Royal Olympic Hotel - Athens

The hotel is not right in the center of the city (10-15 minutes walk to Plaka and Syntagma). A lot of traffic and noise. The room we had booked was not available at the time at arrival but they gave a better room (plus). The room we got was fitted for 1 single person (we were a couple). No clear information on parking price(8 euro's to enter the parking and then 1 euro/hour; we found it at reception at 22:30). For internet (otherwise free) we had to asked at reception. Very poor breakfast (no fresh vegetables; poor selection of cold cuts and cheeses). Their "catching attraction" roof bar and restaurant was closed on Saturday evening due to a wedding party with no information to the guests of the hotel. Definitely, a good hotel, with nice location but NOT 5 STARS.

Excellent hotel in central location close to public transport and all local attractions

We were impressed with the renovations of the hotel. we have stayed there a few times . the breakfast room on the ground floor was fantastic.front desk willingly upgraded us to a city view room looking at the temple of zeus great view.the only problem was the airconditioner was turned off; and several people complained.

Room is too small, facilities in room are too old.

Outstanding restaurant view, good food. Rooms are clean and spacious, public areas are gorgeous in marble. Only the breakfast restaurant (with a wierd medieval look)could be enhanced. great services from the porters! Location is fabulous. We went a night to Park Hotel (suposly also 5 stars)to realise how better was the Olympic.

A dream come true! we enjoyed every bit of our stay at this hotel. it indeed exceeded our standards.

Very nice, spacious rooms. Decor and public areas was excellent. Staff was very efficient. Problem area is the breakfast room which was too small for the number of guests, resulting in long queues for a table and food running out at regular intervals - so not very relaxing! Otherwise, a good hotel in an excellent location.

Excellent hotel in wonderful location near the Platka. Public spaces were beautiful and service was excellent. The hotel exceeded my expectations as we have been to Athens several times in the past and not had a really good hotel experience until now. We would definitely stay there again.

Great hotel which fully lived up to expectation. Public areas are beautiful and the roof bar and restaurant afford magnificent views of the Acropolis and Temple of Olympian Zeus. Bar is somewhat pricey though (two orange juices cost 19 euros). Having said that, the staff were fantastic, combining friendliness with professionalism. We would be more than happy to return to this hotel.

Our stay at Royal Olympic was a much needed respite from the heat and sightseeing in Athens. The location and hotel facilities were excellent. The pool and pool bar provided top notch relaxation in the heat of the day. Our meal at the terrace restaurant was less satisfactory: overpriced and not first rate, but the drinks at the roof terrace bar were worth every penny. Simply breathtaking views of the Temple of Zeus and the Akropolis at sunset are an experience we will take with us always from this trip!!!

My comment in one word: a paradise.

The position of the hotel is perfect. Very close to metro station (no more than 100 mt), walking distance to acropolis, temple of zeus, plaka. the rooms are big enaugh, the public areas are beautifull (specially the breakfast room in medieval style). Breakfast is very good and various. Maybe in the summer this hotel is even better beacouse you can use the swimming pool. Good wifi

THERE IS NO BUS OR ANY KIND OF SERVICE AS IT'S TOLD IN YOUR DAMN DESCRIPTION TO DRIVE US FROM (TO) THE AIRPORT !!!! REVIEW THATTTTTT !

Upon checking in we were offered an upgrade in a huge room with panoramic view over the Zeus temple. The room was wonderful, spacious and spotless. The same applies to the public areas that are clean and nicely decorated. The personnel was friendly and helpful.

On arrival, they already wanted payment and the receptionist swore she couldn't accept my German debit card, even though I pay with it across Europe. When I convinced the manager to try it, it of course worked. Disappointing in a 5-star hotel. Apart from that, everything as to be expected, palatial surroundings, quality breakfast buffet, nice if not overimpressive rooms.

Hotel staff efficient and friendly, rooms small. Noise from surrounding building work constant from early morning. Very close to Acropolis station and easy to find

Really enjoyed our stay. Room was excellent, location very convenient to Plaka and other places of interest. Room was very clean with very decent contemporary furniture. Overall excellent quality for the price, especially in October.

Stayed 2 nights there before a trip to 2 Cyclades. The location is great, in a walking distance froml the Acropolis and the Plakka area. Rooms are clean. I was really disappointed at the service. No free internet access for such a price. The bed were incredibly hard and there were renovations work on the hotel starting 7.30am which made it impossibly for us to sleep longer. Would not recommend this.

No airport shuttle. Construction noise began promptly at 8 a.m. No water in swimming pool. We were there off-season, but still a bit disappointing, considering price paid. Excellent location for acropolis/surrounding sites.
