Cheap hotel, not too bad location however the room has some serious problems particulary the bathroom (dirty & smelly). It's not comfortable to stay at all.

We stayed only 1 night in a twin room, we had to cancel 1 night due to changes in plan and that was made without any problems. We had ensuite toilet and shower. The door was not enough to give privacy. The room was good size, it was warm and there was extra blanket available. However, it was close to stairway and was a bit noisy when people walked pass.

Apart from having to carry my bags up four+ very steep old winding European staircases to the farthest room available -- this place was a dream. Excellent value for money. No place is cheaper. And it's still a relatively comfortable hotel. Sure, it's a little shabby, but the location is perfect, very quaint, and the room and sheets were clean. Wifi available in the room, and it was pretty fast. I had a great stay. (Just remember flip-flops for the shower if you don't take an en-suite...)

This is a very convenient hotel just located along the main street of Avignon, everything is within walking distance. But this is the first time I payed 40 euros for a single room neither without bathroom nor air conditioner and the room is no more than 8 m2 big. Anyway, to find a satisfactory hotel with a low price is not easy in such a small town like Avignon. In general, the stuff is friendly and can speak English quite well. The location is the best part.

Great location in the town centre but a little off the main street with a nice courtyard means it is quiet as well.

The hotel has a great location right in the centre of Avignon and close to the main attractions, the fact that the hotel is behind a building of the main road gives it privacy. The rooms are awfully small and the toilet is just a few inches away from one of the sides of the bed which is not very nice.

Hotel vicinissimo al centro, si può tranquillamente andare a piedi per fare shopping o visitare il palazzo dei Papi, il ponte di Avignone ed altri musei. La stanza è molto confortevole e pulita. Unico neo è la mancanza di ascensore e se capitate al 3 piano sarà molto difficile "arrampicarsi" con le valigie per le scale molto strette.

This was the first time I booked hotel through venere web.General,the hotel is good,especially the location ,though the room is very small which is very common in Europe. Only problem is that there is no lift,so if you have heavy luggage,pls ask for ground floor room.

Awesome hotel for the price we paid - it was a spacious room, right in the center of the old city, 2 minute walk to the express bus that takes you to the train station. Very quiet too. The hotel staff didn't seem overly friendly but it wasn't a big deal.

The only problem I had with the hotel was that it was above a bar and music was playing sometimes until 2.00pm in the morning and as it was hot the window had to be left open and therefore it was very noisy but everything else about the hotel was fine

The room booked on Venere was awful! It was a closet, and had a fan, but no outlet (I was told that room was the cheapest and therefore had no outlet!) So, for a couple more Euros, I upgraded and had a nicer room. Nothing fancy, but this one had outlets and a TV... and was 3 times the size. So warning - the room I wound up with was nice, but if I had been stuck with the one Venere gave me, it would have been AWFUL!!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Central. Reception was friendly & accomodating. Location was perfect. We would defenitely stay there again.

We stayed in Avignon for 2 nights. The hotel was easy to find, in a great location, a short walk from the centre. Parking was in a nearby secure carpark with a 50% reduction in rate. The walls were thin and there were a few mosquitos but when asked, the receptionist provided flyspray and showed us where the plug-in repellants were. We couldn't use the room phone to call out and the shower head was broken, the courtyard as shown in the photos was a resting place for pidgeons so the tables were not clean and there were feathers lying around.

This is not a beautiful or comfortable hotel but then neither would you expect this for the price given the location. We suffered badly from the mosquitos, a problem which might have been lessened had the bathroom window not been broken so that it was impossible to close it. If you are looking to stay in avignon for a short time and are on a strict budget then this hotel does have it's positive points, but i think next time i might be a little less tight on the budget.
