The hotel is difficult to find, even with a navi, because the hotel don't belong to Aveiro. The surrounding is ugly, but the garden and the pool are wonderful.The beds have excellent matresses. Out of season, the restaurant is closed.

To reach this hotel we exited the A17 at exit marked ILHAVO/QUINTAS, at the 2nd. roundabout turn right JOAO CAPELA is indicated, continue for 1KM and you will see a tiled church straight in front of you, branch left passing the church on your right, cont. for 1KM more and there is a sharp right turn (JOAO CAPELA) is indicated high up on a sign, in a very short distance the hotel entrance is straight in front of you. The room did not have a bath only a shower, no twin rooms with bath available. breakfast was basic, coffee was brought to the table without asking but we wanted tea which was so weak we asked for extra tea bags. Don't expect a "bon dia" from the staff. The outdoor swimming pool and surrounding area is really impressive,a lovely place to sit. There is also a rural museum to browse around, very unusual. There is also very nearby a local train station QUINTANS where we got the train to COIMBRA. The station is unmaned, buy your ticket on the train (half price for the over 65's, take passport to prove age).
