Excellent value for a huge room. Easy walk to harbour. Recommend trip to Devenport by ferry for brunch and shopping.

We had booked an overnight stay in Auckland after we had been on a cruise around New Zealand. We were disappointed in our stay at the Heritage in Auckland.The room was not ready which we understood as we were early.The receptionist offered to ring my mobile when the room was ready...this did not happen and we were not greeted warmly at all when we appeared at the desk about 6 hrs later. The room was dark and poky. The only breath of fresh air was the all night receptionist who called us a cab to go to the airport at 4am and actually talked to us in a friendly manner while we waited in the foyer for the cab to arrive. We met friends at the Irish pub next door and found the service and friendliness in there great.
