight but manageable. The grounds were quaint and quiet at night. Did not have breakfast as we decided to buy our croissants from the local patisserie and fruit from the supermarket.

We were very warmly greeted by Julie, who spoke English very well. The hotel is delightful-- very ¨french¨! Charming public spaces, including an interior garden and roof deck. The rooms have a lovely rustic quality, but well restored. I wouldn´t say that this hotel is for those who prefer sterile business hotels with 50 channels of cable TV and a gym. Rather, it´s ideal for couples who want a relaxing, romantic holiday in a charmingly walkable small town just across the river from Avignon. Very convenient to everything. Thanks for a lovely stay!

This was a lovely inn in a quiet area with many restaurants within an easy walking distance. Everyone at the De l'Atelier was wonderful and very helpful. In you are visiting Avignon, this is the perfect place - across the river in a very non-touristy neighborhood.

Fabulous. Great town with so much to walk to and interesting things to see. Easy to get to Avignon by bus. We had a nice room with a large window and just enough space for all our bags etc. The carpeting was a little rough on the feet, straw matting, had to wear socks - maybe I am a "tender foot". The staff were very very helpful with any information we required. The breakfast was excellent.

The hotel was lovely, and we had a small room that was off the courtyard,in the back, so it was quiet. The view over the courtyard was quite pretty. We were not greeted very well, as we were told we were too early. It was 3:30pm, so we were surprised by that. But the staff other than that were quite nice, and welcoming. We had breakfast 2 different days, and by French standards, it was plentiful, and delicious. The courtyard for dining is exquisite. The common area is lovely, and a good place for the internet, as it had lousy reception in our room. No air-conditioning, but the open window was refreshing. No lift..so plenty of dragging the luggage upstairs, so pack light! We enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this hotel. There was no cat smell at all! But she/he did curl up next to me for a nap. We had a room on the street side and the noise in the morning (5 AM) was bad. Garbage trucks, street repair, etc. I think a room in the back would be required. Mother and daughter who managed the reception could not have been more helpful and pleasant. They are delightful informed people.

The room and the hotel were exquisite. They were the essence of Provence. Songbirds filled the air with their song and hotel gardens enhanced our stay. Also the sights were all within walking distance. The hotel staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful.

This was a wonderful place for my mom & I to stay on a short holiday... it has a gorgeous decor (very shabby-chic in a good way!) & lovely owners. The only downside is that breakfast is not included in the price, and isn't worth the amount you pay. But the hotel is beautiful and we would definitely come again.

There's only one thing I would like to remark, the bathroom was not very comfortable. The bathtub was rusty and old as well as part of the bathroom floor. Should you go there in summer, do not choose room 41.It is extremely noisy, hot and there's no air conditioning. Anyway It was a pleasure spending a couple of days in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. It's a very charming small town, good restaurants and bars. And it's only a few km far from Avignon.

A very nicely presented hotel, with lovely helpful hosts. Only downside is the extremely small shower (and we are not big people), and no lift, so travel light unless you want to carry a heavy suitcase up two or three floors. However, we would stay here again, the town is lovely and the hotel very good.

The hotel is not within walking distance of Avignon city centre, but is located in a very beautiful and quiet area. I recommend renting a bicycle or car to get around or use the bus from Villeneuve to Avignon. Fantastic pastry shops and restaurants within walking distance from hotel (just don't eat Andouilette (tripe sausage) from the butchery). Enjoy a picnic on the river bank!

The hotel was wonderful, rooms were large & well equipped. We asked to have a bottle of wine opened & they even gave us wine glasses to use. Being in the old city was great, the recommendations given for meals were perfect. We had the breakfast in the morning & it was well worth the price. The staff & owners treated us as old friends & even came out to say goodbye as we departed. We definately would return for more than the one night we had at the hotel.

Very helpful staff, excellent breakfast, lovely room. Location across the Rhone River was a bit inconvenient, requiring either bus or taxi to sightsee in Avignon. Villeneuve-Les-Avignon was, in itself, a beautiful, charming village which we also enjoyed exploring. Give bus driver specific instructions about hotel destination, eg. half block from TI in Villeneuve-Les-Avignon.

I found this hotel wonderful. Very welcoming and very reasonable rate. They had some very good mountain bikes to rent at a very good price and were very helpful with advice. It's a really unique and charming place with lots of nooks and crannies, lovely courtyard - and although I didn't use another second floor terrace. My room was spotless, spacious and comfortable - couldn't want more really Also the village Villeneuves lez Avignon is the best place to stay and explore the city. Not only is the village stunning in its own right with some great old castles and abbeys but it's just a minute or so away from Avignon proper but without any of the tourist hassle. I whole heartedly recommend it!

L'Atelier is a pretty beautiful old style guest house. It is located in a lovely village close to Avignon (little bit far to go walking). The rooms are spacious, but is important to remark that there aren't neither air conditioning nor elevator in the L'Atelier. Futhermore, the parking is 300 meters away from the hotel. The parking in fact, is open air at the local school, besides, is necessary to pass trough a dark and frightening tunel to reach the entrance. These kind of things wouldn't count if it were for free. Nevertheless, is very recomendable for a stay in the Provence and the staff are really kind and make you feel almost at home. And don't forget to take the breakfast in the charming backyard surrended by vineyards.

The hotel is a very nice place situated conveniently in the small and quite city of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. It took us no time to find it and park on the instant parking place in front of the hotel door. It is the type of old style building with old style furnishing that we like the most. No elevator, but if you like the place it doesn't matter. Just to do some exercise. Our room is small but lovely, with a small balcony facing a slim patio. It is very convenient to park at the hotel's reserved parking lot, a three minutes walk from the hotel. Hotel staff are nice, especially the gentleman who prepared the breakfast. By the way, there's nice restaurant just a stone throw from the hotel. Only serve dinner. Try the petite plat, very delicious.

I had read a previous comment from a customer about the smell of cat urine in the reception area. We noted this smell as well, but didn't find it to be a problem anywhere else in the hotel. The front doors are often left open to offer a more welcomging atmosphere.
